Aussie is NOT what it used to be. I come for services to help my beloved cat. She is not "a thing" or a "he". She is a SHE and she's a beautiful girl who doesn't deserve medical neglect, an unsanitary office, and to be BURNED by her flea medication. The staff was unempathetic and unhelpful with her bleeding mysteriously lumps that appeared after taking anti-biotics. Dr.Machado kept saying "I'm confused" everytime I'd bring up a point or concern!! he just gave her shots to relieve her symptoms and I'm still unsure what skin reaction she has :( few days later and now she's battling a fever. She keeps getting worse after each visit! AND they charge a $10 cleaning fee to not even clean!!!! Look at the scale my cat stepped on. There was random shit stains and baby ticks crawling around. Horrible experience. Latest update: she died because the medication used to treat her symptoms, lowered her immune system so the real issue took over her body. read more

I took my 10-week-old kitten, Nala, to this hospital on Saturday, June 20, 2026. She was diagnosed with mange and prescribed 1.50 mL of Ivermectin. The hospital administered the first oral dose that day and instructed us to continue giving the medication every 24 hours for 14 days. On Sunday, June 21, 2026, at approximately 1:00 p.m., my husband administered the second dose as directed. By 8:00 p.m. that evening, Nala was barely able to walk. The following morning, Monday, June 22, she was unable to eat, could not walk, and appeared extremely weak and lethargic. Concerned about her condition, we immediately took her back to the hospital. We were advised to leave her overnight so that she could receive IV fluids and supportive care. On Tuesday, June 23, when my husband went to check on her, we were informed that Nala had passed away. I believe this situation warrants further review. Nala's condition deteriorated rapidly after receiving the prescribed medication, and I am deeply concerned about whether the dosage was appropriate for a 10-week-old kitten. After researching online reviews, I found another account from a pet owner who reported a similar experience. I want to share my experience to warn other pet owners. Over the years, I took both my cats and my dog to this vet, and the experiences were deeply troubling. Misdiagnoses and dangerous advice: I had an outdoor cat that I took to this vet. I asked if she was pregnant, and he did x-rays, telling me she wasn't. About a week or two later, she was clearly in pain and I followed his advice and gave her Tylenol, which I now know is unsafe for cats. That day the cat went into labor and had her kittens. So not only is Tylenol unsafe, but I also gave it to a pregnant cat. How does a doctor do x-rays and still miss that??? Unnecessary procedures and pressure: I was repeatedly pressured to spay my dog, clean her teeth when they were mostly healthy, and declaw my cats--even though declawing is abusive and harmful. Following their advice resulted in almost all of my dog's healthy teeth being removed, leaving her with just one or two front teeth. Dismissive behavior: When my dog developed a post-spay lump, the same vet dismissed it as nothing serious. Only after switching vets did I learn she had an abdominal hernia caused by the spay surgery. This clinic clearly prioritized profit over the welfare of my pets, resulting in unnecessary suffering for them and emotional trauma for me. I do not trust this vet and strongly advise anyone to seek care elsewhere. My advice to other pet owners: advocate for your pets, get second opinions, and don't let pressure influence decisions about your animals' health. read more

Update: took my cat to another vet and they were horrified by what was done. I was told the stitches were extremely too tight and her bandage was on too tight, not allowing her ear to heal properly. Now her ear will forever look like this and she was in pain for weeks. Trust me guys, if you love your pets, NEVER come here!!!! I've been waiting to post my review until I can say things without being rude. This has been the absolute worst service I've ever encountered. I was referred by a friend when my cat needed surgery for an ear hematoma. Here's how it all went down: I called them to see if they had available appointments. They told me they didn't have anything for a few weeks but if I got there early in the morning they would see me as a walk-in although I would have to wait an hour or so to be seen. Huge red flag. I work in the medical field and I know walk-ins are a pain but for you to not have available appointment slots for "sick" or "injured" animals is poor scheduling on the staff. You should always have appointments available for sick or injured patients because life happens and sometimes you need to have an unexpected visit to the doctor. Anyways, I get there at 7:45am before they even open and I'm the 1st person there. At 8am when they open, I call to give them my information. At 10:30 I was still waiting to be seen. I called and ask them if I could at least use their bathroom since I've been waiting since 7:45am. I'm told I can't but that I can try the sub shop next door. Riiiiight, and what do I do with my cat? Leave her in the hot car because you know, Miami is hot...ok... at 11:45 they finally call me to be seen. I don't get to go in with her because of Covid (fine, whatever). I'm told to come pick her up at 5. I picked her up and was told that everything went well and she will need to keep the bandage on for a few days but it could be taken off after 3 days. I paid and left. Wasn't told to come back for a follow up or anything. A few days later, I told myself to call and ask if the stitches would come off on their own since no one told me to come back. When I call them, I am told that I was supposed to come in that morning for a follow up. I told the girl that no one told me that, otherwise I would have been there. I am not the kind of person who misses appointments. She responded with "well...you can come as a walk in but there will be a wait" at this point I lost it and told her absolutely not, I wasn't going to wait another 4 hours to be seen. I told her I would take my cat somewhere else. At this point she said "well, I can try to get you in through the backdoor so you don't need to wait". How convenient... I went as I was told and then told to come back in another week for another follow up. My last and final time here. I come to this last follow up. My appointment was at 8am. It is 8:50 and I still have not been called in so I call them and they tell me I'm next. They take my cat and as I'm waiting outside for them to be done with her, I see the following things: a man is handed his dog back and the medication for his dog. He proceeds to tell the techs that he has this medication and it isn't working, isn't there something else? They respond with "That's what the doctor is prescribing". The man is clearly upset but walks off. A woman approached me and asked if I've been waiting long. I told her my experience and she tells me how she's been waiting over an hour to be seen as well. I've been told by people that the vets are great but honestly I didn't get the chance to experience that with how crappy their service was. It completely ruined the ability to even get to know the doctor. I'm supposed to go for another follow up but I've requested full records and will be going somewhere else. I came to Aussie after an emergency at home. I didn't have an appointment and I came across Aussie because I googled the closest animal hospital to me. I walked inside and explained what happened and they saw me immediately. The customer service and care they showed me was incredible. The entire staff and even front desk people were so helpful. Every single time I've come in here I have been "greeted" with the most sassy and unwelcoming attitudes. No one smiles. No one really seems to care. Every time I'm in here or call to make an appointment, I feel like they all just grunt and groan and are pissed off that I exist at all. Then this past week I received two separate emails stating that my puppy was in urgent need of a specific vaccination -- so I schedule an appointment online to get it done. (Side note, my dog is severely car sick so she throws up every time). So I drive over there, clean up vomit, get inside and am again drearily greeted....just to find out that my dog is up-to-date. I was referred to this veterinarian location through Humane Society since I usually took both my dogs there for shots. I"ve always been skeptical of vet locations because of the prices, incorrect diagnosis , and added costs for no clear reason why. My English Bulldog has been pretty healthy so I haven't had major issues forcing me to take him to the vet. However I've gone to 3 prior to this location. There aren't enough words to express my gratitude and experience for this location and Dr. Machado. I brought my French Bulldog here due to a limp and although the news weren't the best, their level of sympathy, care and kindness are truly admirable to see. The love the staff and Dr Machado show for people's pets are remarkable to see and genuine. I definitely appreciate all they have done for my pets and their honesty and straight forward communication. The place is clean, well kept and service is awesome. Even with a good amount of pets and owners waiting, they move pretty quick and give you all the information you need for your pet. read more

My first experience was great. The front office girls were sweet and welcoming. The doctor was quick and to the point. I made my appt for the next visit on a Saturday. No problem. My second appt ... horrible. I walk in, and the girl in the front says how can I help you? I said good morning. I have an appt, she says no you don't. We don't have appts on Saturday. I said yes, we do. She said what's the pets name? I said Ella She said for some reason you're here so sit down. ‍ WTF? Rude. So then I get called into a room and the vet tech says so what's the issue. I said, nothing. I have an appt. He stopped looking at the computer and said on a Saturday?? At this point I was done. This is an office issue of the whole place. IF YOU DONT HAVE APPTS ON SATURDAYS WHY DO YOU EVEN GIVE THEM? WHY IN THE WORLD DOES YOUR OFFICE SAY BUSINESS HOURS ON A SATURDAY? Best part was they all could CLEARLY see on their damn computers that I was indeed in the system for an appt! If you don't like your job, leave. Positions are open all over the place. Dr Machado is the BEST vet ever!!! He performed surgery on my doggie and he saved her life. She was extremely weak and not thriving. He didnt even charge me what others would. The office is great, the staff is friendly, he is caring, compassionate but a man of few words. I honestly thought my dog was going to die and when he showed me pictures of the procedure and what he found inside of her, I almost died. I called here three hours before I was to get on a plane for my daughters wedding. My 14 year old Collie mix had too much fun the night before running around in the yard and could barely stand. I was in a panic and the vet I usually would go to was far. They told me I would need an appointment but when I explained the situation they told me that they would fit her in. I will never take my Abbey anywhere else. Dr. Machado got down to her level, talked to her gently as he moved her back legs to see what the problem could be. I have never had a vet that was as kind and gentle and I have had my fair share of animals. He did not push anything that was not necessary...told me to wait five days and if she was not better THEN we would do x-rays. Not only are they wonderful but they are reasonable. When I moved back recently I'd asked around and read reviews but was still putting off settling until my last vet forced me to make a decision. I finally settled on on Aussie Animal Hospital after hearing an amazing story from a friend about the amazing care her fur babies had received, and after one visit I've decided it's more than worth a 45 minute drive. Specific things I loved: - Everyone in the office seemed wonderful. Even the other clients around seemed like-minded - making me feel like I was in the right place immediately. - Dr. Machado was not only kind but really seemed to care. My senior feline has early stage CKD. My previous vet and I talked a lot about possible ways to slow it down and I've done a lot of independent research. He was familiar with all things we discussed and able to jump right in with recommendations of his own. - Pricing seems incredibly reasonable and very fair - so I'm not afraid to keep up with regular visits. read more

The vet is amazing! So amazing that I have waited hours... literally hours to see him. Our pet received surgery and needed his stitches removed after. Also his Stitches did burst open and required to be check by the vet. I can understand waiting hours for that walk-in but it is know that my pet needs his stitches removed. Five star treatment through and through. I am so happy a friend recommended this veterinarian. I tend to be very cynical where veterinarians are concerned after one too many bad experiences throughout the years. The staff at Aussie put me at ease from the start. I took my American bulldog to have a mass removed and even though I couldn't go in due to Covid, the entire process was quite easy. I arrived for the first visit and there was plenty of visible signage with new rules. I stayed in my car called the clinic and was checked in on the phone. They asked what kind of car I was in and where I was parked. Shortly after I nice young lady came and got Rocco from the car. I was called with updates throughout his visit. When they were done with him he's was brought back to the car. Later on in the afternoon I was called as promised and given an estimate. The doctor was happy to work within my budget. Rocco was scheduled for surgery the following week. I arrived the morning of his surgery and was quickly checked in from my car. I met the doctor and his staff in the alley behind the practice where they sedated Rocco as he sat in my car and took him straight to surgery from my car. Dr. Maldonado was available over the weekend and returned my phone call very quickly. Looks like I've found a new vet for my four legged babies. My dog developed a bump on his head out of nowhere, so after monitoring it for a couple of days to see if its just swelling that would go down or not, I decided to take my pup here. I got out of work late and made it to their office with a minute to spare, and they happily offered to take him in for a look. The doc gave us some anti-inflammatory and took care of his rabies shot as well! AND I didn't have to pay as much as I thought I was going to have to. Thanks a lot guys! read more

We are new in town and one of our dogs has to eventually have surgery on her other knee so finding a great vet is extremely important to us. I'm not sure if it was just a bad day or they were over booked but we ended up cancelling our apt. When we showed up it was in a strip mall which I could handle but then there was this drunk stumbling around that kept trying to pet our dogs. When we went inside there is really only one exam area and it's not in a closed room. The whole area is open. We checked in and there was BLOOD on the floor. I thought maybe she didn't know so I said something 30 mins of waiting and it was still on the floor. Not one person cleaned it. Totally grossed me out I don't want my dogs stepping in that! We left. Do not recommend. Sketch city and it was dirty I can only imagine what I couldn't see. Cancelled our apt don't plan on going back and 'iodined' the pups paws when we got home. read more

I have been bringing my dog here for years and this is the only Veterinary clinic I trust. The staff and doctors are friendly and compassionate, theyre not trying to nickel and dime you. I have brought my dog in here for 2 serious conditions, 1 was a mamary tumor which grew to the size of a tennis ball. I was sure she would not live long, as she is no longer a puppy, but Dr Machado took care of my furbaby and 4 years later, no problems! Most recently she suffered a gastrointestinal issue, and had to be hospitalized, it was very scary but she's home and good as new! Both these instances they have charged significantly less than other places would. They do a good job of keeping record of all her information, sending reminders of checkups, explaining everything to put your mind at ease. I love them! My 8 year old yorkie wasn't feeling well for a couple of days. As I searched for near by veterinarian, I came across Aussie Animal hospital that had very good reviews online. I called and told them my baby's symptoms and they told me to bring her in immediately for an emergency spay. I rushed over and they took care of me right away. The doctor spoke to me and explained why she was sick. He told me he would operate her immediately, because it was a life threatening infection. He saved my baby's life! The clinic is very crowded on Saturdays, and it is walk in only on Saturdays, but the doctors there are wonderful. Another clinic we had visited called my dog ill tempered, and he was so agitated there that they had to sedate him to get an X-ray. At Aussie Animal Hospital, they did not have to sedate him to get an X-ray, and they were very kind to him while taking care of his cough. Great place and very reasonable prices! read more
