Love this place. Excellent new stadium with good access to food and beverage. Parking near the stadium is definitely challenging so look at public transport as an option. My first ever professional soccer (football, hahaha) game ever at a brand spanking new stadium. I can now say that I have been to every Washington, DC professional sport venue and this by far is the BEST!!! I ordered tickets on line and the week before the game, DC United Marketing team called me knowing this was my first game ever to welcome me to the new stadium and ask me if I had any questions! The entrances on the NW, NE corner of the stadium move quickly as long as people listen and have all of there items out of their pockets before going through the magnetometer (keys, phones, wallets, glasses). They have a clear bag policy, so ladies buy a clear backpack or purse or you will be subject to paying $15 to leave your purse in one of the lockers outside the stadium. It seemed like the entry to the stadium is paperless because everybody had their tickets on their phone and you just scan the barcode. There are plenty of eateries inside the stadium that are mostly Latin based and the food looked good, but I had already eaten and the prices were Disney-high!!! There is not a bad seat in the house, I was in section 118, Row 10, just above where the players exit the locker room onto the field and directly across from the "Screaming Eagle' section...if you have ever watched soccer on tv and see the whole stadium rocking and jumping and singing from beginning to end, that is the Screaming Eagle section with drums and all. I can't wait to go back for another game!!! read more

Great new stadium, if you know the history and challenges of DC United getting a stadium in the District, than this is a huge moment and it's great to see it finally here, with DU United having their own stadium. The stadium has some great features, the architecture, the quality of food options (lots of American and Hispanic), makes sense when you consider fan base. Many of the options are food trucks you see in the District which is a great idea, not just your typical concession stand. Buy the Souvenir cup and you get free refills all game for $9 and then you can bring the cup back and continue to get refills all season (love that idea). Our seats where behind the goal, $25, but you could see everything and were able to really see the play develop, there is not a bad seat in the stadium, it is very close together and intimate, it creates great noise and has an amazing view of DC if you are sitting in the south stands. Also liked the South Stand because you can see the main video board really well. This is also the side the players come and go from so it's a good opportunity for picture opps and autographs before and after the game. The stadium was a packed and so for sure the concourse was tight, probably could have been a little wider, I am sure the vendors will figure out how to line up their queues to make the crowd not overflow into where everyone is walking, it's new, they'll figure out the kinks and it'll be find, this is no reason to not go to a game. Only other feedback I have is have kids items at the concession stand (check the Baltimore Orioles kids options), they know how to do family friendly, and I'm sure you could learn from them DC United, but I'll still come. Seriously though a kids menu or just a few items at family friendly prices would be terrific. So thankful the stadium is here now, it's the bomb, I can't give it "As Good as it gets", because it doesn't have the history yet and I've been to many European stadiums, but within MLS, it's "As Good as it Gets, well done DC United. read more

I attended a DC Defenders game and am happy to say I was allowed to bring in an empty water bottle to fill at a water fountain. Yay! I also learned that there is an entire side where the seats go so high that you are possibly in another altitude. Beware, if your seats are on either end zone in row 20 or higher, you better be in good shape! read more

I've been to Audi field a few times for DC United games, a UMD vs. UVA game, and for a Walk With Locals event, so I've spent my fair share of time walking around the stadium. Game Experience: I've always had positive experiences at the games (even if my team doesn't win). The event staff generally move people through the gates pretty quickly. I've never been stuck in a long, slow line. The inside of the stadium has a couple of areas that are tricky to navigate because of how the good vendors are set up and the lines blocking through traffic, and that's honestly my biggest complaint. Pretty good view from most places in the stadium (though sitting next to the fan section at a DC United game is a unique experience that I whole heartedly recommend). Food: I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I had tacos at a soccer stadium, and I didn't hate them. They do have the typical stadium fair, but also pupusas and tacos. Haven't tried a ton of the food (the stadium is super close up Navy Yard so we often just walk over to one of the restaurants there), but what I have had has been good. Not mind blowing, but do you go to sports stadiums for mind blowing food? Views of the field and the stadium are great. Good place to catch a game. read more

Another shining star arena graces the waterfront of DC and catapults our DC United team into international standards of stadiums. Continuing the trend of having high quality, diverse and unique food stall options, Audi is a 21st century stadium as beer hawkers also take credit cards, and some shops (Arepas and yuca fry establishments) going completely cashless. With plenty of options for price, a day-of ticket can range from $30-$300 with Stubhub being a great option as always and the guys selling $10 hats on the streets being the best option for last minute swag. The gift shop is large and well organized with tons of styles of jerseys and shirts on-sale. The stadium has a minimalist lay-out, very industrial with even the highest rafters having great views of the grass, so don't feel bad sitting in the nose bleeds. There's an open seating area that fills up quickly, and the fans section also fills up quickly with die-hard Screaming Eagles. They are happy to teach you the chants and their energy is infectious and heard across the stadium (I recommend sitting in the fan section for children of all ages, but you might here some foul mouths, and get some beer splashed on you during scores, so be warned). With blistering DC summers, you might want to favor sitting on the Western side, which becomes the most shaded by the start of later afternoon games. Get here 1 hour before the game, fill up on great food and beers and get ready to cheer for United (or your home team if you are "that person")! DC has a stadium we can be proud of!! read more

I saw a soccer game here with my daughter. The field was very well-maintained, the food was good and the line moved quickly. The game itself was fun to watch, although there was a 30 minute rain delay. When I go out, I walk with a cane because of knee problems. I was walking with some stress of an incline and a man named Trevor, who worked there, came running over with a wheelchair and not only took me for a ride, but also put me in a special handicap seating area. He went out of his way to be nice to me, as did the ushers in that section. My highest recommendation! read more

Everything @ Audi stadium maximizes the profit margin including: tiny chair seats, steep path to the seats, not enough restrooms, not enough egress stairwells. You wonder if the stadium architect ever heard of the Roman Coliseum which could seat three times more people and get them in and out three time faster. I think Audi started off poorly because the bag situation really threw people off. But they've since modified their bag policy and I think there's less people paying for lockers and throwing away their backpacks and stuff...yikes. Anyway. This stadium is great. I'd only been to RFK a handful of times and concessions were cheaper... but honestly the upgrade is good. It's good for D.C. United and it's good to have a shiny new seat and a slightly smaller arena so you can be cozy with the crowd. My complaints are same as others - parking is difficult and it is still kind of far from the metro. But also I want to complain about the fact that you can't really hear the local fan chants of Barra Brava / Screamin Eagles if you're sitting on the far side of them... and it really sucks when the visiting team has a decent showing and they're loud (cough NY). The Audi field is chic and very intimate. You can clearly see across different parts of the field depending on where you're sitting! I have a few tickets in the Eaglebank section so the seats get a great view of the field and all the behind the scenes action going on. The food served in the Eaglebank is a unlimited buffet and beer and wine. The food is great for it being free food, but honestly Idk if I would pay for it. There's usually a standard hot dog and chips and then a fancier meal with veggies. The waitstaff are super attentive and helpful. The bartenders are quick although seemed to be very unenthusiastic, but I still got served, so I guess that's what matters. Definitely go to a game at the Audi Field if you get a chance next season! read more

I don't really know how to approach this review. I came here for the Audi employee appreciation day event. Audi provided us with free parking, free shuttle to the field, food, face painting, $20 concession stand credit, and merch. I thought they did a great job with the atmosphere and all the amenities. Only gripe was the food they provided for the event was all cold and lacked flavor. Everyone that came with me agreed that the hog dog and the brownies were the star of the show... and that's a little sad. Now for the stadium itself: The process of getting through security was quick and easy, no lines for concession, and clean bathrooms. The field itself is very nice. However, parking is horrible (luckily DC United doesn't sell out) and the food is awful...just terrible. Our pretzel was stale (maybe several weeks old?) and our fries were crazy soggy. Beer is about $13 for a can, water $5 for a bottle. They do not accept cash at most concessions. I've now been to Audi Field twice in the two months since it opened. Both times have been amazing experiences. Design look and feel: Amazing. Enough said. Entrance: Lines are a tad sluggish but nothing that really bothers. I enjoy that they always give a program booklet. Seating: The climb to some seats (101-111 areas above the C seats) can be a bit much for some older folks that I've seen stop to take breaks at staircase landings. Having said that, the distance from hallway to seat is very short because the venue is small. That's very convenient for food/bathroom access. Every seat along the long axis is a good seat with great views. Food and drink: Being a smaller venue, there are fewer food options than at Nats Park, but the things I have tried have been well-executed. In fact, the pupusas are better than at many outside places that specialize in them. The Coca Cola machines that allow for fast unlimited refills are a notable plus over other stadiums. The lines at the bar (for greater beer selection, drinks and wine) are reasonable (prices aren't but that's par for the course in DC). Prices: I think one thing is certain. The DC United underestimated its fan base. Audi Field is way too small. Seat prices are therefore way too high in areas where they shouldn't be during games that aren't particularly special. They needed 25-50% (5K-10K seats) more capacity. I can't really deduct a star for this because once you get there the experience is good. I also wish season-ticket pricing was more transparent. Shop: Again overpriced just like at every other sports venue. But, the personalizing station is great and they have a good selection of items. (I hate wearing black but team colors are team colors.) Display: The stadium display is amazing, but I do have some suggestions. Please, please, run the extra time counter on the field display like they do on TV. Also, please run goal instant replays twice. Finally, when a red/yellow card is issued, it would help if it was explained on the display along with a replay because sometimes the announcer can't be understood over the fans. Final thoughts: So, in general this reads like a 4 star review, but I'm marking it 5 to offset some of the out-of-towners complaining about lack of parking or "sketchy neighborhood." Gimme a break! DC doesn't need more parking down there. That's what the metro, taxis and lyft/uber are for. And sketchy?! If you think the walk from the Navy Yard metro to the stadium is sketchy you've lived a very sheltered life. This is a city, not a planned gated community or a suburban mall. And finally about the clear bag policy which is the cause of most 1-star reviews, I have attached three pictures showing how they have highlighted that policy from day one. People claiming they weren't told are just plain lying. read more

What a disaster! We missed most of the first-half due to poor coordination and communication at Audi Field. When purchasing tickets online (whether by accessing the D.C. United website directly, Ticketmaster, or StubHub) you are never notified of the clear bag / no purse policy. Arrive at the stadium and there's at least 100 people (both men and women) waiting in the locker line to deposit their bags. Of course they run out of space and offer you to leave your bag on the grass (or above the lockers) for $20, but with no guarantee that it'll still be there after the event. They also wouldn't let guys deposit bags (camera bags, backpacks, etc.) saying that the lockers were for women with purses only. Seriously?! Clear communication shouldn't be difficult. Announce this policy when selling tickets, on the tickets, via email, etc. Provide more locker space if communicating this crucial detail is too difficult. read more

Wish I would have known that before getting into the line to buy something because I looked like a fool getting my card declined even though I had enough money to buy my family something :/ on my "debit card ". I'm not a die hard soccer fan, or a sports fan in general but when my boyfriend secured some free tickets from work to this venue, I thought I would give it a try. Pros: Brand new stadium, even "crappy" seats give you a great view, the closest I've been to a field for any type of sports game. Concessions were awesome, a ton of unique options for those who don't like to suffice just on a hot dog. I got mexican street corn, an arepa, and my boyfriend got *shudder* a hot dog and some fries. Prices are similar to all other sporting stadiums. Next time I definitely want to try the tacos! Good environment, really kid friendly with a TON of kids attending the game. Cons: Security line was long right at the start of the game. It was definitely hard to call an Uber at the end of the game and walking throughout some of the neighborhoods here could be frowned on. I would suggest taking the metro because it took about 25 minutes after the game for us to finally get an Uber home. In terms of this "clear bag rule" everyone is upset about, it clearly states on the site and when you buy tickets. People need to learn to research or look into things before they go. read more

The DC United organization (and MLS) have done it right! There is no product in sports that is as affordable, family friendly, and which provides the level of excitement as an MLS game. As for Audi Field, there is not a bad seat in the house, it is easily accessible by taking the green line, and with all the adjacent development, I expect the surrounding area will have even more to offer in the near future. read more

Audi Field is a perfect example of quality engineering and a diligent staff to not only bring a beautiful stadium to Washington, D.C. but also to keep it up and maintained to a level that fans can feel comfortable watching games here. While the location isn't ideal, D.C. is one of those cities where it's easy to get around (Uber, Bird, Lime, etc.) so you shouldn't have much of a problem coming down for a game. While the stadium isn't massive (there aren't really many MLS stadiums that are), they constructed it such that there really isn't a bad seat in the place. I think that DC United building a stadium was long overdue, well executed, and worth the wait. read more

The worst soccer stadium I've ever been too. Staff are horrible and rude. If you're trying to find your seat and follow the information board, you will go around the entire field. You will be asked to show your ticket multiple times although you have scanned your ticket prior to entering the stadium. Think about passing from the shop to bathroom, I got asked multiple times for tickets. It's ridiculous! If the staff has to ask me multiple time to show ticket on the ground (not even near the seating section), you guys must reevaluate your security check point. It's ridiculous! That's on of the reason why I do not renew season ticket. Horrible! Food and beverage? Absolutely horrible! Other than that, the team needs quality players. The DC United experience is already horrible. Imagine coming to the game to support the exact opposite team because they're horrible. But hey.. that's not my place to say. Preium seats experience is now over-run by people who are there to drink as much beer as possible in 75 mins - last call is in the 75th minute which they tell you now when you walk in the door. Food is not good in Eagle Bank. With each game it gets worse. Current management has ruined what used to be a lovely experience. It perfectly matches the team's current performance. read more

This is a beautiful stadium with excellent sightlines to the field all around, as well as views outward of DC. The seats are comfortable, although a little on the narrow side with people on either side of you. (And while I'm a little bigger than I'd like to be, I'm not a particularly large person.) Ticket prices are now higher than I think necessary, but I guess that's how the beautiful stadium is being paid for. The food vendors seem standard, without the uniqueness or DC-specific stands that Nationals Park has, which is fine but unfortunate. The food prices are what you'd expect at a modern stadium. The quality of my burger and fries was a little above the norm, which was a nice surprise. The team store is very good. It's a good size, with friendly staff members, and has plenty of merchandise at a wide range of prices. To me, most of the merchandise looked unique to the team store, in comparison to DC United gear I've seen around the area. Two notes. First, Audi Field is seemingly all stairs and a few elevators for moving floor to floor; it could use a couple ramps or escalators to ease things. Second, if you're driving, be aware that parking prices are _ridiculously_ high and departure from the stadium area is very time-consuming. Really, don't bother driving unless you have no choice or an open wallet and unlimited patience. My only major complaint is that being a soccer fan and expecting a single-use stadium, I was very disappointed to see the field torn up and bearing the faded lines from professional lacrosse. read more

Last game there was a fight over popcorn of all things. Friend missed most of first half trying to get food for my kids. Why would they design a new stadium with too few Men's rooms? Audi Field is cool, fresh and innovative. I see them building up the area around it which will be great. Right now it's a little hidden gem in the cut. Access into the stadium is easy breezy. I didn't like the card only concession stands but hey, what can you do? Everything inside is easy access. The field is bright and great visibility with a large screen for you to view as well. That was a huge plus when catching replays. The crowd was enjoyable. We will definitely be back. It was a blast!! read more

The new Audi field is fantastic and (not surprising) a major upgrade from RFK. The food in the club level is great quality with a large variety of types of food to choose from. I do think they need help in the bar service area as it takes forever to get a drink. I think it would be better to have a separate bar in the club area for paid drinks and then one for the free beer and wine. Great views of the field and the stadium is in a super convenient location now. One thing I will note is to be sure to check the bag policy before coming, they are very strict on purse sizes that are allowed in the stadium, even my small crossbody was turned away and I had to rent a locker for the games duration. read more

I enjoyed the smaller venue that soccer only stadiums create. I experienced the stadium seating that also involved all you can eat and free drinks until 70 minute. Every seat has a great view...but the parking is horrible. D.C has a lot of issues. Traffic and parking is probably the most common complaint. I don't understand why when someone builds a stadium it doesn't have a large parking garage added to building plan. This is the center of our government and the city doesn't plan for parking for an event. read more

When you're an Atlanta fan I guess you can bring in your own purse! I've been on the fence about the new stadium and all the changes and this just pushed me over the edge. It all started for me with the change of the supporter section and the lack of. For the people that support this club no matter what I feel get treated the worse. Our seats got down graded, no amazing parking lot to tailgate, no club section for food or drinks but I guess the increase of security in the section should make us all feel better (see pic). Speaking of security!!! How horrible can they be? They are simply just rude! Getting through security is another issue! How slow can they be? When you finally get up there you don't understand what is taking so long. The lines are longer and worse than airport security. At least most TSA know the rules and if something is wrong they pull you to the side. By the time you get through security you miss the start of the game. I had an issue bringing in a camera that was under the 8 inch rule. After 45 minutes and having to go down to a different gate to get in not one person knew the rule off the top of their head or even had a measuring tape to show it was over 8 inches to turn me away. Now you are finally in and want food and drinks! Such limited options and unlike going to a Nats game you can't bring anything in! Eat better food before you come and spend your money locally! I have so much more I can say but will end with I'm not sure how much my love for the sport and the players to return next season for all the crap and for you to get my money! read more

I went to Audit Field for two local festivals that took place there, not for a sporting event. I will update my review once I attend a game. The field looks new and beautiful. The restrooms were nice and there are signs around directing you to the seats and your area. We visited the Eagle Bank Club, it was a very spacious area. We didn't get access to the seating area, only the club space. There were drink machines in the club with soft drinks, water, and lemonade. I would assume these are included with the Eagle Bank Club tickets. There is some street parking around the stadium which is metered. There are also garages up the street closer to Nat's stadium. We had food inside one of the clubs, the space was called the Chase Lounge for the event. I am not sure if that is the regular name or not, but the desserts provided were delicious. I wish I knew who catered. The venue was nice and convenient for the event and I look forward to going back for a game. read more

Won tickets to the game and had the opportunity to take in a earpy summer nights game at Audi. Transportation down to the field is fairly easy due to the number of access points set up for Nationals field. Uber, and other rideshares pick up and drop off at Nationals park for Audi field, so expect a 2/3 block walk. The same for metro stations, and the water taxi. This is nice because the let out isn't as bad as at Nats Park or FedEx, but a pain if you're in direct competition for an Uber. I was impressed at the space. Admittedly, I have never been to a pure soccer stadium so I was expecting an arena bowl style seating. All of the seats looked to have an excellent view. The home supporters kept the match lively and the cheers going when the rest of the crowd go lulled. The field was in too shape despite having endured a heat wave, and even though the day of the match the temp topped out at 95, it was very comfortable at the 8 o clock kick off. We had access to the Heineken Club, which is the all you can eat / drink component. There is a caveat, it is beer and wine only. Mixed drinks and spirits must be paid for and are VERY light pours. The food was good, the night we were there it had hot dogs, crab dip, old Bay fries, shrimp, general tsos, Cobb salad, noodles , spring roles, rice, nacho bar. There were also sweets such as brownies and cookies, perfect for my cheat day! Our seats were field level goal, and we were able to see most of the action live and whatever we missed, we picked up on the big screen. This would be a great event to bring soccer fans or kids to. The atmosphere is very family friendly. read more

Bad news: -Concession lines are ridiculously slow regardless of when you go (expect at least 20 minutes even during game play) - If you want soda, be prepared to wait in those same lines, but you can get a beer almost immediately from the plethora of beer vendors walking around (not a good message btw, Audi Field). -Security staff is a little over zealous (seriously, they tried to deny me entry because my keychain has a TSA compliant can opener on it...no joke), plus only clear bags allowed. read more
