I loved the experience here After some debating of where to have dinner, I was glad we decided to come here. I and 4 other girls came for a late dinner and there was no wait. We went with the following its description: Prosciutto, Melon and Mozzarella starter- Everything tasted delicious. The melon was very sweet and the mozzarella was super soft here. It was an excellent starter. Tuna Tartare- It was beautifully presented with strawberries. It was very pretty but a dish not worth mentioning. This dish can be skipped. Flori Di Zucca Ripleni- This is zucchini stuffed with ricotta cheese thats been lightly fried. It was so good we had to make another order. I like that it wasn't heavily fried and it was presented beautifully. Probably the best thing I had in Sorrento. Lobster spaghetti- We got a whole lobster cut in half still with shell in our light red sauce spaghetti. This is a must if you love lobster and pasta. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the lobster was amazing. The sauce was also very good. The portion was very large as well. Stuffed Eggplant- This was stuffed with meat and drenched with sauce. It was very flavorful. Dessert of the Day- On the day we came it was a chocolate cake topped with some whip cream and berries, and a tart sauce. It was very delightful. We also ended the night with some limoncellos. I think they gave us each a double shot of it because it was more than enough. The pricing here is very good and reasonable. The quality of food is all fresh and made perfectly with beautifully plated. The service was more than perfect. The elder gentleman waiting on us was very respectful and made sure us ladies were well taken care of. He was also very funny. We got a little loud since there was alcohol involved but the staff was very nice and even joked with us. The inside is small but most of seating is outside. It's in the central part of town and you can people watch as you eat. Seating was comfortable and overall it was a wonderful experience and I would love to come back.

#4 of 50 types of pizza. Prosciutto, mushrooms, ricotto and Parmigianno regianno cheese

I was originally going to give this place 4 stars because we were given a small table. Then our waiter Giuseppe found out my name was Joe and he gave us chilled limoncella. Eccezionale (outstanding)! We started off w/ the pizza in the pic. It was delicious. The crust had ricotta inside (and I thought Pizza Hut started that $hit!-LMFAO). For our entrees we had seafood papardelle (don't pronounce the "e" as I was told) and grilled shrimp. Sorprendente (amazing!). The shrimp were sweet and w/ the heads on. Being Asian and having grown up in Hawaii, like my sig says, I will eat anything even if its moving. The heads were delizioso! The papardelle had some langosta w/ claws that were great too. I love seafood! The place was cool even though a couple of atypical "stupid" (ignorant) Americans were sitting behind us. First of all, they asked for ghiacco (ice) w/ their wine and then they wanted thousand island for their salads. WTF! Did they think they were at Dennys!-LOL. They didn't even learn a few Italian phrases. I know a little Italian (I am fluent in Spanish and Hawaiian, but I barely speak English-LMAO), but least I tried. These two are probably the butt of jokes for Italian comedians!

Glad we chose this for our lunch in Sorrento during a day trip. It faces the piazza so it's great for people-watching, and the food is delicious and fairly reasonable price wise. I had the rabbit and also tried the pumpkin soup, ceviche with rocket salad, BLT panino and veal with grilled veggies. My rabbit was prepared in lemon sauce, which I love, and was very juicy. It was served with a tasty purple grain (can't recall the name right now) and mixed salad. I also liked the ceviche a lot, and the pumpkin soup was creamy and, well, pumpkin-y. The BLT was good but pretty basic - more or less like you'd get in the US. I didn't think the veal was good - it seemed dry. All in all a great meal, though!

Great food in Sorrento!!! We had the Lobster pasta and some pizza. The lobster was very fresh and was a nice treat for a rainy day. The pizza we ordered was a fantastic surprise because there was cheese oozing out of the crust! We went during off-season, and a lot of restaurants were closed. I'm glad this one was open! Seemed to be on the pricier side, but still wasn't bad.

Caprese salad and pizza with prosciutto, roasted peppers and roasted tomatoes

We came here on a Saturday night the first night we came into Sorrento. The restaurant has been open for 50 years and there is a good reason! There are so many varieties of pizza to choose from. My fiance and I split a bottle of wine the server recommended that was local to the area as well as a pizza that had proscutto, roasted peppers and tomatoes. It was delicious! We also had a caprese salad that was so fresh. Overall great experience

We had a short time to shop and grab lunch when our tour stopped in town before heading to Pompeii. We ordered some pizzas for the kids which came out quickly and were very good. The prosciutto and melon was incredible. The melon was so sweet and fresh is was like dessert. I also had pasta carbonara which was quite good and used mushrooms instead of peas. The staff made an excellent effort to get us served and on our way to meet our bus on time. Our only regret was not having time to sit out and enjoy more of a leisurely pace on patio.

We wanted seafood because when in Sorrento...why not opt for super fresh seafood right by the coast?! Our server recommended a really delicious local red that was super reasonably priced and we enjoyed with said red: For Primi -- *Gnocchi alla sorrentina (Sorrento-style Gnocchi): I mean...we kinda had to get a regional specialty right? Gnocchi here is potato based instead. It was SO delicious - still perfect texture. They also served this HOT HOT HOT with melty cheese. So delicious and a really generous portion!! *Spaghettoni alle vongole (Pasta with Clams): Another favorite for us in general so figured a really fresh version could be stellar and it didn't disappoint! This slightly edged out the gnocchi for me flavor-wise, but the gnocchi was dang good so it just goes to show how DELISH this was!!! For Secondi -- *Grigliata mista di pesce (mixed grilled fish - this was an incredible plate of such fresh seafood. There was various fish, a giant prawn, octopus alll grilled & seasoned to perfection! *Swordfish special! -- apparently it was swordfish season and it was a 'fresh catch' and I feel like you could tell! Really lovely and nicely seasoned. Portions were very generous & we were way too full for dessert at this point! So you could probably eat more "American" style here (Just 1 entree instead of our approach), but the menu here is pretty stellar!!!

I had been bit by a crab a number of times at Amalfi earlier in the day. I decided to return the favor and had the excellent crab with squid ink pasta. Added a second course of a local fish with cherry tomatoes, also delicious. Family enjoyed their dinner as well.

We stumbled in after some late nights out, and it was a total lifesaver, open until 3-4am when basically nothing else happened in town is. Honestly, it turned out to be some of the best pizza I've had in my life. Maybe it was the drinks talking, but I don't think so. We went back two nights in a row just to be sure. First night I had the Diavolo pizza spicy, crispy, perfectly balanced. Second night I tried the Cacio e Pepe pizza, which was rich and cheesy in the best way possible. Both were phenomenal. The vibe is awesome too. Inside feels almost like a big beer hall with tons of energy, while outside has more of a casual café feel. Even at 2-3 in the morning, the staff was super attentive and chill. We even had a bottle of wine with our pizzas one night, which made for the perfect nightcap. If you're in Sorrento and find yourself out late, or even if you're just craving amazing pizza, DeFranco is an absolute must. One of the greatest finds I've come across anywhere.
