If you are not renting on the first floor expect to be blamed for every noise. I put sound dampening material under my blender and still received constant complaints. Don't bother thinking your cat is welcome. If it does not sleep through the night expect to be kicked out for violating the quiet hours. We suffered regular abuse from the Karen beneath us who had a zero noise tolerance both day and night and from the staff despite spending hundreds of dollars changing everything we could to stop the complaints. We were not the only temanta to receive letters of refusal to renew our lease. Half of my building moved out when we did. Stay away!!!

There have been no crime(s) here that I am aware of since moving in. The management is quick to respond to reported issues and are always friendly. My neighbors have been quiet and people generally keep to themselves. No crazy drama going on outside either. The buildings are well maintained. They plow snow, cut the grass...etc etc...If you have a problem in the apartment, let them know and they will send someone out the next business day. (they have people available for emergencies of course..) It isn't the most fancy place you can find, but I think they are decent enough. They have pay laundry rooms in each building, a bit of room for storage in the basement areas. (Figure about another 20 dollars per month for this..) Heat / hot water is included in the price of rent, this is a good value. You pay for electric. (60-100 a month in my experience...) Traffic in and around the area isn't too bad, but you should learn some back roads during the Christmas time! Mall traffic is crazy on 202. Well worth checking out!

It's located in a quiet and beautiful neighborhood, and it feels rather safe as well. Maintenance is usually quick and easy - all I need to do is to write an email about the issue and couple of days later I come home to find the issue resolved. It's got secured building entrance, but package delivery is right to my door. Staffs are really nice although I don't really find the need to talk to them much. There are more than enough parking spots for both the tenants and guests. The lovely little pool could be an addition, if I loved water (and I don't). Another perk is free heating, not sure if that's standard in the area but there's big savings during Pennsylvania winters. As for downsides, there really isn't anything major to complain about, considering the price. Shared laundry, spotty wireless signal (I'm AT&T), monopoly of Xfinity internet, plain design and decoration, and that's about it. The storage might be a bit tight but for a guy it has been quite enough. So overall, it's totally worth the price. And they allow cats!

The maintance staff is very compatant handling and type of work order submitted plus they always clean up when done the work. The office Staff consisting of Tiffany and Denise are excellent and very responsive to and concerns or questions. They submit work order within a hour and most orders are done the same day. I would highly recommend Valley Forge Suites to friends and family.

I lived in Building D, and the apartments were spacious and the price has been really good for the area. I mean, everything has gone up, and they haven't avoided that, but the increases have been reasonable, and less than some of my friends got bumped in other apartments. They've also done a bunch of upgrades while I was there (I was in an older unit) and the upgraded ones are even nicer. I've never had a real problem with any of my neighbors - everyone is friendly. I had a noise complaint a few times after one moved in in the summer, but management handled it really well, we've never had a problem since, and it caused no animosity. I'd still be there if we didn't have to move. Highly recommend Ridgewood if you're looking in the West Chester area.

Maintenance was responsive, and Laurie in the office helped make my move to a smaller apartment an easy process. I like how soundproof the walls are. I've lived in other local apartments where I could hear my neighbors talk at normal volume. I hardly ever heard my neighbors. He is a control freak, he unnecessarily harasses tenants, he is condescending, and he lies. For example, he won't keep the pool open during summer hours when people could actually swim, he only allows use of the recycling bin on Tuesdays, and he tells people that he is building a dog park but has yet to build one after 2 years, and he won't allow a community BBQ area, and when there is a crime on the property, he won't inform tenants so as not to unnecessarily panic them. With all the complains, I'm not sure why he hasn't been transferred to another location but for a 5 start rating, this property manager has to go.

One of the most frustrating aspects of living here has been the lack of transparency around fees, especially during lease renewals. Charges are not always clearly broken down in the resident portal, and trying to get clarification often leads to unhelpful or dismissive responses. The complex is well maintained and the apartments are unique and charming. Definitely different (in a good way) from others in the area. Most neighbors are pretty awesome but every place has that one or two tenets that are just inconsiderate and just plain terrible. Property management (Andrea) is pretty responsive given that she maintains several properties. The maintenance person is great! He even puts shoe covers on when he comes into your unit to fix something. He is also very responsive. The only times I have had to wait are when parts are on order. He doesn't just walk into your unit. He schedules a time if you want to be present. If you don't he goes in and cleans up after himself. I wished he was in our last place. Pros: Walking distance to downtown and a 7-minute walk to the SEPTA train. Plenty of Restaurants to eat at. Honest property Management and Maintenance person. Now the CONS: No in-unit Washer\Dryer, No Dishwashers, No central air.

The hot water is inconsistent, it's cold nearly every day during the day, I believe it's a shared hot water system and someone is always using up the water before anyone in my home can use it, I have to shower in the middle of the night if I want a consistent hot shower that doesn't run cold after 5 minutes of use. The management is rather nosy and overbearing, they're quite obnoxious and like to spy on their residents every move. Over all I give this place 1 star for convenience and location. The rest leaves a lot to be desired.
