I'm very grateful my cat is okay and ended up eating normally. The front desk and vet assistant were both kind and supportive, and I really appreciate their help. The vet assistant in particular was understanding and tried to reassure me when I was still confused. HOWEVER , I was disappointed with my experience with the veterinarian. I brought my cat in for loss of appetite and felt I was initially scared over the phone instead of being calmly guided on what to monitor at home. During the physical exam, she checked his stomach, said there were no signs of a blockage, and confirmed he was active and alert, but the visit still escalated toward recommending extensive and expensive testing 2 thousand dollars without a clear explanation of urgency. When I declined the recommended treatment, the interaction changed and I didn't receive much practical guidance afterward on simple next steps like diet or at-home monitoring. Overall, I left the consultation feeling more confused than informed for a very high-cost visit, and I had to rely on outside research afterward , paid $55 for her to tell me she didn't what was happening to my cat , could of just told me to check his stomach over the phone u could tell the true intentions of this vet , I DONT RECOMMEND Thankfully everything turned out to be mild and resolved quickly, but I would encourage other pet owners to ask questions and make sure they fully understand what is truly urgent versus what can be safely observed at home before agreeing to costly testing. read more

I have been coming here for the past 27 years. I came in today for a dental consult and left with an estimate of $1400 for a dental cleaning with bloodwork. This was once an amazing clinic with amazing doctors and front staff. The only left is Carmen who by far is the only golden nugget left here. I guess the new owner wants all of us to pay for the upgraded office. They used to offer a teacher discount and now that has been eliminated. Over the past 27 years, I have recommended many people. Maple Rose is now about 17 months old and has had all her follow ups, spaying and yearly done with them and I can honestly say, I have never had such a good experience with not only the staff, who are all amazing by the way, but with Dr. Figueroa! Dr. Fig is not just in it to make money, he genuinely loves his career and the animals, you can just tell by the loving way he talks to your baby. He treats the owners with kindness too, no matter how many crazy questions I ask, he always makes me feel listened to and valued and he takes all the time in the world to go over everything with you. My dog with seizure has been going here for 3 years. After they changed ownership his visits went from 130 to 700 for just blood work and a bunch of fancy nonsense added to make it seem normal. The main doctor is awful and I genuinely hope this place go out of business soon. Charging my dog 700 for his blood level and basically removal of "hazardous waste" when I can get that done for 120 elsewhere. Won't give my dog medication either without bloodwork and even the staff felt bad and recommended me elsewhere because they couldn't explain the price. She said today the visit is 80 the next time it could be 200 the person in charge makes up his own prices. And fuck u for saying u can't give my dog phenobarbital because you are allergic to it. read more

Today I took my dachshund to see Dr Gomez, it is incredible the care and interest in him she demonstrated and the knowledge she has. She loves what she does and it comes natural to her. I really wish there were more healthcare providers like her in this field. Her tech, assistant Jose is very knowledgeable and caring with the dogs. Very thorough in his assessment and with great attention to detail. I really like this place. Both Doctors are great. Very detail and experienced. They dont push for pricy things and are always there for you when u need them. The place is a little outdated, n smells like dog, duhh. They need to remodel their clinic, but is clean n that won't stop from bringing my puppy. Took my doggie for a check up, the main reason was that he obviously had something in his eye(he wouldn't open his right eye and had lots of discharge from it) well after a $200+ bill the vet said 1st. He has a heart murmur that on a level 1-6 , his is a 4 and recommended some xrays and other stuff and gave me a quote of $400 and then a out the eye on she said he must hurt it but that it healed on it's own! That he was fine! That's it, not medication for it, no drops, anything! So I left. Trusting his eye will be better, short story had to rush him to the ER because my 11lbs shih tzu started shaking really bad OUT OF PAIN!!! He was in pain due to a eye ulcer, a really painful one!! I can't believe that all she cared (the vet) was about me getting all these different stuffs (xrays, flea prevention pill, some allergic pills, etc) like she was trying to treat and skin allergic ( my doggie was scratching a lot) with 3 different treatments, but nothing for his eye that was obviously not good!!! read more

I visited this vet earlier this week. they are pretty quick to attend your dog and extremely friendly both over the phone and in person. The doctor was really careful with my dog, even though he was nervous at first. at the end of the visit my dog left wagging his tail and made friends with the doctor. I'm frankly surprised to see the low ratings. I didn't find this place on Yelp--we were referred by our neighbor, whom we adopted two kittens from (they had already taken them here a couple of times). We've taken them twice now, once for their third set of shots and then today for a spay and neuter. So far, we've been very pleased. The staff have all been friendly and courteous. Dr. Huntsman was very sweet to our babies. Their surgeries went well, they came home fine and are recovering fine so far. No complaints so far! read more

Was disappointed at the fact that the practice was sold. When I called to make the urgent appointment they said a different doctor would be able to see your pet today. Never clarifying the old doctors were no longer practicing. Prices have definitely gone up. Doctor that took care of my pet appeared confused by symptoms. Gave 5 different diagnoses and wanted to treat all 5. WHAT !? Shouldn't the most obvious be treated first? Why make clients pay for unnecessary tests? And the oral antibiotics were overly priced. They sell for .20 cents online and were charging me over $ 1.50 each. Some of the old staff remains. Uncertain about returning there. Sad..... read more

We wouldn't take our family pets anywhere else. All of our cats have been spayed/neutered here. Their indications healed quickly and they were running around as soon as we brought them home. One of our cats burned her belly and they tended to her right away (we walked in 5 minutes before they closed and they were so attentive - we were so appreciative). This place used to be great. So great that I would drive an hour to see Dr Alonso with my dogs. I was a loyal client for over ten years. They were bought by some corporation and now they treat people like they don't matter. They don't tell you that you'll end up with some veterinarian that doesn't know the dog or you. They have lost the personal touch and feel they used to have. Not to mention the prices went way up and they have no shame in over charging compared to the majority of the vets in the area. Just avoid this place. It has turned into just another money making factory for the owners and they don't care about customer service. read more

The manager, Maggie, helped us figure out the expenses and really made us feel confident that our high-energy cat would be in great hands! Dont take your pet their if they are seriously ill. My cat was not eating when i took him in the first vet told me he was constipated. Easy fix! He then told me to bring him back for an enema the next day... I come back the next day and another vet says my cat now has feline aids.... Seriously? W.e i left him overnight for xrays and treatment. I come back the next day to find my cat in a pool of his on poo and pee.... Barely breathing... This place is disgusting... They put the vet techs with no education to do all the shots/procedures when you leave them over night. Take your let here only to get its nail cut... Even then be careful..... read more

Dr Alfonso is trustworthy, very compassionate with his furry patients, and precise on diagnosis and treatment. I've taken 3 different cats during the course of this year for completely different issues (outdoors cats), and he has been the most accurate and to the point veterinarian I've ever met! I researched a lot for a good veterinarian before taking my first cat this year, when I thought she had broken her leg after weeks of no walking. I feared she needed surgery. Almost right away he knew what it was and what she needed and saved her paw, and saved me a heartache, and hundred$; While other vets were asking for X-rays, right from the phone call. Sorry for the long status but this is my review on Eureka Animal Clinic lets start with their service sucks ass and how they close at 7 pm and i got there at 6:40 okay........ they gave my mom a hassle due to the time frame she came in with the dog and what not but let me say if your sign says 7:00 PM you close at that time. So I'm rushing to the veterinarians office all the way from the beach to eureka to ask the vet what is my dog being diagnosed with since their lovely receptionist (i mean this the the most sarcastic way) couldn't pick up the phone nor confirm my appointment via "email" i input hours before and that it was an emergency. When i told her about the appointment i input online she tells me "well we just got the email and are getting use to it so we can't work it well" ummmmmmmm you are a receptionist you should be able to function in the office and should be computer savvy if not sorry for my dam french but why in the fuck do you work there if you can't read and reply to an email ?! and not to mention she said its an appointment only veterinarian so i asked why do you have an email if you can't function it to receive appointments so i proceed on into the vets office where kenai is at and as a concerted dog mom the first thing i ask is what is my dog being diagnosed with ? the dude which i see now on my invoice his name is Dr.Jose Alonso tells me he doesn't want any problems and so forth so i told him to tell me what is it that my dog has and he tells me he already explained to my mom but ummm hello I'm the dog owner here you are the professional i understand you are mad your cut out time didn't go through but my dog is a patient and i am the dog owner so i expect you to tell me what is going on. so then he rambles on mumbling that he is going to treat my dog for vomit and diarrhea and i asked if he did a fecal and did he didn't respond either. so i go on and ask my mom whats happening and she's kinda clueless and i see the vet has no lie about 6 packs of different medications on his desk i ask what is all that for and he ignores me and starts telling my mom how to give him the meds so i again asked him and he said i the most unprofessional way that I'm lucky he took in my dog because he was ready to go and that panacur he was administering was for hookworms and who knows what else he gave kenai two shots not explaining to me what the hell he was injecting him with then says that if he isn't better in the morning to take him to the animal hospital so i then snapped and said wtf is the whole point of us bringing the dog there if he doesn't know wtf my dog has like how unprofessional is that so dismissed myself to go pay his dumb ass receptionist so i could've sworn the girl said 140 was my total but when i got home i saw the invoice is charged for 240 dollars which is making me livid at this point. this was the first time i went to this vet and the last time ill ever go he is a scam and such a disrespectful piece of shit so please beware before you step foot into this vets office read more

Sadly after so many years with Dr. Alonso, the one time we needed him to truly care for our dog we got a "it's 5 minutes to closing" and "hopefully you are not going to end up in the emergency vet." The Doctor is retiring and is completely checked out; a vet that cares about animals would not be so heartless as he watched my dog barely walking right, panting, 103.5 fever; swollen face and drooping on one side and the vet had the nerve to tell me that he was leaving in 5 minutes and couldn't run blood work because he was off on Thursday. he gave him an allergy shot and only at my request send him antibiotics for his fever. Barely touched my dog and didn't even pay attention that the assistant took his temp and stated it was at 103. Obviously Doctor Alonso won't care about this review but others should know how we were treated with an appointment scheduled for 4:45pm by his front desk. It's not like we were treating them like an emergency vet and we have been going there for 10 years for our rabies shots! Totally disappointed. read more
