We rented a pressure washer and despite being told it would be $100 for the 3 day holiday, as we couldn't bring it back when it was closed, they charged us $90 extra when we bought it back. I could have bought one for less then I paid to rent and have it done. read more

Very clean organized facility with friendly and knowledgeable staff

I've worked with these guys for 27 years, first as AA rentals and later as Hertz. Hertz definitely took the corporate approach, cutting a lot of the experienced staff and selling off equipment when the recession took hold. That left a lot of the older guys who know what they're doing to a T but might be a little slow to load. Still, they're really good to work with and they've got everything. Some things, like lifts, might need a three or four days advance notice. And delivery is a stiff $175. If you're in that area of town, they're easy to get to. I might be wrong but I think the nearest other Hertz is way out in Bothell. In that case, you use Aurora Rents on 175th. read more

Nice guys - set me up with a weekend rental. The equipment was new and they directed me to the right tool for the job. Also free popcorn. I would use them again rather than drive all the way out to Home Depot. read more

As with any tool rental it depends as much as whether they have the tool on the shelf or if you get a tool "helping" you on the other side of the counter. Double check what they give you as they're very quick to just throw the first thing they think of at you. I guess it makes them feel smart or something. I wound up with an incompatible tool, so two trips and they still charged me for the extras, not happy. read more

I've only been here once- our company normally goes to the location off of 4th- but based on this experience I'm happy to give 5 stars. The short story is I was working on pier 90 and had 45 minutes to find a trash pump before a very large boat overfilled its gray water tanks and had to spill off into the sound. This Hertz was the closest rental place. The counter guy said he only had one pump left but it was reserved for the next morning. I explained my situation and he offered to give me the reserved pump and bring one in early the next morning for the other customer so everyone would be happy. From the second I walked in to the second the pump was loaded in my truck and I was on my way was under 10 minutes. These guys saved the day. read more

This place has everything. I rented an impact wrench which was very nice and not very expensive. I also get my propane tanks filled here. But if you need a crane, ladder or any other tool for a day give them a call. The only down side is it takes a while to get anything when they are even slightly busy. read more

These guys wanted $48 for a ladder that we needed for an hour. They wouldn't even do a half day rate. I've never seen such a rip off. I've taken my business elsewhere and won't be back here. Our shop is six blocks away and I'd rent here all the time if I didn't think it was such a rip-off. read more

I was really happy with the service that this place provided! I was in the middle of painting our house when we needed a VERY large ladder. I drove down picked it up and dropped it off the next day for a very nominal 24 $ saving me hundreds !! thanks hertz rentals! read more

Went to new haven location. Sent us a boom lift for a month with a diesel label on the fuel tank and a gasoline/propane engine! Worked for a few days till we put in the labeled diesel. Theyre mechanic couldn t make it work on gasoline so gave us a propane tank with a vapor connnection that would ice up solid and stop working after only 5 minutes of use. Called 12 times over 3 days to be hung up on. Finally contacted us several weeks after we got a credit card chargeback to harrass us for a full months bill even though we barely were able to use the machine for a few days. Still after us and are threatening collections for full amount months later. read more

I would of preferred to give this place a negative 5 stars....Customer service??? Yeah right!!! This rental place is as weak as they come! My company rented a rotohammer bit to drill one hole.....The bit was so old and used up it took an hour to drill one hole....We didn't even finish getting the hole through 3" of concrete! A bit agrevated I took the bit back to get a different one and they told me that "I ruined their bit and need to pay to replace it with a brand new bit"........Really? Is this how they upgrade their rental tools? I asked to speak to the manager. The manager who looked to be 70 years old proceeded to tell me that he's been in the business a long time and that people trust him and that he would never rent a bad bit....Especially not for $55.00 plus tax for an hour of worthless work. I refused to pay for a brand new bit when the bit that I used was at least ten years old and not even able to perform the task it was intended for. I held up my part of the deal....why couldn't they? I was told that if I didn't pay to replace the bit that my employee who rented the bit's info would be turned over to the authorities for destruction of property and would face charges!!! Now that's great business!!! MAD AS ALL HELL....I payed their bill.....They gave me the worked over bit and had the audascity to say they could order me another bit to finish the job but it would take a couple days to get it from another branch! As if I would want to give them another $55.00 plus tax and wait for these LOSERS to get me another worthless bit so I could then maybe pay to replace that one as well!!! I then went to Aurora rents and rented a bit that went through concrete like butter and it was $15.00 cheaper to rent. Moral of the story......Don't pay to be treated like dirt from the lady at the counter and the old man manager of Hertz rentals on Leary way in Ballard. You will be much better off not giving them your business...Please go elsewhere and save yourself time, money and your sanity. read more

I needed a tool they didn't have so I made a reservation for the following weekend. When I went in to pick it up they showed me the tool and rang me up. As I was moving it to the car I asked where the blades were for the tool. They said they weren't able to get any and would have to order them. I'm not sure why they thought I'd want to pay for and move a machine that was unusable. Luckily another place had the tool I needed so I only lost a couple hours rather than the entire weekend for doing my project (doubly lucky because I found a better rental place and won't need to go back to Hertz). read more

Ive done Business with this location more times than i can count over the past 7+ years. And ive never had a bad experience once. One of my biggest pet peeves is having to deal with somebody that does'nt know how to do his or her job. Not the case with these guys. read more

Don't rent from these guys. I wanted to rent a carpet cleaner for a couple of hours. The guy told me no because he wanted to rent it for the weekend. This was from the guy who works there. I'll never rent from these rip offs again. read more
