This review is for my boy Ken!!!! Hes really the best tech I love him so much. Everything he does my nails he gets it soooo on point. I am allergic to gel unfortunately so I dont get to do many fun designs, but Ken is the one tech I've found that can do more than just one color using dip powder: hes done French tip and ombre using dip and always does a fantastic job. If he feels that the nails arent long enough or design feels funky depending on my length of nails, he will always let me know and give me options. I really appreciate that. My nails always last - usually well over a month even with dip. Most nail techs here are great but I did get one person who started putting gel on my toes once despite me reminding them I couldn't get gel. I always stick with Ken and its been smooth sailing ever since. I also had my nails grow soooo long with him and using just dip powder. Highly recommend The salon is refurbished so the place is even nicer than before ! My go to techs would be any of the guys especially Ken, Lucas, Tom and the other gentleman with glasses (I never got his service but he always knows what he's doing). read more

Great vibes, great service, and I love that it's an inclusive spot in Hillcrest. Definitely has a community vibe! I got a classic mani/pedi (with gentle removal of gel nail polish to preserve my natural nails) and was there for about an hour. My nails and cuticles still look great a week later and my classic pedi is still holding strong! Parking in this area can be a bit of a challenge but that's really the only downside. I want to say that this nail salon is not my regular salon. The one I go to was closed for the day and I didn't have time to go anywhere else. I went in for a classic pedicure and asked for her to file my nails and change the color, that's it! The technician was nice so I feel bad leaving this review, but the way she removed the gel from my toes was awful! She filed it down, put acetone and let it sit for a bit. Then she proceeded to peel off the old gel and tore the corner of my nail OFF. She then proceeded to say I had thin nails! I've been getting gel pedicures for a while now and NEVER has anyone tore a piece of my nail OFF! As a technician, even if my nail was thin she could of used a machine to remove the gel instead of tearing it off the way she did. I was so upset! She tried to tell me she would add a piece, which I declined so I just told her to cut what she could without leaving my nail too short. I will never return here. Maybe some folks like this method of removal but I did not and will not be returning for a pedicure. I will add the chairs were comfortable and I also got a gel manicure which he added so many layers too! It's sad as I've been coming here for years, but I won't be coming back. They tried to charge me $98 for builder gel fill and chrome powder (also looked nothing like the inspo pic) - something I've never been charged more than $65 here. Also note no frills on this manicure - it was strictly getting in and out of the chair. I could tell the owner was uncomfortable with the price listed by the tech so she immediately took $10 off but still way more than I had paid before. I asked why it was so expensive and they said it was because multiple of the nails had broken - but I got my nails done there two weeks ago so it seems the issue was they didn't do a good job to begin with. The owner took off another 5 after i pointed this out. Sadly, I won't go back after having gone for many years. Gave a second star because the manicure itself was OK but honestly it's not that well done/isnt very clean. The nails I get done here usually aren't very clean but I was OK with it because of the price. If you're going to start charging like a high end salon, your work should reflect it. read more

I really wanted to like this place more based on the other positive reviews. But they are SO ROUGH with my nails and gel manicure retention has been terrible. I've been here 3 times with 3 different nail techs and each experience has been the same. They filed my nails with the nail drill to literally the point of pain each time. Since removing my last set, my nails are now paper thin and have the "ring of fire" (iykyk). You know it's bad when other nail techs at a different salon are telling me they've damaged my nails. I really expect more expertise with a basic gel manicure. Looked sloppy, no cuticle prep, and they also only lasted about a week - which is just icing on the cake. Walked in for a last minute pedicure and was super happy with their services! The staff was very friendly and I didn't feel rushed at all despite coming in close to closing. Beware! They don't do hair anymore!!! I learned this the hard way. I used to come here years ago to get my hair done, but it had been a while since my last visit because I moved. I recently called to schedule a blowout appointment since I had an event that evening. The lady on the phone (who I believe is the owner or manager) told me they offered a Deluxe Wash Blow Dry. She never mentioned that it was actually a scalp facial. I booked the appointment and came in expecting a regular wash and blowout like they used to do. The stylist washed my hair and gave a scalp massage -- which she did a great job on -- but after about an hour, she said she was finished and started drying my hair. When I asked if she was going to style it, she told me they don't do hair anymore! I spoke with the manager/owner, who said they were under new management and no longer offer hair services. However, their website and Instagram still advertise hair services, which is completely misleading. She said what I got was a "scalp facial," which was never explained when I booked. I ended up paying $95 for a service I didn't ask for. No apology, no discount, nothing. I definitely won't be coming back. If you no longer do hair, please take it off your social media and website -- it's not fair to customers. read more

Decided I needed a little self care. Popped in to get a manicure. Requested a gel manicure and to see colors. 1st book was handed to me and second was tossed and fell to the floor. Upon choosing a color I was consistently pushed into getting dip?? With no knowledge of what that was ... I reluctantly said ok. The entire experience was incredibly uncomfortable. constantly being told to relax and getting my arm pulled In every direction. After they started dipping my nails in a colorless powder and curing it still leaving my nails clear.. They proceeded to put the "gel coat" color that I had requested on top of the dip? I later found out that the dip is supposed to be the requested color ? 3 coats later it still didn't look good. At this point I just gave up. Clear-coat was applied on my request. They then tossed my hands back at me and said you are done. No massage or even a thank you. The tech followed me to the cash register and insisted on a cash tip.. I informed them I didn't have any cash on me. with complete discussed, they said fine just tip here and pointed to the card reader. This is hands down the worst service I have ever experienced at a nail salon. this entire experience cost nearly $60 and I still tipped $10 on top of it. I will never be returning to this space and highly don't recommend it. read more

Eight year customer here! Some changes have occurred in the salon over the last year and a half, so if you haven't been there recently now is your time to go back. One of the co-owners has taken over the salon full-time, completely remodeled it top to bottom, and the service is top-tier. Vivian does my hard gel, she is the absolute best when it comes to shaping. I have been getting pedicures from Tran for more than five years and I literally can't live without him. There are so many great techs here, their color and product selection is unbeatable and there's always a warm environment when you arrive. Despite the Hillcrest location, parking is fairly simple. First time I came here. I was driving through Hillcrest and wanted to get my nails done last minute it was 4pm on a Friday. I saw this business and called them real quick, and they said they can take me right away! They told me they had a parking lot behind their business too which made it even better, since it was in Hillcrest off 5th Ave. I went in and sat down and was helped immediately. A young guy did my feet and a lady did my nails, I was so surprised by her speed and talent with fixing my broken acrylics and shaping them to my liking. Ken was the person doing my toes..and it had been awhile so thank you Ken. The massage could have been better but he was also pretty fast. If you want poor quality nails and to be disrespected, this is the salon for you. I came in asking for a gel polish manicure. I said "gel polish manicure" but I had gel x on previously so my nail tech assumed that's what I meant by gel which could've been cleared up if he didn't quickly cut my natural nails to nubs. He then asked what shape I wanted after cutting one hand and when I said "whatever shape we can do with this length I guess," he realized his mistake. I know we are human and things happen but it was so avoidable and with the events that transpired after this, I will not be returning. The nail tech next to us quickly chimed in and said "you need to say you want to keep your natural nails." For a regular gel polish manicure? Since when? I've had nail techs want me to keep length, not cut my nails without me asking into nubs. He offered to give me gel x on the one hand to even out the lengths; however, I purposefully asked for gel polish only to give my nails a break from the gel x. I told him no and to just work with the nails I have. I was left with one hand with nubs for nails in a square shape, and my other hand has a round shape. At least make them the same shape? Hello? I also asked for a simple flower design and brought a picture. Some of the flowers are fine, but he rushed through the design so fast to get to the next client that most of the design looks like blobs. They are inconsistent and really sloppy work. He asked if I liked it after doing one finger and the polish had already gone through the uv light. I said yes cause what the heck else am I supposed to say? Can't redo them now! I paid full price and tipped but every time I looked at my nails, I was so displeased. Also, they charge SO MUCH for designs. In total I paid $65 for this set. I decided to go in to the salon a couple days later to hopefully chat about the service and ask for a partial refund. I spoke to the receptionist who was fairly nice but the nail tech I had and the other nail tech next to us both started yelling across the salon at each other and myself. Everyone was so defensive and telling me I should've said this or I should've done that. Sure I could've said "hey, please don't cut my nails to the shortest possible length" but why would I? Why would anyone think they have to say that? I felt berated and completely disrespected. I came in saying I know it was an honest mistake but that just wasn't good enough for them. They did whatever they could to make me uncomfortable and tried to make me feel bad that his service was terrible. Make it make sense. The receptionist took my name and number for the owner/manager to call me when they got into the salon since she couldn't do much in this situation. She told me they would get there in a few hours. It has since been two days and I haven't been called. No attempt to reach me. I have been to this salon before and usually have an ok experience but the customer service and quality of work is incredibly disappointing. I would recommend going to another salon/nail tech. I cane for a fill and 2 pedis with just color and was charged $250. To top it off the older gentleman, very kind. Did not do my nails I requested at all. I asked for thin straight square and got fat square and not the color I picked and wanted and then he added shine on my nails ruining them. My daughter was waiting so I couldn't ask to re do them. Like to start with I've been here several times and have had good experiences. However, I went there on Wednesday for a mani/pedi. My pedi was good. My mani on the other hand (no pun) was not good. The guy that did it really appeared he didn't wanted to be there. I told him I wanted clear polish. He didn't use a base and painted one time. I asked him if he could put another layer on my nails. He said I already painted two time. He proceeded to a table and sat on his phone. The technician doing my pedi put a base coat and three polishes on my toenails, which has always been the process on all my nails. I asked him shouldn't the other tech have done what you did? He said yes and that he noticed that he hadn't. I asked him if he would put one more coat on my fingernails? He said of course and did. Thursday and Friday morning the polish was coming off in pieces. I went back Friday, and the same guy that did my nails approached me quickly asking if he could help me. I told him the polish was coming of, most likely because he didn't put a base on. He argued the entire time while redoing my nails that he did put on a base coat. I told him he didn't and the other tech also said he didn't. He put a base on and then one clear. I asked him if he would put on another layer. He said "NO! Why?" I got up and said he had awful customer service and I wouldn't be coming back again. He may need to find another field of work. read more

I came here in December of 22 and again in Jan 23. Music is a throwback 2000's with top 40s. My favorite and one of the top reasons I came back to this place is that there is minimal chatter between employees (I don't live close).
