Once again, local, national, and even international performances I have watched comedic acts here... including the owner as well as famous acts I have watched movies here I have come here for film and discussion events My grandson has taken acting classes I have attended photo and art exhibits, as well as demonstrations There may be other opportunities that I am missing, but I have had the pleasure to attend many interesting events at this venue. The owners are very community oriented and have done a really nice job bringing cultural events and workshops to our small city. Definitely worth checking out!

The thought of seeing things from Edison was sure appealing. The though of the laboratory where sound was added to film was interesting. So I went to the Museum. The Back door was open but I noticed a sign that said to go to the front door, the back was for deliveries. So to the font door. LOCKED. with a sign that said May 15th (two weeks away) while they put in a new exhibit. Disappointing at best. The building is nice from the outside. I wonder what is in there? The Case Film Lab in back - was also locked and who know why I was not allowed to enter. I wonder when I will be in this town again. Moral - or at lest recommendation - Call ahead

The Carriage House Theater is a recently renovated multi-purpose space used for museum and community events.

I have been to this theater pre-covid in 2019 and after they opened again in 2021. Both fabulous shows (South Pacific and 42nd Street), both Broadway-level talent and professionalism. The theater itself is/was called the Merry Go Round Playhouse as it used to house a carousel. I believe the building is about 100 years old. The grounds are in a park and overlooking a lake, and there is a patio area and seating to enjoy wine and snacks before the show or during intermission. The restrooms (at least the women's) could use some extra attention and/or a renovation - they are small and not going to pass a stringent cleanliness check. Other than that, the experiences here have been a fun date night/road trip. If you like musical theater, this is a must do!

I've bought many things from the owner and he is very knowledgeable. I ask him anything about a specific piece and he knows what period it's from, it's history and its value. I've bought many things here that I love! My New York leg farm table, my room size oriental rug, my cherry lady's writing desk and several pieces of mid-century modern lighting all came from here. The owner personally quotes pricing and it's all reasonable.
