They almost doubled my rent price for a 10x10 after 2 months. This place is an absolute joke. Hole in the wall location. Price gouging rent increases. They sold me on a deal where for 3 months price was a discount, then increased some or a normal low rate and I chose the second option; a low rate that stayed consistent. The rate of 109 because I didn't want my rates to shift around. 2 months later they raised the price from 109 to 200+. I moved from somewhere with much higher square footage value and even the corporate storage rents were cheaper and they never would have done something like this maybe they just had class and decency unlike the owner of this company. I wish I never moved anything here now it's a job to get all my stuff out in a few weeks so I don't get ripped off. I wouldn't care if it was a company that had a lot of issues from the pandemic but they have virtually no expense increases. They're not producing anything. I doubt their workers will get a raise. Their costs aren't going up. They are just about doubling their prices on a service that is no more valuable than it was yesterday. I have been renting a storage unit at Auburn Self Storage on Nevada Street in Auburn CA, for 9 months now. It has been a great experience with Auburn Self Storage in a stressful time for me. The manager Ted has been so helpful. I had a larger unit and after a few months was able to downsize to a smaller unit, saving a bit of money. Ted put me on the waitlist and a unit was available in about 6 weeks. Ted was very helpful with transitioning my payments so it wouldn't cost me extra. The lot and units are clean and there are security cameras. I would definitely rent at Auburn Self Storage on Nevada Street again... I'm still there! But would recommend Auburn Self Storage on Nevada Street in Auburn CA to everyone. [I read the negative review by Shelby N she has written 6 reviews on other places and they are all only 1 or 2 stars all negative... I think they posted about the wrong storage place. Nothing matches with Auburn Self Storage... names are wrong. Ted has been at this location for decades.] That review needs to be removed. read more

DON'T RENT A UNIT HERE UNLESS YOU WNAT TO GET SCREWED OVER BY THE OWNER!!! Terrible is an understatement. The units are not insulated as well as they say they are. We had leaking in our storage unit which they did not care about. Each individual unit is not completely separated so whatever bugs or smells your neighbor has you now have in your unit. We had an incident with our u-haul and their rain gutter. U-haul did not want to cover the expenses even though we purchased the insurance. The owner then decided to charge us $500 for the damage. Which her maintenance did not even fully fix. So pretty much they came up with a number and pocketed the rest. If you look around there are a lot of dents and dings throughout the building that are not even fixed. Renee does not care about fixing the damages on her building she just cares about Screwing you and taking the money. We had the biggest u-haul that you can get. It was down to crunch time of their gates locking at 7:00 p.m. and we were trying to hurry to finish unloading and to get out. There is not nearly enough Room to maneuver a huge U-haul through their storage but yet she's more than happy to pocket money if you happened to hit a rain gutter. We pay her the damage and are unit fee every month. 3 months later she then decides to get attitude with me and tell me that we no longer have access to our unit at all untill the damages are paid in full! To be clear when her and I 1st made the payment arrangement for the damage over the phone she stated that we were not allowed in our unit unless the office was opened and someone was there. I agreed because she was worried that we would pack up are storage and not pay her the fee for the damages. This I understood. In the end we are the ones that hit the rain gutter and even though Uhaul would not cover it with the insurance we knew we had to take responsibility and pay the damages but 3 months later she then decides to say that she herself has to be on the premises. She is now lying and backpedaling on what our agreement was. Over all experience has been completely terrible in all ways! She is now holding our stuff hostage untill we can pay off the damage fee! Don't forget she gets paid every month for our rental unit and for the damages but she still wants to get attitude!! If it were possible to rate this business and her any lower I would!! read more
