Very underrated restaurant. Food and service was amazing. We had the pollo, pasta carbonara and the cod fish after the bruschetta. Food was obviously all homemade with local fresh ingredients. Servers were Friendly and knowledgeable. Loved everything

The Gnocco is the same as gnocchi with a different name. Very good but really rich in a creamy sauce

Had our mind set on a different place but it's closed on Tuesday, so we tried Il Pozzo. We were seated back by the bar where it was rather quiet, just a couple of tables and patrons were in quiet conversation seemingly enjoying their meals. I was craving pizza so I ordered what the waitress recommended. I don't recall the name, but it had ham, sausage and mushrooms. The crust was magnificent! Soft with a light chew. The pizza had a bit of moisture on top, but it was fine. A great place for a quick and perfectly cooked pizza!

The lasagna was DELICIOUS. Gobbled the whole thing up so fast. It was so so so good and creamy. So delicious. Restaurant inside is really nice too which is always a bonus. Service was good! Food was served quickly. Would recommend

Lovely spot. Friendly service and great food. As Americans not used to a daily diet of pasta it was nice to have a good salad. We had this restaurant's version of a nicoise and it was delightful. My dad had the eggplant parm, which was fantastic. The local wine was also great.

    Excellent price point

It's always a good sign when you're restaurant is filled with Italian locals. Probably my favorite restaurant in Sorrento. I've been coming here since my first visit in 2007 and make it a regular place to dine when I'm in town now. Everything is scratch made and authentic. The pizza is quintessential thin crust Neapolitan and remains my #1. Cannelloni and lasagna are outstanding main courses. Recently tried the veal scallopini and found it mouth watering. I usually drink my dessert. I recommend the Amaro Montenegro served straight up. The perfect digestif. Wonderful service, classic trattoria atmosphere, and excellent price point. Highly recommend.

Nice and quiet setting. Service was fine. Food was good. Portions are average. Price is reasonable. No complaints.

First restaurant in Sorrento, Italy and one of my top 3 so far in Italy! Convenient location in the middle of the touristy area above the coast, but no sea view, sorry. Friendly service with very functional English - more than enough to understand our dietary restrictions. Lots of vegetarian and some vegan options! Cuisine reflects the Amalfi Coast - lots of fresh seafood, citrus (lemons!), and tomatoes. Oh gosh, do yourself a favor if you do eat seafood - try any seafood dish, any. Many options for catch of the day, i.e. fresh fish, and charges by weight. I loved my seafood salad, which was so much fresher than anything I've had in Florence or Rome on this trip. The mussels are big and the prawns, with heads still attached, are big and fresh! Vegans and vegetarians - order the bruschetta Pomodoro (only 3 euros), which has 3 big pieces of artisan bread topped with well seasoned diced tomatoes and the grilled vegetables (7 euros). The grilled veggie platter was so beautiful and had so much variety and flavor - peppers, eggplants, onion, some kind of veggie fritter, zucchini, cherry tomatoes, etc. Everything is doused in olive oil, so is quite filling. Partner's vegetarian 4 cheeses pizza was only ok; it didn't elicit too much reaction except the usual, "it's good". He mentioned that the cheeses were softer than what he is used to, like the cheeses included brie or another soft type of cheese. Cover is 1.50 euros per person, which covers complimentary bread. No service charge. Air conditioning inside, but still kind of warm and sticky. I liked il Pozzo a lot for the jolly Italian servers (whistled as they worked), classy presentation of dishes, seafood and vegetables, and good value (37.50 euros for 2 appetizers and 2 mains and a cappuccino).

Of all our meals in Sorrento, this was by far our favorite. We did no research...just stumbled upon this little gem while gallivanting around Sorrento. We were able to snag a small table on the patio (prime people watching locale) and enjoy the beautiful night weather. The whole place is cozy, snug and inviting...twinkling lights and softly lit...it's a very romantic spot if you want it to be! JT and I decided to share a pizza - Pizza Bianca - to start. They very graciously split the pizza for us and served it on two plates so we didn't have to make the effort to cut it up ourselves. It was a white pizza with prosciutto, onions and mozzarella and man, it was tasty. Of course, probably a little filling...but the portion sizes of the second course weren't overwhelming. For the second course, I went for broke with the seafood risotto and I'm glad I did. It was absolutely delicious and while I couldn't manage to finish the entire plate of rice...I fished (pun intended) around for every little morsel of seafood I could find. Waste not, want not! We skipped dessert in favor of finding some gelato, but if the rest of the meal was any indication...I have no doubt it would have been delicious.

This is the second year in a row that we have come to Sorrento and dined at Il Pozzo. It seemed to me a bit different than it did last year, just a hunch but it may be under new management this year. My rating 3 stars for quality and flavor of food and service. Ron ordered the filetto with balsamic and I ordered the grilled pollo, just to have a healthier meal option, since I have been really over doing it on this vacation in Europe AKA Carb Heaven! The filetto steak was in a balsamic glaze and laid over a thin slice of bread. The pollo great was sliced thin and there were three good size pieces grilled and well seasoned and with quite a bit of the local Sorrento lemon juice drizzled all over the dish. We also ordered the grilled vegetables and the mixed salad to accompany our main courses. The grilled vegetables were served cold and marinated in EVOO, very flavorful and for the mixed salad you add the EVOO and balsamic vinegar which was available at table side and in a pump spray container. The restaurant is set at the intersection of two quite narrow roadways in downtown Sorrento. IF you sit outside, it may be a bit on the noisy side and you are likely to inhale the exhaust from the many vespa's and motorbikes traveling these narrow streets.

After a hot day of walking around Pompei, it was nice to find this restaurant and have a nice cold beer and incredibly good gnocchi. The staff was friendly and my tells me the bathroom was clean (also important after a day of sightseeing). Definitely a go to place.

The appetizer (clams and mussels) were phenomenal! We also got the ravioli and fish of the day and both were very underwhelming.

    Best risotto I've ever had!

The restaurant has an OK atmosphere but our fish special was "fishy". For a restaurant next to the sea that's unacceptable.

Having visited multiple places in Italy and Sicily the last time, this place stood out as one of the favorite spots on our trip. Of course we had to stop by again, and we were not disappointed. When in Sorrento, lemon pasta is a must, but I have the say that the true star was La Genovese pasta, which was recommended by our server. My husband still liked lemon pasta best, which means you really can't go wrong. Their bread was also delicious, particularly the white bread and the breadsticks, and they give you balsamic vinegar and olive oil for it. Considering most of the bread we had in Italy was surprisingly disappointing, it's exciting to eat somewhere that the food is good from start to finish. They also gave us one scoop of limoncello and one scoop of lemon gelato for dessert. Both were delicious, but my favorite was the lemon gelato. This is our second time back, and we would not hesitate to eat here again the next time we're in Sorrento. Servers were also friendly and helpful. The food does take a while, but that goes to show that it all is freshly made. This place is great whether it's for a casual dining experience or for date night. They also have free WiFi, just ask them for the info. I love that it's also a family establishment, and family members work at the restaurant. I'm already looking forward to my next visit here.

Busy place but worth the wait…read more Our Airbnb host recommended this restaurant for local food at reasonable prices. Apparently every other Airbnb host did the same because there was quite the line waiting to get inside. We waited about 20 minutes and the line moved quickly. Kudos to the staff who were excellent and interacted well with us both while in line an inside while eating. Everyone seemed so happy here. Once seated we ordered drinks and the stuffed zucchini appetizer. The complimentary bread was on target. Very good. One of us had lasagna, another had the fish, another had the Gorgonzola Ravioli and I had the Gorgonzola Gnocchi. I tried all the dishes and they were all yummy. Very well done and tasty. We shared the Lemon Surprise for dessert and it was sublime. So tasty. I highly recommend this restaurant but be prepared to wait in line for seating.

Just fun presentation for one of the most loaded seafood pastas I've ever had. The caprese salad was so fresh and generous, the calamari was light and rich, and the pasta was so perfect. I would recommend everyone come here if you can.
