Even though it's a small operation, this pretzel shop truly brings joy to our community. They also offer delicious breakfast sandwiches, pretzel dogs, and various tea and coffee options. I was lucky to get all three of my pretzels from the oven. I especially like how the cinnamon sugar pretzel is topped with icing instead of dust--it's much easier to eat and still gives you that sweet, satisfying treat. The staff are quick and friendly. If they're baking a flavor, they'll let you know how long you'll need to wait for that fresh batch. There's plenty of seating, both inside and outside on picnic tables, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy.

Lots of patrons were picking up take-away and the in-person ordering line moved quickly. Definitely kid friendly with plenty in-door and out-door seating. We placed our order and waited to be called over the PA system. I'm not sure why they call you based on the items you ordered rather then the receipt number, but such is life. The breakfast pretzel was served room temperature, eggs were not to my liking, but good flavor from the bacon and cheese. The pretzel itself self was dry and kinda flavorless. The salted pretzel had a soft interior and crusty exterior with nice salt flakes but didn't live up to my expectations. The pub cheese was a welcome purchase to polish off the pretzel. The sweet pretzel was the best from our order. Pretzel was still dry but the cinnamon sweet topping made the top enjoyable.

Located inside an industrial building in Silver Spring's Lyttonsville, DC Pretzel Company sells made-to-order pretzels for those who order ahead. The night before, we ordered two salted pretzels for a Saturday 10:10am pickup time. We arrive a few minutes early and waited just two minutes since our pretzels were just out of the oven. When the worker came out, he said he snuck in a garlic pretzel as a gift. (The family before us also got something for free as a fun surprise.) All three pretzels were so good! Of course they were very warm, tasty, and with perfect texture. The best pretzel in the area is here!

When you arrive, you just call or text never having to leave your car. They are delivered to your car and served hot. I couldn't help myself I just ate them out of the box while driving. No time for mustard because I couldn't wait. I love the chewy texture inside and the bottom has a light crisp. I love all the flavors especially the jalapeno. It has a slight kick. Honestly all the flavors are great so I always order at least one of each. The owner is super nice and threw in an extra original pretzel. What an awesome gesture. I've gone to pickup every Saturday and Sunday since my last visit and will go every weekend until I get sick of soft pretzels but that will never happen! Soft pretzels definitely have a special place in my belly, I meant heart!

Lydianne's Soft Pretzels is always a good experience. Whenever I visit the Dutch County Farmers…read moreMarket, I get some kind of pretzel (virtually every time) and a lemonade iced tea. My favorites are the Steak and Cheese pretzel log, Hot Dog pretzel log, and the cinnamon sugar pretzel bites. Their pretzel logs are incredibly delicious. So are their plain unsalted pretzels. Their customer service is generally OK; as is the customer service experience at many of the vendors at this market. However, the customer service has improved over the years as the owners have recruited students from local schools to run the registers and order fulfillment operations. This has been a beneficial business tactic as the added, friendlier employees improved the customer service experience. The fact that these workers are local, they are able to better connect with the customers which over the years there has been a conspicuous disconnect between the two. At Lydianne's, all of the pretzels are made on site and within eyesight of the cash register, so when they are busy you should expect longer wait times as they replenish their freshly baked goods. It is a pleasant experience to observe their pretzel-making process from start to finish. One thing to note is there are two service lines at Lydianne's; it is understandable for some to think there is only one line which is the one you see immediately to the right upon entering the market. However, there is a second line around the corner on the opposite side of the pretzel stand. Overall, a consistently great experience at Lydianne's and the prices are reasonable.

They have an excellent line up of beers that they rotate throughout the year, but frequently have the same ones from year to year, so you get both variety and consistency. They also sport a variety of branded beer glasses so beers are usually served in the appropriate glass. My favorite beers are their European-inspired ones, especially anything German-style. I've visited a few times over the years and I was glad to see they expanded their food menu somewhat recently to include sandwiches, bowls, and wings. They have a large indoor area plus a large outdoor patio. Service is basic; you order via your phone and they drop off the items. On my recent visit, I got the Steak Sandwich with chips: flank steak with garlic aioli, sundried tomatoes, red onion, and English cheddar cheese served on a toasted baguette. It was delicious and indulgent. My Keller Door beer (Franconian-Style Kellerbier) was also delicious.

Silver Branch's selection of foods and beers was just the type of place I was looking for, and as icing on the cake, that evening, a local pet adoption center was going to have some dogs outside you could meet and that hopefully some locals would adopt into a forever-home. Ordering food and drink from any of the many tables inside is super convenient. Each table has its own QR code that you can scan, to bring up their menu on your phone. Once an order is placed, the food and drink come out very quickly, and a running tab will be kept until you choose to close it. I enjoyed my stout (a can pour) with flavors of coconut and almond, and it paired nicely with my Southwest Salad. It wasn't obvious to me, as a first time customer, that you have to get your silverware and napkins from a station a elsewhere in the large room, but luckily, I had overheard someone else commenting on that before my food arrived. The only possible problem might be parking on busy nights. For example, on this night, a concert was going to start nearby; the dinner crowd was larger than usual, and more parking spots in the area were taken. Other than that, food and drink are very enjoyable here, and I'd certainly come back if I'm in the area again.

I'm a classic salted pretzel kind of guy - they're huge, soft, always hot, and extremely tasty. Each regular pretzel runs about $2.50 and the logs and dogs start at around $4-$5. I've also had their pretzel dogs and steak n' cheese stuffed pretzel rolls - both are really really good. Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything you order here. They only accept cash so remember to take a few bucks with you on your trip to the Dutch Market; they're located near the exit so be sure to stop by on your way out.

These are perhaps the best pretzels you will ever eat. They are fresh, hot, gooey, and huge, and yes I'm talking about the pretzels. They also have perhaps the best Banana Milkshake I've ever had (and I've been told the rest of their shakes are equally stellar). They're dirt cheap and worth the drive to Maryland just for those two items alone. What to get: Hot Pretzel, Banana Shake What not to get: Hot Prilosec, Banal Sheikh Lydianne's is the highlight of the Amish Market in the MD countryside, about half an hour East of Washington, D.C. which is the capital city of some small country, I forget which one. The Amish know how to make this sort of food. In Philly, the culinary highlight of the whole region may be Miller's Twist... fresh lemonade, hot pretzels, and amazing shakes. In Ohio, the best shake and roast beef in the state is at Hartville Kitchen - an Amish paradise as Weird Al would say. But the pretzels and shakes at Lydianne's not only rival those, they may beat them. Certainly nothing in the DC area comes anywhere close, and even though they have limited hours (I think it's just Friday, Saturday, Sunday, mornings), you must make the journey out here, and once you're in the market, make a bee-line for Lydianne's, get a pretzel, get a shake, your life will be changed forever. Don't say I didn't warn you. This is coming from someone that never even liked pretzels before I met the Amish, and who loves shakes so much that I have probably tried 1,000 of them across America. Now if I just put you to sleep, lift your Lyds and get over to Maryland and try this immediately. Thanks very much to Mo (who is from Buffalo, not from MO) for insisting I go here. Which I am about to do again. Be back in a Mo.
