Audio Advice has tremendous customer service. I began working with Ivan Halbach 3 years ago when I wanted to buy a turntable to play records I'd saved after my father passed away. Ivan was extremely knowledgeable and steered me away from budget turntables (a theme that would reappear) and toward something with higher build quality and longevity. He hooked me up with a Rega P3 with a Musical Surroundings Phonomena II+ phono stage and Ortofon 2M bronze cartridge. This combination has been an outstanding starter and completely reignited my passion for vinyl. So much so that it lead me down a path of improving each part of my 2-channel audio system. Shortly after this purchase, my old receiver died. Ivan helped me with an Anthem MRX 720 due to it's outstanding proprietary room correction, solid construction, and excellent pre-amps for music.Since then, Ivan has answered innumerable questions from me, let me try equipment out at home (not everyone does that), and allowed me to arrive at conclusions on my own. I've made subsequent improvements to my speakers, phono cartridge, cables and power supplies. I am continuing to invest as much as I can in my system because I have learned from experience that you never regret improvements in quality, buy you may regret rush purchases of lesser-quality equipment. My experience with Audio Advice has been long standing and they have never let me down. My relationship is based on their dedication, knowledge and professionalism. I recently contacted my audio representative, Ivan Halbach, whom I have known and trusted for many years with questions pertaining to upgrading my speaker system. Even though it has been a few years since I last talked with Ivan, he remembered me and immediately took time to explain my options. I scheduled an appointment and eventually ended up purchasing a beautiful pair of Aerials 6T's speakers. There was no pressure to buy as I was allowed as much time as I needed to listen to them in a private room without interruptions. IN REGARDS TO ONLINE SALES:: Not only did the issue take too long to respond to, the agent Tommie spoke with me and apologized for the issue, and would try to help me with my issues.. As a paying customer, I expected my order in 2 days, it came in 4... When it was received the entire order was completed ransacked. The box had been torn wide open and taped backed up on both sides as if someone had opened it already. Also, upon receiving the box, I YouTubed an unraveling of the item I purchased just to find out there had, IN FACT, been PARTS MISSING (** SPEAKER CAPS) TO BE SPECIFIC!!! I was furious and called the company to complain and issue a refund. A guy named Erick in the warehouse rushed me off the phone as if he HIMSELF STOLEN THE PARTS...Spoke with a guy Tommie, and though polite was a total idiot himself. He told me he could try to get the item returned shipped back out on the next business day..and HE DID NOT. It's going on 2 weeks since I made the purchase received it late, returned the item, and still have not received a tracking number for the reshipped NEW item....... I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE NOR PURCHASE ANYTHING ELSE FROM A THIRD PARTY.. I RECOMMEND STICKING WITH MORE COMMERCIAL RETAIL *AS in BEST BUY..ETC.... OR PURCHASE FROM THE PRODUCER OF THE PRODUCT.. THE HEADACHE AND LOSS OF TIME ARE NOT WORTH IT. read more

I saw a great price on an Anthem MRX1120 Receiver on the site ($2799.99). Asked in chat if they had it in stock and at the discounted price. They said yes and it was the last day of that lower price. I ordered it and printed out my order confirmation. I awaited an EMail of shipping tracking details. I got no follow up for a few days so decided to ask about the order, especially as my credit card had been charged over $3000. I got passed from the first guy to 'Jeff' who said there was a problem with the order and it had been flagged by the fraud detection system!!! I use this card all the time on line and there is never a problem. I called Amex and they said it was not an issue with the card or us and the order would have gone through without a problem. Jeff said the order can not be processed and offered no other solution and denied that it was an issue on their end. I can only imagine that they didn't want to honor the discounted price especially as the receiver is now back up to $3499. So they either are not setup to handle online orders properly, or they don't want to honor their advertised prices. Either way I would not trust these guys with your money. There are plenty of other better options out there for online purchases. read more

I found Audi Advice in Raleigh, NC over a decade ago. I was amazed by the quality of the equipment along with the knowledgeable staff. While I did not have the money to purchase a complete Home Theater solution, Ivan worked with me to review the equipment that I was using at the time and came up with a plan to work within my budget. Over time, I upgraded equipment with Ivan's recommendations. I see him as a consultant rather than a salesperson, and I have never been unsatisfied with his recommendations. During one of his visits to take measurements for installing speakers in my ceiling, he tuned my audio and video system. Without asking him, he pulled out tools from his magic bag to take sound and length measurements to fine tune my audio system, and he also calibrated my Sony Bravia. What a difference he made. The audio channel separation is more prominent, and the video is more vivid than before his changes. I would like to thank Audio Advice for recruiting such a talented staff. Everyone there has always made me feel welcome and I would also like to thank Steve for looking over some of my equipment. I look forward to working with them for another decade. read more

First I'd like to start off saying this is a review of their customer service not their service skills. I called on Wednesday August 6 to have a salesperson contact me in reference to networking my home into a smart home with an integrated alarm. I left my name and contact information and was told a salesman would contact me that day or by Friday. No one ever called so I decided to go to the store in Raleigh on Saturday, August 9. After waiting about 5 to 7 minutes an older gentleman finally asked if I needed any kind of help which we discussed briefly and then he told me to fill out a customer card. I filled out the card but no one ever came back after another 5 to 8 minutes of waiting. At this point I decided to leave the store and take my business elsewhere. The main reason I had chosen this store was all the positive reviews on their website, how long they had been in business, and that they were a local business. Again this is a review only on their customer service not their technical service or installation skills. read more

Michael & Clare, Charlotte, NC. We recently asked the Pineville branch to provide us with an estimate and to sort out our internet and audio system. The internet was provided by Specturm but needed networking for a large house. Also, the house had all the wiring but no suitable equipment for TV & audio. Robert came out punctually, assessed our needs, proposed a cost effective option and 3 weeks later, Brian and Rob came out and worked virtually the whole day, Brian to re-configure the internet and put in 2 routers, and Rob to put in a new TV and utilize our old speakers for the audio. They were very neat and tidy, clearly knew what they were doing, and accommodated our requests for modifications. Not everything that was originally ordered was used and this was taken back and refunded, with no questions asked. They got on with their work, did not complain about any issues and at the end of the day, we were simply stunned by how well everything worked and was installed. We cannot recommend them too highly. I recently engaged Audio Advice of Pineville, NC to design and implement new audio/video systems for our home in Fort Mill, SC. This included state-of-the-art video and audio streaming in our living and family rooms, Ultra HD 4K TV's, and universal remotes. Sono's equipment lets us select music from our network attached drive or internet sources to any or all three zones via an Ipad. Dustin Clemens, our system designer knocked it out of the ballpark. We love the capability the system gives us and it works perfectly. The universal remotes made the learning curve very easy and Dustin's recommendation to add a remote for my 92 year old mother-in-law for audio/video in her room was icing on the cake. We recently moved to the area and our home was prewired for an audio system. We needed help and advice to get the system running and updated with todays technology. I have been wanting to mount our television in our living room for quite some time now. I wanted to balance out the walls in our living room that have paintings hanging on them and have a safer place for our TV considering we have a very active son that love playing his Wii. I figured that mounting the TV on the wall was the solution to both. As a proud DIM, I planned on installing the TV on my own. However, I got nervous that I would make a mistake and our expensive TV might fall and break. Therefore, I decided to have it professionally done. The two gentlemen from Audio Advice were very polite and professional. I was really impressed with the efficiency in which they worked and the quality of the end result. What can I say? I bought my first turntable from these folks back in 1980 and after pulling it out of storage after 30 years they got it up and running as if new. How many places would have tried to sell me a new one rather than repair a 40 yo product? I also bought a decent Sonos system there wanting to play the usual app songs but also play my oldies on the turntable and have it pipe throughout the house. I tried setting it up myself but technology is not my strength plus I wanted the Sonos to interface with my home stereo system. Not a problem. In comes Ivan (I swear he may have sold me my original turntable :)) and within an hour everything was working just as I had planned. I've been doing business with Audio Advice since 2001 when they designed and built my first home theater. I am a audio geek so I wanted a theater system that also was able to give me the highest quality audio to listen to my Super Audio CD's (SACD). They were able to give us the best of both audio and video using Genelec studio monitors, Lexicon DSP, and Runco video projector. Audio Advice has guided me through 3 upgrades to my audio and video over the year. I currently have the same Genelec studio monitors (still the best IMO) and a Sony 4k projector, with a Stewart 2.35:1 widescreen configuration. I just purchased a second home and am looking forward to Audio Advice designing and building a new theater. These guys take great pride in what they do. With several consultations with Brooke with their online support, I ended up visiting the store in Raleigh to check out some of the components we talked about. I was fortunate to have purchased a custom pair of Klipsch Forte's on Facebook and being an "old school" guy I had no idea what the new electronics would sound like with those speakers. I was able to demo some awesome products and finally settled on what worked with my budget and my needs. I was amazed when I came home from work a few days later and my wife informed me that they had actually delivered all of my order to my house rather than having me stop at the store to pick everything up. Our purchase was relatively modest; we needed only speakers to complement our existing Parasound stereo equipment.
