Reserving and paying for the lift was easy online and I received a friendly follow-up call from Craig confirming the reservation shortly after. Delivery day of was on time as scheduled by personable Andy and away we went about our project with a clean, recent model diesel 34' Genie Lift. The lift periodically struggled to swing left/right at times so I called the shop and they had both Andy and Curt out to check on its operation on consecutive days. Rather doubtful I could've gotten such quick, personable attention from any of the larger chains. I've worked in commercial/industrial building construction for 35+ years and getting an equipment mechanic on site to service their leased equipment/machinery is often a hit or miss ordeal. Prices don't seem higher than the big bucks store - Home Depot - Just north of there, so you aren't paying a premium to work with a smaller more attentive business. Flawless? I came in to rent a chainsaw as I was going out into the world to cut some firewood. Let me tell y'all, I have never handled a chainsaw in my life, so I had exactly zero idea what I was looking for, or what to do with it once I found it. The staff at Aurora Rents not only helped me find the right chainsaw for the job (sadly it wasn't the one with the 24" blade), they also did a very thorough training on how to use the chainsaw and what all the safety mechanisms were. Ultimately, I didn't get to use the chainsaw that particular day, but when I came back again a few months later to rent a chainsaw again, I felt very prepared the first time I actually used it. Really fantastic service via phone and email to rent a BBQ grill for a corporate event. Karen Rice is who helped me out, and she was fantastic. Definitely using this Aurora Rents again! I was searching for a portable gas BBQ grill for the party and came across Aurora Rents. Not only did they have one, they will also deliver and pick up for the cost of mileage. Also rented out a couple gas tanks. Freaking awesome. Saved so much time and energy vs. trying to get someone at work to get the thing. Well worth the price. Just $80 for the day for a 48" propane grill plus the mileage/delivery fee. The two tanks were free. And our party was in Magnolia, and they brought it all the way out there for us. Hooray! Dave gave me good advice on the equipment needed for my job (wish I would have taken it). I managed to damage some equipment but we were able to come to a fair resolution. We rented two speakers, a mic and a stand for our wedding last month and these guys were super easy going about it all. The speakers ran on batteries and we were told we wouldn't need to plug them in, which was great news since we needed them for an outdoor ceremony. They helped my now husband set up the speakers to connect to his phone and made sure the mic was also connected through Bluetooth, I believe. I was a little hands off of this whole experience as my husband and dad were arranging the rental and pick up. We were able to get everything a day early without an extra charge which was awesome since it's one less thing to do the morning of the wedding. What I didn't know until after the wedding was that the speakers died while they were testing them outside. Ehh- thankfully my dad had planned for something like this and had two extension cords to use. When they died they also disconnected the phone and speakers, so it was a little stressful as guests were arriving by this time. One of the speakers they weren't able to get working again so we rolled with it. The following day we had to return the speakers however we weren't thinking they might have holiday hours due to Labor Day. When we called to confirm our drop off they let us know they would be closing before we would be able to make it in, so the manager approved for us to return the following day without an extra charge. I can't tell you how thankful we were for their flexibility with picking up and dropping off. During our drop-off the gentleman who came out to help was quick and very friendly. I would recommend this spot for rentals, as the price was affordable, they have a friendly staff and it's an easy location to get to from the north end. Unbelievably terrible customer experience. I still can't believe that I got treated like a piece of crap and I was told repeatedly that I was "Done... you are done" over and over before I left the store. I rented an insulation vacume machine. While using it on a project, a flapper vent became loose and got blown of in to the garbage container. Before I noticed it, the dump truck had already gone. When I explained it to Dave Steel, he said that he would have to charge me for the part because I didn't buy insurance. I told him that I didn't damage it and that it was a mechanical default on their part that the flapper was loose and got blown away. He told me to give him the lost part back, or he has to charge me a damage fee. I didn't agree with him,I strongly felt like i havent done anything for the part the get loose and fly out but I told him that there is no point to argue and that I will pay for the part if he thinks he is right. The next thing he does is he hands me a receipt and tells me two words over and over while I am making way outside. "You're done." "You're done." "You're done." I am a bissines owner. I never raised my voice, and I spoke in the nice and calm maner. I still can't wrap my mind about how I got treated. I'm not coming back and not recommending this rental place. there are many friendlier rental places out there. read more

In the rare case that we've had problems with the equipment, most of the times they're able to help me troubleshoot over the phone & if the equipment is really problematic (which is rare), they'll send a truck out with a replacement machine at no extra charge. BIG MISTAKE renting a paint sprayer from this company. I could have bought a new one for LESS than what I paid to rent one from them. I was charged $569.68 for 4 days. Actually, I only used it 2 days but had to rent 1 day before use and finished the job after business hours so charged another day. A NEW sprayer just like the one I rented sells for $450. They rent everything. I really like their new location in Shoreline, the place is really nice and clean and all of the equipment is displayed well. We were having a party and with a keg and an ice luge already we felt we needed one more option to complete the booze trifecta... a slurpee machine. If you didn't have a good time at this party you were doing something wrong. The machine we rented was a two flavor system so we could have margaritas going on one side and daiquiris on the other... I haven't seen alcohol disappear quicker. Although it's important to note that you can't mix in the booze until after the machine has turned the mixers into slushies. If you put it in from the beginning it won't ever freeze on account of the liquor. The guys at aurora rents helped me get the machine into my car and told me how to use the thing. Returning it the next day with a massive hangover wasn't much fun but what are you gonna do. They take care of all the cleaning so you don't have to worry about it. Good thing too since I don't know the first thing about slurpee machine maintenance. Conclusion: machine was clean and well maintained, worked perfectly, fair price, friendly and helpful employees. read more

Big, clean, well-lit store that seems to have just about everything. I rented a floor buffer for a week. It was super heavy duty, well maintained, and clean. They carried it out and loaded my car for me, and made sure I knew how to use it. I ran into stop-and-go traffic on my way there to return it, just before it was due back, and I knew it was going to make me late picking up visitors from the airport after that. I called to explain my situation. They said no problem, and they let me bring it back after my airport run a few hours later without charging me extra. Hassel free return--no paperwork! I have used Aurora Rents for over 30 years and the Shoreline location for the past 23 years. I rented an lawn aerator yesterday. They loaded it for me and gave me the basic operating instructions. Back home and proceeded with the job. Finally came to realize that with the slight slope of the yard to prevent water from pooling next to the house the aerator would not operate in certain areas and certain directions. It may have just been that particular unit but I finally gave up trying to make it work. I took it back and explained my situation which admittedly sounded strange. I had the unit for about two hours of a 4 hour rental period with a total cost of $90.00. I was hoping they might giver me a break on the 4 hour rental agreement. The gentleman at the front desk said I'm going to refund your total charge. If you weren't satisfied with the aerator I'm not going to charge you. That was more than I expected. I have always had good service there but this was above and beyond. read more

I just had the BEST customer service experience while speaking with Aurora Rents this morning. I need a knee scooter. I spent, literally, hours on the phone with my insurance carrier and their contracted providers in search of a scooter. No one provides knee scooters. I'm limited on my ability to use crutches and out of network providers either don't have any in stock or are cost prohibitive. As a last resort, I contacted Aurora Rents. The gentleman I spoke with was super helpful and pleasant to deal with. Not only do they have scooters (11 in stock to be exact), but I'm getting a great deal on the rental price. I'd rather pay out of pocket than continuing to rip my hair out while dealing with a carrier that has no vendors that provide durable medical equipment that meet my personal medical needs. Sent my daughter this weekend to rent a paint sprayer because we were painting the entire outside of my other daughters 70 year old house that had divets in it that needed a sprayer. I have a Wagner 2000 sprayer and tried to use that but the paint was too thick to go through it. We decided to rent one. She brought it home and I said did they show you how to use it, she said no. She was charged over $260 to rent this sprayer, and they made her buy a $30 sprayer pin tip to use it and it took 3 of us 30 minutes and couldn't figure it out. Maybe guys know how to use this but we couldn't . We made her return it because it was doing us no good not being used. They were rude to her when she returned it and said it was the easiest thing to use, made her keep the paint sprayer tip ($30) because we opened it. No shit Sherlock, how else were we suppose to put it on. The next day went to Miller's Rent in Edmonds and had the exact opposite experience. They explained how to use it, had the paint tip in it (no extra charge) and was only $70 to rent. read more

Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but these guys are way different from the people at their Greenlake location. I will never go there again unless I absolutely have to. Coupla things: When I asked if I could return the tool at the Greenlake store, the clerk responded "I guess, if you want to be one of those kind of customers". I had to ask the guy who was hooking up my trailer lights to please go get the testing kit they have so we could eliminate their trailer lights as the problem (my lighting connection is quirky, when at the Greenlake store the first thing they did was bring out this kit). His gruff and reluctant response was less than friendly. When I returned the tool that same unfriendly guy commented in a very nasty tone "you're lucky this thing didn't fall off" (in reference to the tool I had chained to their trailer). I should add, they did give me a break on rental fees for a tool I ended up not using. So not all bad, just old school gruff that I prefer not to deal with. read more

I rented a chainsaw from here. The place is clean, the employees are polite and helpful, and there are some delightful dogs who also appear to work there. The saw was well maintained. I received good instruction on using it. I was a little late getting the saw back. They didn't even mention it. I started going here when they started carrying stihl products. I brought 15 year old ms 250 for Sam to fix. He went above and beyond anything I ever expected with his work in the machine as well as helping me out. The whole store has great customer service all across the board. I also bought a Honda trimmer after bringin back a stihl trimmer that didn't meet my expectations. My one and only thing that bugged me was that the price of the Honda trimmer was $20 more expensive than everywhere else in the area andnthey dont price match. However it's really not a big deal to me, what's $20, I guess. Although we all like to save as much as we can on products, so I shop around to see what the average price is and find my favorite shop I like to support and buy it there. It was the first time that I spent more money than I had to on a product. The gentleman who fired up the Honda for me, I think his name is mike..: he used to work at hertz equipment rental. He is awesome too, he has always been so helpful with products I purchase or rent! Definitely Sam and mike (if it's his name) are some of the best gentleman when it comes to knowledge of Their products, customer service, and willingness to help. They always kill it. read more

Aurora Rents is a great rental store, but I didn't realize they also have a huge selection of new tools and equipment for sale at great prices. They have a really nice Stihl display and Dave went through all of the options they had. I bought the Stihl Kombi System base and the line trimmer and hedge trimmer attachments. They explained in detail how they work and told me how to double the warranty by buying the mixing oil. The trimmers both work great and exactly as advertised. The store is massive and very well stocked, and looks brand new. The staff is always helpful and has greats tips every time I come in to rent tools and equipment for my projects. They always know the best thing to rent for the job. I highly recommend Aurora Rents. read more
