I wouldn't say I have thick or thin hair, but she managed to construct a gorgeous, thick braid that stood out even with my black hair. There aren't enough words in the dictionary to describe how awesome Audra is. I booked her months in advance for my wedding on January 18, 2018 without having ever met her or known someone else that has booked her. I went on yelp and searched for bridal hair in the San Marcos area and she popped up, went on her Instagram and liked what I saw so I contacted her and BAM! Booked! Normally, I'm VERY picky about my hair and given the fact that it was THE MOST important and special day of my life - I thought it would've been harder for me to find someone, but Audra's work spoke to me and her professionalism and quick responses to my emails were what really sealed the deal for me. Throughout the whole wedding planning process, Audra answered my questions and put my mind at ease. At my bridal trial, i felt like i was talking to a friend i hadn't seen in years. I was extremely worried about timing because I had 11 women that needed their hair done before 11:45 am the day of my wedding and I just knew the horror stories of hair and makeup running way too long and cutting into pictures. Audra was FABULOUS! I used her for my wedding in October 2016 and have nothing but positive tings to say. She did my hair and six bridesmaids in less then four hours. In addition, she was able to address a lot of needs - two bridesmaids with super thick hair, a bridesmaid with very short hair, and three bridesmaids with pretty straight and thing hair. The texture she gave me the bride was fabulous, and two of my bridesmaids who requested braids were blown away by the texture and looseness of it. I have been getting my hair done by Audra for a little over two years now and I love her!! It's so nice to be able to get your hair done and have it turn out better than you expected every single time. The last time I went to see her, I brought a picture of the look I was going for and when I came home and showed my husband the picture (it was a side profile so you couldn't see the face) he thought it was a picture of me! Another thing I love about Audra is that she doesn't pressure me to cut my long hair like almost every other hair professional I've been to and I really appreciate that. In addition to getting my hair done by Audra, I've also had the pleasure of working with her in the wedding industry. I'm a videographer and have seen a lot of different scenarios in the getting ready process and I can't express enough the importance of having a professional do your hair and makeup. My brother's wife invited me to get my hair done by Audra at their wedding, and it was just a lovely experience. I hadn't had my hair done up professionally in like 10 years, and the last time I hated it so much I went home and took it all down. This time was a totally different experience. First of all Audra was professional and very talented not only in her craft but in her "bedside manner". She was discreet, and made everyone feel at ease and relaxed. She was somehow able to make my fine thin hair do an updo, and it was gorgeous. It didn't hurt, and usually bobby pins give me a headache. I didn't have to worry about it at all, and let me tell you I danced! It never felt like it was coming loose, and looked just as good at the end of the wedding (as did everyone's including the bride). When I took my hair down I couldn't believe how many bobby pins there were as it hadn't hurt or felt uncomfortable at all. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Audra! I couldn't for the life of me decide how I wanted my hair for my wedding. She helped me find inspiration pictures, and pointed me in the right direction for excellent extensions! We had a trial hair appointment that she graciously did for me on a Sunday (when she usually doesn't work!). The day of the wedding she was early, happy and relaxed! She had an awesome schedule to make sure all the girls got through hair and makeup without a hitch. She's clearly done this before, because the schedule was perfect timing! She had her iPad full of inspiration pictures so my girls could go through and pick what they wanted. She was able to make them all cohesive and unique at the same time. They all loved their hair and everything stayed put nicely. The flower girls headbands never moved and they never complained about bobby pins being too tight My mom has short hair and wasn't sure how she wanted it done and Audra was able to come up with a style that she was very happy with! As for me, my extensions felt very secure, and my curls lasted until I showered the next morning, I don't know how long they would have lasted had I not gotten my hair wet!! She was able to give me the down curled look while still keeping my hair out of my face! And, she was the one that recommended getting brooch pins for my hair as opposed to actual hair clips. She pinned them in with bobby pins. I couldn't even feel them and they never came loose! She uses the best bobby pins! (and the yummiest smelling hairspray!) Not only was our hair fabulous, but she was such a help with everything else, from placing the veil, to hooking my longline bra, steaming the veil and dress. I don't know what we would have done with out her! She was also able to squeeze in my brothers girlfriend since we had some extra time! She did an awesome side ponytail in just minutes! Because we had so many girls, she hired out the make up portion to Maggie Hansen who did a fabulous job, though I am sure Audra would have done just as well! Audra was one of five hair stylists with which I scheduled a Bridal makeup trial...and I am so thankful I chose her!! My husband had only one specific request for my appearance on the day: HAIR DOWN. Audra totally nailed my old hollywood glam style for the wedding...and I am psycho about my hair so you can trust me when I say YAY!!! BEST EVER!!!! I have long blonde hair almost down to my rear, which never holds curl. But when Audra got a hold of it...GORGEOUS FLOWING CURLS OF BEAUTIFULNESS! She added in my hair extensions (which added a lot of heaviness) and custom hair clips in the exact right spot, and when I got fussy about a strand or two she fixed it..with grace! I got a little panicy towards the end of the day because I was about to walk down the aisle with ten million eyeballs staring at me...but she calmed me down and made me look flawless. She is highly professional and an expert in her field. I loved my hair, and so did my husband! PHEW! Audra also did my mother's hair, which is no easy task - my mom has really short hair and loves to spike it up like she's put her finger in a light socket, haha, because its simple and easy...so when Audra took over on the wedding day it was like Mom was a whole new woman! She curled it, gave it volume and youth...added in Mom's flower at the right spot...and BOOM! beautiful mommy dearest whom I love so much! Best. Mom. Hair. Ever! My sisters were my Matrons of Honor, and they are glamazons in their own right...but when Audra used their extensions and fascinators they looked EXTRA glam! I did a trial with her a few months before my wedding and I would definitely recommend doing that.
