They closed 2 yrs ago during covid. This was our company preferred vendor for event tents, chairs and permitting requirements in the city.

I have used R&R rentals and their previous named company for over forty years. They are extremely helpful in all matters, whether it involves trenching, tile cutting, renting floor sanders, and on and on. This is a tough one for me. I've used these guys before with no problems, until now. I've been trying to free some time to to aerate my lawn. I had thatched it and after I returned the thatcher I called and asked if I should reserve an aerator for an upcoming Saturday. Whoever I spoke with said nah, there's a bunch of them,just come in I'm sure we'll have one. Well about two weeks later I went and they had decided to close on Saturdays because of the virus. Sigh. I called again and they said my only option was to rent it Friday and bring it back Monday morning first thing and pay the day rate. Another sigh, I guess that's what I'll do. When I picked it up I told them it would be mid day Monday as I work Monday morning. They said no problem. Well, as I had expected, it only took me around an hour to aerate. When I brought it back I asked to chat with the manager. Explained I had followed their directions and got screwed as they closed on Saturday. Could you give me a break on price (less than $50 for a couple of hours, almost $150. For the day). He not only said no but he also flipped me s..t about bringing it back late. I told him I was told I could as I work Monday morning! He reiterated I was lucky he didn't add charges. So, I get it. I rented the machine expecting to pay the day rate and had second thoughts after the fact because of how quickly I got the job done. But, he didn't have to be a dick about it. Frankly, if he was smart he could have offered to split the difference or made some token gesture to make me feel a little better about my mistake. Instead he chose to piss me off. read more

I am so happy to have this place nearby. We had first rented a giant steam cleaner from them, years ago, to clean our carpets. And then we got stuck in another days-long power outage thanks to the heavy snow and trees. By day two, I was fed up but figured it'd be hard to find anyone with a generator in stock. Then I remembered this place. When I called, the guy first told me about a pretty big generator but we didn't think it would fit in my car. (My husband thought it would, but he was still at work so I thought "I'll just put all the seats down, take everything out and try because I CANNOT TAKE ANOTHER DAY WITHOUT ELECTRICITY. Now, here's why I love them: when I got there, the two guys up front (I wish I had their names, one is either the manager or the owner) said it probably wouldn't fit. I grew up fixing cars and doing home repairs but men are often SO condescending to me about all this stuff. The guys at R&R were really friendly and they didn't treat me like an idiot. They both said it probably wouldn't fit but let's go take a look at the trunk anyway. We looked and nope, no dice. They did, however have smaller generators which was totally fine. Signed the paperwork, they brought the gen out, quickly showed me how to turn it on without laboring over the process, put it in the car, and off I went. It's a little thing (but also a big thing) and I just really really appreciate being treated like a competent human being when it comes to tools and mechanical things. Aside from that, they've got so many things that you need occasionally but don't necessarily want to buy. Or, in our case, it's nice to try this generator out before we decide to invest in one. I've been renting equipment from R & R since 2007 and they've always been a great member of the community and provide great service. I've rented chainsaws, backhoes, tractors with rototillers, sod cutters, stump grinders and probably some tools I'm forgetting. They've always been fair and friendly. I wanted to respond to Matthew L.'s review because I was standing at the counter when that exchange happened. I'm afraid I was the one that said "It's a long way to Enumclaw" not the guy behind the counter. I'm guessing Matthew L. doesn't like that things are more expensive in Kirkland/Bellevue then in most other towns and I feel the same. While I meant it in a way that was like "I feel your pain, brother" it came across as Eastside snooty, an attitude completely absent from the guys at R&R. They've got high rents to pay so probably can't give away chainsaw blades. read more

If you want a place that people gives you the best customer service possible. This is the place, Laura and Jake had been fantastic in answering my questions, accomodating for the equipment rental. I honestly find interesting some of the bad reviews by some customers. My personal experience is that if you treat people nicely with respect most likely they will respond the same way. This place has terrible customer service. Every time I've called or been in their shop all I've been met with is a rude associate with a bad attitude. I've always let it go since its the closest location to me. The last time I rented from you I requested insurance (as I always do) and when I happened to have an issue with your tractor I was told "it sucks you didn't get insurance" when I tried to explain that I had indeed asked for insurance your associate was the WORST. I ended up paying for the fix and was told I'm no longer allowed to rent from them. I will be sharing my experience with others. read more

The hot water heater in my house popped its lid, (apparently rusted itself out), flooding the lower level and soaking carpet in two bedrooms and a hallway. Having some associated knowledge, (friends having undergone a similar mishap), I knew I needed at least something to suck up the 1/2 inch of water standing on the floor, and at most an additional something(s) to blow air across the carpets once that was done. (what a zen experience, in retrospect, needing to both suck and blow) I decided I needed a wet/dry vac, and called Home Depot and a neighborhood shop to compare rates for a day. R&R beat the Depot by 5 bones a day, so I called them back to reserve the unit and drove down to pick it up. I was met by two friendly gentlemen running the shop on a Saturday morning. While showing me the equipment and looking to outfit me with proper accessories, they listened to my situation and determined I'd be better off with another piece of equipment - one apt to pull up more water, faster. They also happened to have a nice big carpet fan, just right for the dilemma of the hour. Both fellows carefully explained the equipment and related similar scenarios they'd experienced or heard customers relate. They set me up with a good rate, helped me load things up, and I was on my way. Simple, cost effective, equipment worked as advertised, and the staff were helpful and friendly. A++, and glad to have them in the neighborhood this waterlogged weekend! read more

I rented spray washing equipment from R&R in Bellevue after an awful experience at Home Depot. In contrast to Home Depot, the R&R staff were very knowledgeable and helpful, the equipment was first rate (HD rents junk), and the cost was even slightly less than HD. I have rented a ton of equipment over the years and R&R's quality and service is by far the best. read more

Definitely not a fan, poor service and gentleman behind counter calling the shots was rude as hell. Bought 2 24inch chain saw blades for $70.00 and when i asked if there was a better deal when 2 were purchased i was tod ( you buy foist one for 30.00 and then 2nd one for 30.00). Usually purchase from cutters supply and they honor multi blade discount. When i told them that i was told its a long drive to Enumclaw. Bad attitudes, bad service and wont be back. Called them up about getting my lawn mower services (oil change, blades sharpened, etc) and they said it would take about a day. So, I took it in on a Friday morning and dropped it off. The guy said there was an outside chance they'd have the work completed that day, but by tomorrow at the latest. So the next day I call up to check on the status of they service. A guy named Adam answers the phone and I ask him if my lawn mower is ready for pickup. He says it will be another week or 2. I told him that 2 other people told me it would be about a day. He says he can't help me and that I need to just come and pick the lawn mower up. No apology of any kind...instead just a waste of an hour to drop it off and an hour to pick it up. They also said I needed to pay only in cash, which is pretty sketchy bc they take credit cards. Wonder if this part of their business is completely under the table and therefore illegal? read more

To be avoided in my opinion. I have rented from them three times...no more. I gave them repeat business because they seem like nice guys. But the bottom line is that when I rent equipment I need it to work. Their equipment every time has been old, poorly maintained and most importantly every piece of equipment has performed poorly every single time. Also, on those occasions (two of three times) that I made polite mention of their equipment short comings they have blithely dismissed my comments. You would think they'd understand that those polite mentions indicated that I was not the happiest customer, but didn't want to make a big issue of it. They simply didn't care what I thought and seemed to believe that making lite of my comments was appropriate. No way I'll rent from them again. read more

Came in a couple weekends ago to rent a tile saw. Had reserved one over the phone (8 inch) and was talking to the clerk about the project as I was picking up the tool. He told me that I needed the larger, 12 inch version to cut the pieces I wanted cleanly and effectively. Sure enough, he was right, and he didn't grumble about having to re-do the paperwork completely, since I'd paid and was walking out the door already. Unlike many other rental places, their saws are rented with the blade included, which was awesome. Things were in great shape, and worked flawlessly. I got a quick intro to the tool, a safety briefing, and then he even carried the heavy saw to my car for me and helped load it in. I'm no novice to power tools -- I have a full lathe/mill/metal shop in my garage -- but this was my first tile project, so I appreciated the information. The next weekend, I went back and had to rent an 8 inch saw to finish up some borders and other work I didn't manage to get done the first time. Same great experience, and they refunded some of my money when I had the saw back in 4 hours. Overall - very knowledgable and very friendly folks working here who were more than helpful with figuring out what I _really_ needed to get the job done right. Very reasonable pricing as well. I'd use these guys again when I need to rent a tool for some remodeling work! read more

Will not forget R&R Rentals for their excellent customer service during a stressful time for our family due to the snow and power outages. All gentlemen were kind and patient with us as we pondered the best approach to hand our freezing household. With two toddlers in tow, they assisted in helping us navigate through our options on how to best heat up our household. They even allowed us to return the two generators early and gave us 2/3 of our money back since our power was restored earlier then predicted. Evidently the owner has issues standing by what his employees quote to customers. Beware of the fine print vs. what they 'tell' you. If someone tells you something different than what is in the contract, the contract wins. Don't trust these guys to 'do what they say will do'. Rates, return dates, extensions....you get it in writing. Wont do business with a company that doesn't stand by their 'word'...keep on your toes with this one they will tell you what you want to hear, even if its not accurate! read more
