This is my sweet baby Belle (renamed) that I adopted from Auburn Valley Humane Society. When I went in looking for a kitty to adopt it was a mostly painless process but which ones were available to adopt was a little confusing but after asking I figured it out. They found my baby outside of the Auburn Mall and being that she was a stray, she's very timid and what we call "a scaredy cat" lol. It's been such a blessing watching her blossom and become her crazy, sparky self. Thank you auburn valley for saving her so I could become her mama. Would definitely adopt from them again.

My previous dog passes away in 2018 and I didn't think I could ever get another. He was a special dog. My goodness was I wrong! This girl I adopted from the Auburn Valley Humane Society was exactly what my husband and I needed. And I can't say thank you enough to the Humane Society, after my hour meet-and-greet I knew I was adopting right then and the staff shared in my excitement and made it a wonderful experience. The staff is super sweet and they do everything they can for the dogs and cats they have. Very clean and welcoming place!

Went for this guy, after a few conversation I was told he was very scared and snapped at the vet! The last call I was told I could see him in a day or two. Day one of two they IM me saying the long search since 2017 his family found him and he was so happy. I'm happy bout that, but I haven't seen this happy family reunion picture up here! I feel they put him down no fault of his knowing the breed! I just feel I was lied to!

These people care about animals and help place kitties and pups , birds, and other small animals in loving homes. You can support them with donations or by shopping at their thrift store. I do!

I got here taking a child I work with for their cat reading program. All the cats seem to be very well taken care of! I love how the cats/kittens are in cat rooms inside of cages. They have cat trees, blankets, and toys for all the cats. In the cat reading program, children can read to cats and the kittens! It's a lovely idea for the cats to be associated with people and helps with kids' reading! The cats are so cute and I love the rooms!

Tucked away at the foot of Lakeland Hills entry off "A" street, is a well kept, clean, bright humane society. Their prices for adoption of adult cats is much higher than Seattle, however, that did not deter me from adopting my new family member. Not only is the environment bright, clean and roomy, I was impressed with the modern electronic technology for the adoption process which cuts down on paper. There are also assigned meeting rooms to meet and greet your potential cat, which is a plus before buying.

    My sweet new kitty

I went on their website and set up a meet and greet with a kitty and the process couldn't be smoother. I came to my appointment and the two ladies at the front desk were great. Super personable and kind and answered all my questions and were also very kind to my little ones. Exceptional staff! I definitely would recommend this place to anyone looking for a fur baby. Thanks to them my kitty now has a fur ever home. :)

They adopted my stolen dog from CA they said they did not have to scan her?! Ridiculous think to say if all places have to scan for a chip!

If i can give a minus 100!! I would. This place takes in dogs from California and DOES NOT SCAN THEM. My dog was stolen from me last year in March 2017 i live in Los Angeles and she ended up in Washington!! The avid chip was reported as a stolen/missing dog and they didn't scan Pixie. I found out after when i was given a tip of information that she was in Washington and i saw they ADOPTED HER OUT TO ANOTHER PERSON. I SPOKE TO THE Manager and she said she couldn't do anything about it because she was already adopted out. They said they couldn't contact the new owners and not even let them know of the situation and this was insane. They wouldn't take responsibility of fault. She was then returned to the shelter by the first family and yup again she was adopted out with a stolen chip on her. Finally on April 26 2018 I received a call from Olympia animal services that they had my stolen dog!!! Thank god for answering my prayers!!! And yesss i booked the first flight to Washington to pick up my dog. !!! She is back in California where she belongs with me. Please ask this place to scan for a chip, not to just take in dogs from other states and not do investigating and knowing very well that Pixie was reported as a stolen dog!!!!!! Had no sympathy to call me the second time and nooooo will power to make things right. Shame on you! Auburn Valley " humane society"

What a bright and beautiful environment to find a new Puppy or Kitty!

I was in a pretty helpless position as I was not due to be home for several days. My son came up with a great idea and checked online to see if our dog had been found and turned in to the RASKC. Sure enough, she was there. My wife went down the next morning, paid the fee and picked her up. She had been well treated, and we are very thankful that they found her and gave her a good safe place until we could come get her. My son said that she was so excited to see him. She cried and whined, and fell asleep in his arms in the car. Thank you very much

I waited through a list of 8 people and when I got to the top i was randomly dropped to number 5 again. I waited again. the third time i was at the top, I went to the adoption center they said my name was nowhere on the list at all. it went on and on! I was there for 2 hours of this. I know that you are underfunded but really--why is this so bizarrely inept and broken? Just make a PAPER LIST and call us, like a restaurant hostess would do. Dealing with Tamera was the one of the top 5 worst experiences I've had in my life…read more This is a SHADY rescue that I DO NOT recommend! I can relate to all of the other negative reviews. When I called to inquire about adopting a puppy Tamera sounded as if she cared. She seemed knowledgeable & acted like she cared about the dogs she was putting up for adoption. After I agreed to adopt the puppy she asked if I'd like to also adopt the older male dog that was her kennel mate. I agreed. It all turned bad after I put in my application & provided many photos of my home. She quit calling back when she said she would. She then moved up the date to meet for pick up. She explained that the male was getting neutered & said I could get the pups on Saturday instead of the original day, Sunday. She told me she would text last night to give me a meet up date/time. I was up late last night & was wondering if I was even going to get them, because she started being horrible about getting back to me & just kept telling me "I work 18 hours a day." I had even offered to drive to Auburn from Ocean Shores to pick up the pups. She refused & insisted we meet up. After failing to text me last night she finally texted this morning & provided a place to meet up & gave a time of 4:30 pm. Just as we were walking out the door she called to change the time to 6 pm & informed that the male is infected with "Coccidia"...a worm. I wouldn't even have been able to see the dogs at 6 pm at night! She took the male in to be neutered on Friday knowing full well he was infected with a parasite! She stated that she had been treating him for 3 days & then said "the puppy doesn't show any signs of it, but I treated her anyway." My roommate was present, I was on speaker phone, so he is a witness to EVERY conversation. She was informed, during the interview, that we had just had to have our chi/mix that we had for 10 years put to sleep on 12/7 due to cancer of the lining of her stomach. Well, a puppy can EASILY get dehydrated & die from Coccidia! If these puppies had died, I would've been EVEN MORE devastated, because I just lost my beloved dog. What I'm really wondering is why she didn't tell me 3 days ago? My roommate finally said "enough is enough, there is something wrong with this rescue, call & talk to her & if she doesn't offer to make this right just cancel." I was so excited about getting the pups! I had so much time, money & emotions into buying their supplies, setting up for them, getting the food she recommended, etc. I was staying up late nights stressing about everything to be all prepared for them. I was watching updated training videos & had invested a lot. I can't even return the food, or the expensive crate (she told me to get a larger one than what I originally ordered). When I called to discuss this with her she didn't even apologize, she YELLED at me & was so unreasonable! I have text messages for proof. She told me that she was "transparent" with me. If she were transparent she would've been HONEST about the dog being infected with parasites 3 days prior to today! I have a genetic autoimmune disease & my immune system is compromised due to the meds that I take, I told her that during the interview. Some types of Coccidia can be transmitted from dogs to humans. Changing of times, failure to contact me on many occasions, were all understandable. HOWEVER, HER FAULURE TO BE HONEST ABOUT THE HEALTH OF THE DOGS WAS NOT ACCEPTABLE! When I called her I expected professionalism, I thought she might apologize & offer to hold the dogs until she was sure they were cleared of the parasites... No, she immediately got agitated & YELLED at me! She then admitted that the puppy had some loose stools & when I asked, she informed that they had just been rescued 2 weeks ago. I had adopted my Chi/mix from a rescue through Petfinder, previously, & it was a wonderful experience, so I didn't expect any issues. I will definitely be researching any rescue I work with after this NIGHTMARE! She doesn't have the pets welfare in mind, because she told me not to take the puppy outside until she was 7 months old & her immune system was fully developed. Yet, she put a 3 1/2 month old puppy with a 1 year old Chi/mix that is infected with parasites! If you read the other reviews, her neglect has caused dogs to die from Parvo! Then, she sent nasty texts lying about everything that took place & had the nerve to say "good luck adopting a dog." Tamera is ruining it for people who want to adopt to save animals lives & provide loving homes because they won't be able to trust rescue agencies after the emotional roller coaster she puts people through. Then she is emotionally & verbally abusive after all of her failures to simply be honest! Why is she allowed to work in this field? She should be charged with animal cruelty & neglect! In fact, I am calling the police & I am going to research every animal protection agency I can to report her!
