It had been almost two years since her last exam but when I asked if they should check her again, the lady told us "ears don't get worse over two years. Mom still had problems with here hearing aids after dealing with Costco and she wanted to go somewhere else. I found Miracle Ear-Lacey had the best Yelp reviews and took mom there. I was impressed. But mom couldn't stop talking about how impressed she was with Gene Bowling. About how he explained everything in detail, how he spoke directly to her, how he annunciated every word so she could understand him, and how he made her hearing lose important and something he could help with. Gene suggested the cross-over because mom's left ear wasn't actually hearing anything and that her brain couldn't actually decipher what the left ear did hear. The cross-over is a mic on the left that transfers sound to the right ear. Her brain can decipher what is heard on the right side. Today, mom got her new hearing aids fitted and adjusted. Gene, again, treated my mom very well, explained everything, and he ensured mom could use the hearing aids well before we left. This place is really great! Gene is awesome! The cross-over hearing aids let my mom hear and understand! I can talk to her again! I can explain things to her and she is not confused! Take you loved ones to Miracle Ear in Lacey, you will forever be happy you did!

She ordered the wrong type so had to order the type that fits behind the ear with only a tube going into the ear canal. Well, after 4 weeks the right type of aids have apparently arrived but she doesn't have the fitting that connects the tube to the hearing aid so that now has to be ordered. I hope to have something that actually will fit into my ears next week (5 weeks after I signed to buy the aids). I now have to start making payments on the hearing aids although I do not have them. If you get your hearing aids here, make sure that they understand your specific needs when they order something so that you don't end up paying for something that you may never get. The whole mess is a matter of someone thinking they know what is best when they don't understand the problem.

Was referred by a renown doctor to be fitted for bicros hearing aids. Upon seeing the doctor at Complete Hearing and Balance (CHB) was told I didn't need them so I proceeded with the alternative she recommended. Three weeks later after being fitted for a custom ear dome, I haven't seen any improvement. Did follow-up with doctor who made the referral and told once again I needed bicros hearing aids and made appointment at his clinic for further evaluation. After spending $150 and $139 for the custom hearing aid for bad advice from CHB, CHB refuses to offer any refunds. I believe the balance testing was helpful and worth what I paid for it. I have used two other hearing aid providers and both of them never charged for consultation. Charging $150 and not owning up for bad advice is bad business practice.

On April 14, 2026, my son (14 years) had an appointment with Dr. Luke Pickar for a routine hearing…read moreexam. With my insurance, Regence, this should have been a covered in full as one routine hearing exam is covered per year. We went to the exam and the doctor asked why we were there and I stated to get a routine hearing exam to get a baseline for my kid because he wears headphones quite a bit. The exam was completed in less than 15-20 minutes and the doctor stated everything looked fine and there were not any issues. The problem arose when I received the bill. The routine hearing exam was not covered in full. None of my charges were covered in full as it actually was not charged as a routine hearing exam. I had four charges totaling $211.72. This is my cost after insurance pays their portion. The first charge was for an office visit for $200 (allowed amount $150.68). The code was 99203 which is new patient office visit 30-44 minutes. I disagree that there should be an office visit charge for a routine hearing exam but in this situation the code should be 99202 which is a new patient office visit from 15-29 minutes. After speaking to Regence, the billing would be ($98.01 allowable) for a visit lasting between 15-29 minutes. My appointment was at 7:30 am (the time they open so I could not have arrived and started appointment early) and after checking my Blink camera to verify what time my son and I arrived home, I verified that we arrived home at 8:04 am. We live 4.7 miles away and it takes 10 minutes. We couldn't have been there more than 24 minutes including check-in. The next two codes are 92557 (comprehensive audiometry threshold evaluation combined with speech recognition testing) charged at $120 (allowable $38.29) and 92567 (tympanometry, a diagnostic test that evaluates middle ear function by measuring eardrum movement in response to varying air pressure) charged at $60.00 (allowable $16.91). The final code is 92628 (covers the evaluation of a patient's candidacy for hearing aids, including assessment, counseling, and review of test results). This was charged at $500.00 (allowable $250.00). The review of the test results, which should probably be pretty standard, consisted of the doctor saying that everything was normal. When I first saw the bill, I assumed that there must be an issue that could be easily resolved so I called the billing department at Complete Hearing and Balance and spoke with Winter. She went over the charges and explained that the office visit charge is standard and that is how the doctors get paid for their time. I questioned the fact that a routing hearing exam was covered by my insurance and an office visit charge should have been disclosed but she reiterated that it was standard practice. She stated that you could get a hearing exam at Costco for free. I thought to myself that I didn't see that Costco took my insurance. The charge for code 92628 she said would be taken off and must have been added by mistake because many customers need hearing aids. I ended the call feeling that I need to ask medical providers billing codes and bill estimates prior to any appointment because my assumption that the covered services would be covered was incorrect. This morning, after sleeping on this a couple more days, I decided to call Regence to ask them if there are any providers that do routine hearing exams that are fully covered without an office visit charge. I had checked the list of providers on the regence website, and I only noticed similar audiology providers similar to Complete Hearing and Balance. The agent was not able to tell me if there were any providers that do not charge for an office visit in addition to a hearing exam. During this conversation, I got the billing codes and thought I might have a billing code for a routine hearing exam. I was encouraged by the agent to call Complete Hearing and Balance and ask for explanation or an audit of my bill. I spoke again with Winter. I gave her a code Z01.10 thinking that applied as a routine hearing exam. She said that it did not and explained that they do not do routine hearing exams and that they only do comprehensive hearing exams. I questioned why when they are an approved provider for my insurance that covers a routine hearing exam yearly and I believe what she stated was that insurance doesn't dictate the exam that they provide. She also told me that she contacted the provider and they will not be removing the $500.00 charge as this exam required the doctor's expertise as I stated I wanted to get a baseline because my son wears headphones quite often. To be clear, my son has never had any medical issues of any kind, did not complain of headaches, ear pain or anything. The test proved to be normal without any issues. We never spoke of ear care, the prospect of hearing aids or any pending issues. Be careful with this place. Make sure you get your billing squared away prior to your appointment. I wouldn't trust them again.

I am taking a moment to leave a positive comment (not to air some perceived grievance), because I…read morethink KP deserves applause! I want to express my deep appreciation for the high quality of medical care that Kaiser Permanente offers, and then expertly delivers. I have a ridiculous number of health problems. Virtually every system is a mess, which means that I also have raging depression and anxiety, as a bonus. But Kaiser Permanente takes excellent care of me. I see a group of doctors, and each specialist is well-versed on the various conditions I have. Due to the efficiency of having my constantly-updated medical charts and prescription lists easily accessible to every specialty, each doctor participates in coordinated care, geared to my needs. Each takes into consideration what the other doctors are doing, before recommending changes that could have an adverse ripple effect. At KP, I am treated as a whole person, not just as the sum of my broken-down parts. I'm so very grateful to be treated there with respect and kindness. Just walking from one area to another, you see smiles and hear words of encouragement throughout the building! If you'd like to have skillful and respectful care, I can't recommend Kaiser Permanente high enough. It's easier to trust doctors who listen intently and then will explain options, rather than those who always seem to be in a rush. MY experience with KP has been that I'm made a part of the discussion before treatment decisions are made. Kaiser P doctors understand that patients should be informed enough to be able to weigh in on their options. I'm confident that my care has been guided by intelligence, diligence, and a genuine desire to help me. The doctors and therapists of Kaiser Permanente have repeatedly gone the extra mile in the pursuit of the best possible solutions. Getting coordinated care is everything to me, since I'm considered "medically fascinating." At KP, I feel seen and heard, which has not always been the case in the past. I love the clear, concise, easy-to-use patient portal. I can check on my lab tests, get added medical information, change appointments, or send and receive messages quickly and easily. I use the portal to contact Kaiser's mail-order pharmacy, requesting refills when it's convenient to me. It allows me to research any prescription, or to pose a question for either a pharmacy tech or a friendly pharmacist. Everything is delivered right to my door, without shipping costs and I can pay my portion online, too. In addition, Kaiser's patient portal allows me access to medical care, 24 hours a day, just by using my phone. I can choose to talk to a nurse, or an on-call doctor, immediately. For less urgent matters, I can schedule a virtual visit appointment, or choose to see a doctor at one of the convenient locations. The portal is secure and gives me far more privacy than going into a doctor's office, and trying to give personal info to a receptionist (without the fear of informing everyone in the waiting room, as well.) I hope I never have to change my health insurance again, because Kaiser Permanente has been an answer to my prayers. They're the BEST, because the doctors, nurses, assistants, techs and office staff etc. are warm and eager to help. So I am very grateful for the first-rate, personalized care I've been given, since switching insurance providers nearly 3 years ago. Thank you, Kaiser Permanente!

But IDK what happened: sometime after the pandemic, say 2023, things changed drastically. I started getting shuttled around with different physicians. At one point I ended up with the flu. During my visit for treatment, they took blood and the sample came back contaminated (possible sepsis). I reflected on the procedure and realized the tech didn't sterilize the site before they drew. So I'm sent off to the hospital down the street, and after an overnight I get cleared and released. Visits to other specialists, when you could get them, just didn't feel like before, so you have to think that the medical crisis hit them pretty hard. But still. Overall, disappointing, but I'm with another plan now.

From the moment we walked into his office, I was greeted with warmth and kindness, making me feel at ease during a potentially stressful time. Dr. Jung was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also took the time to explain every step of the procedure in a way that was easy to understand. His ability to connect with patients on a personal level truly sets him apart. He listened attentively to my concerns and answered all my questions with patience and clarity. This had been the first surgery for my daughter and within his great sense of humor and ability to connect made this an experience one to mention. The surgery went smoothly, and I felt supported throughout the entire process. I highly recommend Dr. Jung and his team to anyone in need of ENT treatment/surgical care. His expertise and compassionate approach make him an outstanding surgeon! Thank you, Dr. Jung for your dedication and skill.

I unfortunately had a very disappointing experience with this facility…read more I initially sought care for persistent ear-related symptoms, including pressure, discomfort, and other ongoing issues. During my visits, I felt there was more focus on discussing hearing aids than on identifying and addressing the underlying cause of my symptoms. Additionally, I was informed that I would be referred to a balance specialist, but that referral never appeared to be completed. Fast forward approximately six months, and my symptoms have continued to worsen. The pressure in my ears has become increasingly painful and is significantly impacting my quality of life. My primary care physician recently encouraged me to schedule a follow-up appointment as soon as possible, as these ongoing medical issues could be contributing to other health concerns. When I contacted ENT Associates to explain the severity of my symptoms and request an appointment, my call was disconnected twice. While I understand technical issues can happen, the overall experience was frustrating. After finally reaching someone, I was informed that the earliest available appointment was nearly two months away despite the worsening nature of my condition. I recognize that specialist offices often have busy schedules, but I was disappointed by the lack of follow-through regarding the referral, the difficulty obtaining timely care, and what felt like limited attention to identifying the root cause of my symptoms. I hope this feedback helps improve communication, care coordination, and patient access moving forward.
