I showed up as soon as doors opened and also made a last minute online appointment just incase. There was a bit of a language barrier but I figured well I'm showing her a video of what I want-- I've requested for nude chrome gel nails however, I'm not sure how I received nude gel nails with an up charge of pearlescent powder. When my nail technician completed my manicure, she announced, "same!" as if she declared out-loud my powdered pearlescent nails are now magically transformed into the requested nude chrome color. I wish they would've told me upfront that this cannot be done. I would not request for anything out of the basic mani pedi here. read more

Came here while on a trip almost a month ago and as I'm booking an appointment for my local place, I'm noticing my mani-pedi from Italy Nails is looking solid (except for growth obviously). Called about 20 minutes ahead of walking in and they said they could take my mom and I on a Saturday afternoon. My mom was getting a pedicure and I was getting gel x with design and a pedicure. They were pretty busy but they took us right away, which we appreciated! My gel x manicure was great! Jason did an awesome job with the design and the gel x manicure portion probably took about an hour, so pretty quick! The price was also very reasonable for gel x with design so will definitely come back for another manicure with design. The only small feedback is the women doing our toes cut both my mom and I's a little bit and my mom had a blister she asked them to avoid but they didn't, so would recommend to ask them to be a bit more gentle as it was a little too rough, but overall they are very friendly and I would come back again! read more

She was finished in under 25 minutes, sloppy application of polish, didn't file nails after clipping leaving ragged edges, cuticles not clipped or scaled. This is what I get for being desperate! My usual salon screwed up my scheduled appt so I decided to find somewhere on my way home. Bad idea. It took 1 hour and 20 minutes just for her to remove about 80% of my poly gel and then give me a very poorly done gel manicure. The whole experience felt like an SNL skit -- she kept grabbing random tools, doing something to one hand, then switching to the other, without any clear process. She charged me for the poly gel removal, but even then she didn't finish the job. The filing was uneven, the polish didn't cover my whole nails, and she repeatedly went back to refile or trim individual nails. When I told her the removal was burning, she said I was "sensitive" and had "thin nails." Instead of properly removing the poly gel, she hand-filed most of it off while barely dipping my other fingers in a tiny ramekin of acetone (about the size of a ketchup cup). When I asked about using foil, she said she would "do it this way and take her time." Overall, the service was frustrating, unprofessional, and not worth the charge. read more

First of all, I had fungus overtake a third of my big toe after I had been getting my pedicures there every month for over a year. My second toe was also somewhat affected by the fungus. This has never happened to me before. This would have taken months to spread this much. I never saw my toes unpainted because I never removed the polish myself until one day I happened to and was shocked. This salon didn't bother to notice or communicate every time I got a pedicure there that this was happening. (The picture I posted was taken a month after I first noticed the fungus and had cut my nail down so it was somewhat regrown and repainted by then.) I don't know what caused the fungus. Again this has never happened to me and I have very good hygiene practices but it's of course quite possible their practices may have caused this. Regardless, either no one bothered to notice this or tell me for months while this was developing. And it was immediately very apparent to me once I had removed my own polish. Furthermore I was always rushed to pick a color when I would go in. They would constantly ask me "are you ready? Are you ready?" They always insist I pick a color from a book while I am sitting for my pedicure. But then I can only see maybe a fifth of the colors they have. I only get my nails done once a month and I am particular so I want to make sure I am happy with what I choose. I am not late for an appointment because I always just walk in so I don't see why they feel the need to rush me. It's happened so much that the last time I went in there I specifically said that I needed time to pick my color and I did not want to be rushed. But still I got repeatedly asked if I was ready multiple times. I will definitely never return. read more

Not sure why anyone goes here? The place looks dirty once inside--first impressions. Steady stream of business so not sure why. That was red flag # 1. #2: The back ground or ambience sound on the tv was far from relaxing. Any Kind of Music is the norm. Instead it was someone walking/filming the streets of a downtown city--in Asia somewhere? Place unknown. Location doesn't matter--it was distracting and loud. Filming a pot boiling and someone stirring loudly kind of sucks. People all over the city talking and traffic sounds. Very Odd overall. Downtown San Diego is noisy enough. Not sure why you want to hear more loud sounds while relaxing. #3: back to cleanliness. The tools used on my feet did NOT come from a sterile sealed packet! I should have said something! I finished my toes and left. Then the tools used got knocked off the dirty cart onto the floor. They were picked back up and put back in the cart. Feel sorry for the next person. Gross! #4: being charge extra if pay by card. Which is insane because the service is by far way below standards. What do I mean...? Leg Massage--was literally 2 seconds on each side. I pay less in my hometown and get at least 8 mins on each leg. Warm towel wrap....the towel has stains. Hopefully washed! Upon removing towel,, my leg was damp still. However she proceeded to pull my pant leg down and now my pants are damp and wet too. They are clearly turning chairs/people faster than I have ever seen. Such a disservice. For a quick quack pedicure, I should have paid $25! Instead of $57! Never go here. read more
