If you are black do not go to this barber shop. It seems like a great shop if you have white, arab, or straight hair but if you have black hair this will be the worst haircut you will get in awhile. Fred's Cut and Style is an old school barbershop and I've been getting my haircut here for just over 3 years now and I don't plan on going any where else for quite some time. This is the kind of barbershop where you and your friends can hangout for a little bit and catch up, talk trash about last nights game, talk politics, make fun of one another and just be guys. It's the kind of place where Auda (the barber) will greet you by name if you've been in before or introduce himself and learn your name if its your first time into his shop. Auda (pronounced a thousand different ways, but I've settled on Audi like the car) is the new Fred by the way. I'm telling you right now that all men need a good barber to keep them straightened up... a barber you can trust to get it just right the first time and to keep getting it right. Ah, who am I kidding... you fellas already know what I'm talking about. Fred's Cut and Style is the place and Auda is the barber. And remember that a good barber is worth the drive. I hate to write a bad review (actually I registered just to write this) and say something bad about employees who work there, but there is something I really don't understand. Today actually was my second visit there, and I thought maybe I'm not going to see that problem again, but same thing happened. CELL PHONES. Yes, the stylist guys use their cell phones while they are cutting your hair. I don't know what is going on there, but if you're working on my head and neck area you should be careful and use your BOTH hands to do your best! We just moved to Edmonds and we live 5 mins walking distance to this barber. When I actually cut my hair there a month ago everything was good just before someone called to my barbers cell phone. First thing I was expecting was that he is going to refuse the call and continue my haircut, BUT he walked AWAY! After couple minutes he returned back while other barber guys were watching TV and playing with their phones. And today when I walked in... EXACTLY the same guy was sitting and Facebooking or something, and he called me to sit on his chair. I refused and told him I will wait for another barber, who was working with other customer. After 10 minutes he finished and then owner or manager came into the room and was surprised how come I am waiting while that guy was playing with his cell phone. And he asked him a question something in their language ( I guess he asked him why he is not cutting my hair ), and he pointed to another guy who was busy. Owner came to me and said "Are you waiting for Enzo?" and pointed to the "busy guy", and I said "Yes". BUT after he finished he asked the owner that he should go to pick up some paperworks and he will be back after an hour and half. Ok guys, thanks for a great experience :-) After that I told the owner that I am not going to wait and just went home without getting any haircut done. Sorry guys, but I had to write this review and show my concern about using that cell phones at work and walking away while your work hours. PLUS using cell phones not just IMPOLITE, but it also distract you which is not safe especially when you're working with scissors. read more

Dont go here if you're Transgender I went here because they were close to my home and I had read reviews saying they are friendly and welcoming, so I thought I would give it a shot. I walked in and they turned me down even though there were plenty of open chairs. They told me that the guy who could do girl cuts would be in tomorrow. I understand this. I look like a girl. So I told them that i wanted a boys cut, not a girls cut. He still refused to do it, saying he "couldnt" and to come back tomorrow. thats bullshit hair is hair my hair is no different from anyone else cut my hair like you would someone who you percieved as male i didnt feel welcome and I took my business elsewhere. read more

Started taking my then....eightish? year old son here a few years ago when he finally revolted against going to my hair salon and stylist in Edmonds ( "Mom, I am not a chick!) The first time we went in I asked the guy "are you Fred" and he replied in an accent "No, I am NOT Fred". Ever since then when my son starts to look a little shaggy or the school starts harrassing him to get a haircut we head of to "Not Fred's" Auda, the barber, is a friendly- family oriented guy with a real talent.
