Most start at 4 months old, just in time for me to return to work! I was thrilled to find Music Together and realize that they offer classes for babies as young as newborns. I brought my babe to a free demo class and signed up on the spot. The class is very structured and caregivers are actively involved. Stacey, the instructor, guides you through each song and activity. She has a beautiful voice and is really wonderful with each child in the class - making each feel special and appreciated. She acknowledges that all babies have pressing needs and welcomes everyone to feed and change the babies as needed. Early on, my baby would sleep through large swaths of the class. Stacey explained that despite being asleep, she was still taking in all of the music and knowledge. She's especially great at explaining developmentally how the class is helping each child grow and learn. The songs are fun and I find myself singing them at home without even realizing. My baby lights up when she hears the familiar tunes. This class has been great for providing structure to my maternity leave life, giving me a reason to leave the house, a community of other caregivers to spend time with, and most importantly - my little one loves it!

If she actually thought that I was a DV survivor, it would be a pretty disgusting thing to do after insinuating that DV isn't a problem she's concerned with.

It was such a super heart-warming experience when I went to pick him up the other day. On my way in, I was able to catch up with Ms. Jada, who was the first teacher he had. She has the patience of an angel and really helped guide us into appropriate behaviors for little ones of his age at the time in these social settings. Just helping us get back into "normal" post-covid children group interactions. We talked about how much he's grown and how he's talking so much now. She also came in to his new class to say hi and he stopped getting ready to leave to go give her a hug. In the hallway, we also ran into Ms. Sonia and Ms. Candace both of whom were also so important in coaxing him out of his shell and always making him feel safe enough to do so. They also were impressed by how big he's gotten and his personality has blossomed further as he's become more comfortable in who he is. These small interactions just solidified how much trust I have in them. They truly don't HAVE to stop to talk to us. It was the end of the day, they were certainly tired. But each one of them have taken the time to notice my son, even when he's not in their class anymore, and to say hi just to say hi. Of course, Mr. Jose and Ms. Juliette certainly have a way with him and the rest of the kids too. He always comes home and teaches us the new sign language he's learned. Mr. Jose has such an awesome, chill big brother vibe. On the administrative side, Ms. Mona is always a ray of sunshine. Ms. Emily and Ms. Jillian are always extremely helpful and responsive with emails.

I'm so impressed with the knowledge my son has shown from counting numbers to singing the abc's to know all the colors. Most recently, Ms Candace and Ms Eileen have been amazing with my son. He even asks for them when we're at home and I ask about school. He is always excited to go to school to spend time with them and his classmates. I'm grateful for the school and its close proximity as we live in stuytown. I hope the school will offer 3K next year as the tuition is high and any savings will help.
