She would never let us participate in class and she and she would also bully us another way! She would call us names like annoying and that was very mean of her! She was the worst teacher I have ever had.I can't express that enough. Also she would play favoritism on who she would let actually explain their work in class. She also pretended to lose my assignment and lie to my mom about it .she said that I put it on the counter where the water was.she would not even teach us anything. She would decide if we get to eat candy in class unless she gives it to us then it's OK to eat it. I hated her!!!!!!! I wouldn't recommend this school.

He had a great time, and learned a lot while working with his fellow students and the wonderful teachers and staff. He couldn't be more proud of the musical theater production they all created together, and that families got to attend at the end of the program (the production was fantastic!) Thank you Serious Fun, COMPASS NYC and DYCD for providing such a quality program which keeps the children engaged, and allows them to express their creativity through acting, singing, dancing, writing, set and technical design and so much more.

The kids have lots of time for play, both in the sunny classrooms with views of the river, and in their two outdoor playgrounds and indoor gym. Although the school is play-based, they also do a lot of learning through play! I've been amazed at how my son's writing ability has grown this year. The specials (library, art, music, and dance) are also a real highlight of the Weekday School. My son has been bringing home amazing art projects, and showing us the songs and dances that he learned at school. Most importantly, the teachers are so experienced and caring. They really get to know each child as an individual, and my son has bonded very strongly with his teachers. Ms. Daina, the director, is incredibly warm, dedicated, and accessible. She knows all the children, is involved on a day-to-day level, and provides a lot of guidance for the kindergarten application process. We have had a wonderful experience with the Weekday School. You have teachers constantly pushing you to do your best. There is no excuse for late homework or late assignments. Administrators will not take your if, ands, or buts. Sometimes you will have class in the basement then, the next period, gym on the 8th floor. The elevators will be packed, you will have to climb 9 flights of stairs. With the mind set of a high school student, you sometimes might feel unfairly retreated or wronged by deans or Brooklyn Tech staff. Trust me, as time goes on, you will realize, it's nothing personal. The school will seem like a human oven in the summer and winter. All of these elements may make you think that Brooklyn Tech isn't the school for you, or that you wouldn't want your child attending this institution. However, from the viewpoint of a Brooklyn Tech alumni, this school has sculpted me to the person I am today. You have educators who want to do more than make a semi decent salary. Teachers who want to help you succeed. I have gained more than just education within the sciences and engineering, I have gained pure knowledge. Knowledge that will carry with me where ever I go. Knowledge that is engraved in me, which makes me a better person, which gives me that advantage in the real world. As for the student body, it is an experience that you will never be able to encounter for the rest of your life. Attending Brooklyn Tech, you learn more about culture by your peers, than any course you can take in a higher education class. Not everyone who attends Brooklyn Tech has the same Ivy League ambition. You will meet some of the most brilliant pranksters, some of the most innovative individuals, and some of the most creative students. You will meet real people. You will find your own group of friends who will better define who you are as a person. I have met so many great and amazing people through my time at Brooklyn Tech. With that note, I have also met some who I would wish never to see again. There will always be something negative to say about any high school you attend. Your life is what you make it. The decisions you make will either make that path easier or harder. Brooklyn Tech is definitely one of those decisions in your life where you might think you've taken on a challenge that is more than you can chew. Trust me, this experience is worth it. She began just before her 2nd birthday with some verbal skills, and has completely blossomed while at the school. All the teachers and administrators are so friendly, welcoming and know each child by name (regardless of class they are in, everyone knows each other across the entire school) as well as most is the parents! The learning activities they put together are tied right into to key skills, and we have come home so impressed that at 4 our daughter already knows what "germination" is having learned about it in the Dragonflies class. Good food is provided for breakfast, lunch and 2 snacks, and you can drop off as early as 7:30am and pick up as late as 6:15 which is unheard of for most daycares. They know pretty much all the families are working and so try and make things as easy as possible to handle that working parent life. They also have a large backyard for outdoor play as well as rec room / gym with a rock climbing wall so the children get lots of exercise and fresh air. We could not have been happier with the education and care our daughter has received and we continue to sing Sunshine 3rd Ave's praises to everyone in the East Harlem community we meet. Mya gossips and talks badly about other children's progress or disabilities to other parents against HIPPA laws and confidentiality. She claims to have a kitchen but in reality only has a fridge/microwave/sink. Doesnt follow food menu and serves food you would not want your kids to eat. Milk is promised for lunch but confirmed by multiple staff members it is often SPOILED and snacks are EXPIRED. We caught Mya lying regarding many issues and the one we cant overlook is having an illegitimate UPK class. She lied to parents about having a DOE approved UPK class when DOE confirmed she did not have one. Now parents are stuck mid year with a class mixed with 3 and 4 year olds and a teacher who is not certified. Do NOT be tricked! She will promise things she wont deliver!!
