There's always a small line in front of the Auntie Annie's in Northbrook Court. My little one is a bit obsessed with their pretzels, so we honestly drive out to this mall (since Northbrook Court it is always easy to find parking) just for Auntie Annie's. As far as service - it really depends on who you get, as I came on a day when Auntie Annie's sent out a coupon for free nuggets as a bonus treat - then the lady groaned that she didn't have any and was upset that she'd have to make them. However the last few times that I've been here, it has been a different couple of ladies working the front counter and they were super fast and organized. I would not recommend ordering through the app for this location (I tried previously and they didn't have it ready), it seems faster just to wait in line when you're there. Even with the groaner, the challenges with app ordering, the actual pretzels are always made very well. Always appear to be cooked just the right amount of time at this location. read more

I'll tell you right now. I've been to this location more than a dozen times and Joe is one of the best. He goes above and beyond and just provides phenomenal customer service. He smiles and always always treats you nicely and with respect. When Joe is working you actually have options to order what you want off the menu! The previous times I've been here when an older Caucasian lady used to work the register - never once did she have anything prepared. She'd always say that they were no longer making mini dogs for the rest of the day at like noon or say that they only had plain and pepperoni pretzel available for the rest of the day and those were my only choices. I simply just could not understand how they could run a business this way. Her customer service was so poor that Whenever I saw her working I just would not swing by the business to avoid her at all costs. Along came Joe and everything changed. There's always fresh baked pretzels and mini dogs and he'll let you know how long something will take to get ready if it's not available on the counter. Everything is always hot and toasty. I truly appreciate his customer service so much so that whenever I'm at the mall and he's working I always grab myself a pretzel or some other snacks. This place is amazing. The whole pretzels are soft and warm, even after being transported. The mini bites are so good too, and they have a lot of different flavors. I love the cinnamon sugar ones because it is sweet and salty at the same time. It's convenient and the workers are nice to you. The last time I went, they had to catch up on the orders because they had ran out of pretzels. I had to wait 15 minutes for them to be ready. They ran out of PRETZELS. The one thing they sell. I beg you not to come here. I literally beg. I came here after doing a mall walk with my mom and tried to order a salted pretzel and cinnamon pretzel. Meg let me know they did not have any salted pretzels yet, only not-salted, and I told her I could see one in the window and she looked and said she did not realize they had been baked and added. We both laughed and I said not to worry about it since it had only been about 10 minutes since they opened. I was walking away when I realized I was given an un-salted pretzel and I went back and asked if she could swap it for the correct pretzel. Meg then slammed the pretzel into the trash and rolled her eyes. I asked her what was wrong and she said "nothing" with attitude. A girl on the side, I later found out her name is Elaine, kept muttering insults like "stupid b*tch", "this is so damn stupid", "it's too damn early for this b*llsh*t", etc. I thought Elaine was talking about something else and that I was just misreading Meg's attitude so I just smiled and said, "sorry I just love my salt" and tried to order another pretzel as well. Elaine then shouted, "now she want another one too?!". Meg laughed and then spoke slowly and condescendingly, "do you actually know what you want this time or are you going to change your mind again. I was so confused and flustered and said, "I said salted and you said there wasn't any and I told you there was and we laughed about it remember?". She just shrugged and looked away and Elaine started yelling profanities and slurs at me telling me to shut up and walk away. It was SO shocking. I began to cry and told them I had worked at a mall food court before so I know they're probably stressed but to please not talk to customer this way. The workers began accusing me of doing things I did not do and started calling their manager telling them I did things, I did not. A male worker tried to comfort me and told me Elaine was in a bad mood and it wasn't my fault but Elaine started yelling at him and told him he's not management and she is, so to shut up and go back to work. I asked if there was something I did to upset them and said sorry if there was a miscommunication and Elaine began acting as if she were going to physically assault me. Meg then started accusing me of "scaring her" and said she doesn't know why I was yelling. I was so confused because I had NEVER raised my voice. Another customer that had been served 2 people above me and had witnessed the whole thing came over and asked if everything was okay. Elaine began yelling at her as well and then said she was going to report it to the police and ran off. Meg kept smirking and saying I should "go now" if I don't want to cause trouble. I was so confused because she seemed like a sweet girl at first. Mall security ended up having to get involved and he at first told me that I might need to get escorted out of the mall due to Elaine's accusations. Luckily there were witnesses that all confirmed that I was nothing but nice and only cried and NEVER raised my voice. They also confirmed Elaine was aggressive, verbally abusive, and encouraged the other employees to attack me though I had done nothing to provoke them. The mall security later told me he believed me and that he had heard complaints about Elaine before so it was not really surprising. I reached out to Auntie Anne's about what happened and they said they would look into it and follow up but they never responded though I followed up multiple times. I am so disappointed Elaine would attack another woman of color with racial slurs and such aggressive nature. I hope she has changed, though it is not likely. read more

Auntie Anne's pretzels are divinely good, but after having a few in our group with a sick stomach after eating the hot dog pretzels, I wonder if it is best just to stick with the carb only products and skip the meat/cheese offerings. I'm not 100% convinced that these are kept at optimal temps to guard against spoilage. That being said, we have always had a five star experience with the plain or cinnamon sugar pretzels. Service is a little brusque, and not always in English, but that really doesn't bother me like it does some folks. Its fast food at the mall, you know? Give them a break for dealing with, like 10 million unsupervised tweens in the last 45 minutes! Bonus is that it shares a space with Red Mango now, which has always been a great food experience for us. read more

If not for black spot (mold possibly?) on my son's hot dog pretzel, AA would probably get four stars. Everything else here is good (either sweet or savory pretzels) but we were totally grossed out by the what happened. They did refund our money, but not exactly the best experience. read more

I had a scheduled pick up through doordash. They started making one of the items after I arrived. I already had my dinner in the car getting cold. They said it would only take 8 minutes (otherwise I would've canceled) 10 minutes later I ask Erika when it's going to be ready only to be told I don't know.... normally I don't include names but it's your job to know or find out. You failed your job on this one and we're moving super slow making a slow process take even longer. If I ever come back here ill edit this review to add the one helpful staff member.
