Aurora Gallery has framed several pieces for me over the years. They have a large (in some ways overwhelmingly large) selection of frames in a variety of good-quality materials. They also have a nice selection of matte choices, should your work require it, and different types of glass, from common window glass to anti-UV, anti-reflective glass for maximum preservation and visibility. The staff are consistently friendly, helpful, and professional. They even throw in free picture hooks so you needn't rummage around or make a trip to the hardware store when you get your artwork home, which is a nice touch. Prices are not cheap, but then even cheap, junky frames are expensive and difficult to find nowadays, and the workmanship by Aurora is very good, and justifies the cost. They have also proven adept at framing some oddball pieces for me that are not normally considered "art," so don't be afraid to challenge them! read more

What a great gallery! They have wonderful art on the walls and some unique and beautiful jewelry as well. The currently featured watercolor artist is pretty amazing. I recently brought an original pen and ink piece to Susan for repair. There were multiple areas of noticeable creases, and I was desperate to have it somehow fixed. I was so relieved that she felt optimistic, and it was looking almost good as new by the next day! And for a very reasonable price! I took a print here to be framed a couple of months ago, and had a good experience. The woman working there helped me pick out matting that was color matched to the print, and struck me as no-nonsense, but helpful. Custom framing cost me over twice as much as the silkscreen print originally did, but that seems pretty standard for custom frame work. This is a great place to pick up art for your home. Elizabeth shows many local artists works. There is a great variety you can choose from. I have been showing there for a couple of years now. I worked with Meredith to frame a print on canvas. She gave me some options and together we settled on a floating frame with a thin stretcher frame. It turned out awesome. As a professional artist I have specific requirements for my framing. Elizabeth at Aurora Gallery is the only framer I use anymore because I get exactly what I need and my order is always ready on time. Aurora Gallery knows how to frame a pastel painting, pastel is my primary medium. I willingly drive nearly 20 miles each way to Aurora, that's how dedicated I am to my framer. Owner was very rude. Staff quoted a price on framing and apparently we had a misunderstanding. Rather than discussing the issue with me directly the owner was very rude and claimed I was "working her" on the price. So crazy. She is very negative would not recommend. There are other options with welcome smiles and great service. read more
