I used Auburn Leach's K9 facility when I first brought my "very solid" rescue home. He trained my service dog named Quincy for several weeks. He did a fantastic job with Quincy and even provided some extra at home training as i was nervous. Unfortunately, these sweet babies have such a bad wrap. If boarded, Quincy always comes home clean and tired. I've had an unfortunate year health wise and have been in the hospital several times. When I take Quincy to the facility, he cries to get out of the car! He loves to make new friends and visit Mr Leach's team. He doesn't hesitate to leave me in the dust, which I feel speaks volumes! Knowing I'm missing my dog tremendously, Mr. Leach will answer phone calls or texts within several hours, if not immediately. The facility is clean, the staff is accomadating, and Mr. Leach beyond reproach. You won't be sorry if your fur baby needs boarding or a class (or two). read more

In the beginning he was very nice. I told him I could not take my German Shepard into a store or around people. He started out great however, I was never given any info on the training signs he used. He was suppose to take us to Lowes to train him and myself to be calm around people and that never happened. The main problem was He brought him out to the car one day and he saw his buddy from class leaving and jumped at his leash. Auburn jerked his chain collar, that he uses on all dogs, so hard I didn't think he was going to catch his breath. He was 6 months old and didn't need to be choked because he want to play with his friend. But the worst problem came when his wife came out to get him one morning. He jumped into my lap and pressed himself against me so hard I couldn't breath and begin to tremble. She had came to the car several times but he never acted like that. She had done something to him that had him scared to death! That was it my dog had been mistreated ! We never went back!! You do not need a choke collar to strangle them into submission!!! I had a horrible experience with Auburn Leach K9 Academy. My dog started lashing out and acting aggressively after an altercation with a neighbor;s dog when he was young. I wish I had done more research before deciding to go with Auburn as I later found several accounts of issues with this organization. Everything was fine at first - I signed my contract, made the payment, and my dog was picked up several time from my house and taken to stay with the K9 Academy for his training. I started to notice the way my dog would act around Auburn when he dropped him off and the pronged collar that was leaving indents around his neck. I understood that it was a training facility with a specialization in aggressive dogs, however, I highly question his tactics as well as the treatment of my dog. My dog had NEVER been hit, but after his "trainings" with Auburn he seemed to fear raised hands and was not showing any improvement. Later, no one at the organization would answer any of my calls. I never received a copy of my signed contract which I asked for over and over. Eventually, Auburn stopped showing up and cut off all contact. Meanwhile, my dog was not any better and may have in fact been worse and more defensive. I encourage people looking for training or those trying to get a handle on their aggressive dog to please do your research and look elsewhere. This organization took advantage of me when I really needed help with a beloved pet. They took my money, treated my dog who knows how, and completely shut me out when I tried to ask questions and figure out what was going on. Highly advise people to AVOID. read more

We apparently didn't do our homework as another reviewer recommends. Auburn did us a horrible disservice when we dropped off our pup with him for obedience and protection training and returned him without any evidence of having been trained, licking granulomas, bite marks and stinky dirty. He took our money and didn't do protection training as agreed, but he did explain his helper had been arrested and detained. We would have been happy to pick our dog up had we been informed but there is no communication from Auburn while he has your dog. There are wonderful reviews for this man, which shocks me, but the bad ones are numerous as well and all seem to be for those of us that dropped off our dogs to stay with him. This man did not do what he was paid to do, refused to refund us, was not communicative and our dog, thankfully returned to us, was returning to us in questionable condition. read more

They board the dogs they train! Never worry about deciding who to leave your dog with again, when these guys train your dog, they will also board him/her for a great price! You have plans to tan on the beach for a week, meanwhile your dog is getting quality care with a dose of training on the side. While in their care, your dogs behavior will be under highly trained supervision. Nothing like hitting a little reset button, while you get to relax. We used Auburns training and each time we have boarded our dog he comes back better each time. Our dog is a special case and will always be alot of work, if you have a special needs dog, you know they come with a lot of patience and dedication. Auburn took our 10 month old Staffordshire Terrier for 3 weeks and brought him back so well mannered. We've had him since he was 8 weeks and he was just so full of energy and decided that he was only going to listen when he felt like it. Within the few minutes of bringing him back we noticed the difference instantly. Auburn informed us of everything we needed to know during the follow up training at our home. It was amazing to see how our dog actually listened to commands when he's told vs when he felt like it and it makes everything much more easier and pleasant. I'm looking forward to taking him out without worrying about him being out of control. my 1 year old belgium mallinois bit two people and was becoming very aggressive. We almost had to get rid of him. We found auburn on line and sent him to his training for three weeks. At the end of three weeks he told us for no additional charge I need another week this way I can make sure bad behavior is gone. We were nervous! Today he brought our dog back. My family and I were shocked at the transformation he has made under auburns direction. We took him to public places all day and had zero issues it's like he gave us a different dog back. Auburn and his training regiment has worked wonders. We now have a great dog. He is also following up in two weeks driving three hours to check. Up on us. I have been taking my two Labs to Auburn Leach for a couple weeks now. My dogs stay with me and I take them for training so I get trained as well. The boys are learning fast, as well as me. He shows me how to hold my leash and what to do and say to get the boys to listen to me. They now walk by my side, sit and stay. Which is no small feat for my two wild ones. We have some socializing to do now and they'll be the well mannered boys I was hoping for. I'm glad I go for the training , learn what my role is, or I know I'd undo all the training when we left. I appreciate the time he spends on US. It lets him see what I do wrong and how they interact with me. I too was at the point I'd like to just have someone train the boys and give them back trained. But I was 1/3 of our disobedience problem. Now they listen to ME. Not just their trainer. We can go walking without fussing, pulling, trotting, and severe aggravation. They listened to me even when I took them to the lake! The first time we took them my grown daughter and I came back bruised up and they almost broke my husbands thumb! Auburn did absolutely nothing for us except tell us how great our dog was with him and give us a choke collar. He was called about eight months ago to help us with our Pit that has severe behavior issues, and he helped us with absolutely nothing. The first time he took her, she came back listening perfectly...for about two days. Once those two days were up, she became the same terror of a dog she was prior to him taking her. He told us that while he had her he would call us to give us updates on how she was doing and he never did, which we didn't see as a problem as long as she was actually learning and getting better. We figured that perhaps she's just hard-headed, as many Pits are, so we sent her back to him. The second time she came back and that very same day she went right back to how she was. This time when he came back, I asked him what specifically he did to make her listen, and he told me he couldn't tell me his methods in case I wanted to open my own dog training business. Super helpful, Auburn, thanks. Between the second and the third time he took her, there were a couple of times we had Auburn simply come to talk to us about her problems, because she had gotten better (no thanks to him) so we thought maybe he didn't need to take her any more. All he really did was talk over us about how we weren't working with her enough and she wasn't getting enough exercise if she was acting the way she was (both of which were not true at all). I'm not sure what his methods are, exactly, but they did not work for my dog, who responds best to positive reinforcement. Auburn was told that this was a high-risk situation in which we were likely to get rid of the dog if he could not help us, yet he never answered our phone calls or called us back, let alone made house calls as he said he would. I do understand the issue with house calls, as we're farther out from him than most people are, but the most he could do was answer the phone or call us back. He couldn't even tell me what to do to get my dog to listen to me. It does no good to me if my dog will listen to Auburn and not me, the owner. I will be calling soon to get a refund and that refund will be going towards a (hopefully) better, more experienced trainer that will actually help me and my dog. read more

I just wanted to write a "quick" review explaining how great they were and give you a little of our background. I have 5 dogs and a baby, after my baby was born 10 months ago, my 3 females Ghost (white husky) Hazel (blue nose pit) and Tripod( 3 legged catahoula mix) started to get aggressive with one another, I'm talking about emergency vet visits and getting ready to take them to a shelter aggressive. I had a baby to think about. I contacted multiple "aggressive dog trainers" and they all said they could fix it and get rid of the aggression. Not Auburn though, he was honest saying there was no cure for aggression but he could train them to control it. I dropped Ghost and Hazel off the end of June. Tripod got dropped off the middle of July. Auburn kept me updated throughout the training and sent pictures, which I desperately needed. Today I am driving home with my 3 dogs, all in the car together, laying together, something that wasn't possible a month ago. They couldn't even be in their kennels in the same room without being aggressive and loud. I am so happy, almost crying as I write this review, I didn't think this day would ever happen, I'm so thankful for everything they have done to make sure my dog family was able to live together. read more

I wouldn't even give this place a star if I could. Beware. My dog was kept for over 8 weeks and she came back to me able to do a few basic things but I was promised that she would come back to me as a service dog. I have text messages to this effect but it is not the case. A choke chain was used to supposedly "pop" my dog. I took them a beautiful puppy and she came back as a cowering afraid dog that I can now not use as a service dog. Do not use this trainer! read more

I sent my German Shepherd to Auburn for "finishing school." She now has much better impulse control, listens to commands on a consistent basis, and is very well socialized. I can take her anywhere to meet anyone and she is very well behaved. In fact, she was recently invited to participate in a photo shoot about dogs visiting local businesses. My girl thrived on the training and thinks Auburn is the greatest. I would highly recommend K9 Solutions for any dog. Both the owners and the dog will benefit. Their relationship will be happier and the dog will be far more content. I plan on sending another dog to Auburn very soon. He's the best. read more

I wish I could give ZERO stars. We trusted this man, Auburn, to take care of our dog and after 3 weeks of in-house training we got nothing but a malnourished, infected wounds, worse off dog in return. We came to this company because we have an aggressive mixed breed that started showing his teeth to our human child and our options were to pay Auburn $2,250 to train our dog or put him down. We opted to put ourselves in debt over killing our dog because we were personally GUARANTEED by Nancy their admin, and Auburn the trainer, that this aggression was able to be fixed. We had a bad feeling when we dropped our dog off because the facility is dirty and unkept and there were dogs whining in the back room (not visible). Again, we persisted this training route to keep from euthanizing. We also provided the staff with a full box of food PLUS an extra 35lb bag (more than enough food for the estimated 6 weeks our dog was quoted to need). 2 weeks later we got a call that he was ready to be picked up (questionable considering they told us 6 to start but we were so excited to have our "new dog" home again). It was Easter weekend so we had to wait until the following week to take the almost 4 hour drive. When we picked up our dog he was excited to see us and they informed us they gave him a bath and tried to cut his nails. After being there for maybe 10 minutes, our dog showed no response to ANY of the commands Auburn gave him and our dog bit Auburn and this mans response?? He reached to hit our dog. Our dog had sores on his paws and looked very underweight (ribs and spine was visibly showing). Auburn told us it was just a licking habit our dog picked up while being crated. Something didn't seem right. He returned his food crate to us, EMPTY, and no 35lb food bag was given back either. Food being returned is not a big deal, but we buy a very expensive brand and to see our dogs spine and have no food returned was suspicious. So much more wrong happened while we were there that it seriously breaks my heart to think of what happened when we weren't there to witness Auburn. We took our dog to our vet immediately after coming home and he was 18lbs underweight from when we brought him in and those "licking sores" were severely infected that required antibiotics. Since bringing all of this to K9's attention through Nancy and Auburn because we wanted to bring authorities in for dog abuse, Auburn has since changed his phone number and held our dogs original vet paperwork hostage. We have made NUMEROUS attempts since April to contact Nancy and Auburn to have them mail the paperwork back to us because our vet needs the hard copy papers for our dogs follow up infection appointments. Don't trust your pet with this man who abuses animals and overcharges for services. There are plenty of other options, feel free to message me for more information! FYI, in Auburn's county, animal abuse by the SPCA is defined as "failing to meet the basic needs of the animal" i.e. not providing food and water and failing to have our dogs paws looked at where the sores developed while in his care. read more
