UPDATED: still loving NOCDC after two years!! Simply the best!…read more My children were previously at a different pediatric dentist office and did not like going to dental visits. I decided to seek out an office closer to my home and that, hopefully, my children would enjoy visiting. This was our second visit (our first a week or so ago was for cleanings) to this office, and like the first, we were so impressed with everything. The office staff was kind and attentive. The hygienist (from our cleaning appointment) was so great with the kids and completely put my 4 year old at ease! The dentist, Dr. Kelly was equally amazing. At my son's second visit he needed a cavity filled and a tooth wiggled out. Again, our expectations were exceeded. During the visit (and our prior one as well) I was actually allowed to be in the room with my child as he had his dental work. This was a new experience for me and one I really appreciated. Dr. Kelly was simply perfect with my child and explained to both of us during the whole procedure what was going on and what to expect. My child was completely comfortable during the whole appointment. My other children are asking when they can go back to the dentist! This is a big change, they hated their previous dentist!! Thank you so much for creating such a kind & caring atmosphere for children! We are so lucky and glad we found you all!!

I've brought my daughters to Children's Dental Center for the past couple of years, and while the…read moredentists have always been kind, patient, and wonderful with my children, the front office experience has been inconsistent. One thing I've noticed over the years is that the staff turnover seems extremely high. Unfortunately, today's visit for my baby's first dental appointment left me very disappointed. I called ahead to let the office know I would be about two minutes past the grace period. I completely understand and respect the office's late policy--that was never my issue. My concern was the way I was treated by the dental assistant, Amanda. Rather than simply explaining the policy or offering to reschedule to the next available opening, she spoke to me in a very condescending tone, as though I were a child. There is a respectful way to communicate with patients, and this interaction fell far short of that standard. Customer service matters just as much as clinical care, especially in a pediatric office where parents are already juggling a lot. I hope the owners take a closer look at how front-end staff interact with families. Based on my experiences over the years, it's also been noticeable that some parents seem to be treated differently than others, which is disappointing. The dentists themselves have always been excellent, but experiences like today's make it difficult to recommend the practice without reservation. Update: 8/4/26 Taylor Marie called me after seeing this review to cancel my other appointments so they've taken no responsibility nor investigated anything l've said. Taylor and other employees then went and left fake reviews to bump mine down. BE WEARY OF BRINGING YOUR CHILDREN HERE THEY ARE NOT HONEST AND DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR CHILDREN !!!

Very poor....only gave 1 star for the cool figurines in the exam rooms that are collectibles and…read morethe kid friendly staff. I brought my oldest son here to this husband/wife dentistry practice and Dr. Wanda Augillard was very rude and highly unprofessional. My son was there for a cleaning and the "doctor" did not even address me or him as she walked in. The whole time while doing the cleaning, she only talked to the hygienist about non related things. Upon getting ready to leave I asked if she was going to ask me if he was having any issues (which he was). I proceeded to tell her one of his teeth was loose and causing him alot of discomfort. She asked if I would like it extracted and i said yes. Before I knew it she was giving him a shot in his gums WITHOUT forewarning him nor me of this. I tried not to display my emotions as she was performing the proceedure, but I have reported her and will fill out any of these reviews as I can. Parents need to know these things so that it will not happen to another child. Other observations are: although I believe this is a general dentistry, they had a fair amount of children being seen, there is street parking and about 5 parking spaces directly in front of the office, waiting room is an adequate size and needed to be cleaned, and the office staff was pleasant....even Dr. Terrance Aguillard. Wait time was about 20 mins after our appointment time and we were greated as soon as we walked in. As we were leaving I heard 2 women outside giggling about how Dr. Wanda and Dr. Terrance were arguing about non dental things, to which one replied, they should keep that drama at home. She was absolutely right, if you can't work with family and keep it professional maybe they shouldn't be in business together. Unfortunately my child had to suffer because of a martial disagreement. Highly unprofessional and i am still upset. I feel like if she was having a bad day she should've stood home because her attitude has now affected the business. We choose to have him not return and changed to a pediatric dentist, which we love!!!!

This is an updated review on a recent visit. After much consideration, we decided to go back to Dr…read more Susan, because Uptown Pediatric Dentistry had been my children's dentist for 14 years and also I'd met Dr. Susan at 2 events and felt like personally she was great. I am obsessed with dental care and teeth and my daughter needed an emergency visit. Two of her top teeth have small milk spots on them because I nursed her for a little longer than what people normally nurse for. Also upon brushing her teeth, I discovered that she had a small cavity near in the top corner of a front tooth that is crooked from when she fell walking as a toddler. I was freaking out, seriously, dreaming...obsessing. Researching online told me she got it from nighttime nursing. I felt horrible!! I thought I was doing the best for her by giving breast milk, when in fact, it had hurt her by giving her a cavity. It was ridiculous. I was obsessed. Before returning to Dr. Susan, we went to a local pediatric dentist who advised me to not fill the cavity, because her tooth is going to just fall out anyway. I was very confused because she would be in pain eventually and it would leave that tooth susceptible to an even bigger cavity and food would continue to get stuck in there. It was confusing to me and made no sense. Uptown Pediatric Dentistry took us back, on a day when they normally don't see patients. Dr. Susan examined my daughter and said that she was not surprised she got a cavity there. Her tooth is crooked from when she fell as a baby and that I would've had to brush and floss her teeth after every thing she ate for food to not get there. She made me feel better and assured me that nursing did not play a big role in the cavity. She gave me options and suggestions and fit us in to have the cavity filled the same day. We left to go get some food (because my daughter was not going to be able to eat later). The hygienist and Dr. Susan made my daughter feel at ease and even pretended to take care of her baby doll (my daughter carry's her baby doll EVERYWHERE). The overall procedure was quick and through. My daughter did really good during the procedure but started to cry at the end cause of how she had to tilt her head up and her mouth was propped open for a long time. Dr. Susan continued to reassure us during the procedure and wanted to make sure she got all the "sugar bugs" out because it had started to affect the tooth next to it (my daughters teeth are really close together and it's a challenge to floss). I'm just thankful that everything went ok and it's over. It's been a month since the procedure and my daughter hasn't had any issues. We lucked up and are so grateful for Uptown Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Holmes would be proud. Thank you Uptown Pediatric Dentistry, you've earned us back.

The office is located a couple blocks down from Touro Infirmary, inside one of the surrounding medical buildings, that sorta looks unpleasing to the eye. The lobby is drab, no security, no personnel, just a glass that with Doctors names and their room numbers. When you get onto the 3rd Floor, its sorta lifeless, but once you enter Dr. Holmes office, you definitely remember where you are. Video games, flat screen television, cartoons, puzzles, books...definitely gives off the illusion that they are their to play, and not what awaits them in the back room. Although, the backroom is even better than the waiting room, if you ask me. However, my kid was not amused by the idea of having to lay flat on the dentist table, even with the flat screen television right above. It was as if that tv didn't even exist. Perhaps an uneasy feeling for a toddler, better for the well adjusted adolescent. I grew up with the dentist chair, and it's still my preference. His staff is friendly, and he doesn't waste too much time - in and out. At this stage we don't really have too many things going on in my kids mouths, so naturally our visits are 15 mins a child.
