We have had the same maids for a few years now and was feeling that perhaps they were getting a little lazy and we wanted to try a different service to see what's up. The wifey met the three maids, a dude and two dudettes, and didn't get the friendly hello, but they did start on the job at hand. It's always difficult to have strangers in the house, so a friendly hello and perhaps introduction to who they were would of gone a long way. Especially since this was a first time out, it would of been nice if they would of taken a tour of the house and ask what area's needed specific attention, etc. You know, kinda of a "Hey thanks for giving us an opportunity, how can we impress you with our service" thing. Get to know ya before you get mounted...so to speak. The result of the cleaning was ok. And what I mean by that is it wasn't better than what we had been experiencing with our regular crew. The house had been cleaned every two weeks, so it was far from a huge mess, especially since Suzi always needs to clean up a little before the maids arrive. Something which I will never understand. We don't have any animals which includes kids, so it should of been a fairly straight forward job. Our house is approx 1800 Sq Ft for reference purposes. What was curious was the price. On our current arrangement we pay $80 every other week for two folks to come out, no contract, no fuss. With Austin All Maids, it's done by the hour and with three folks the cleaning came to $125. So for $45 more, we got pretty much the same result. We weren't provided an estimate, which would of been nice, but had the result been significantly different, it may have justified the cost. We don't feel like we were taken for a ride or anything, but the cost didn't justify the means. Perhaps if they would of first sent out an individual to do a review of the house and then quote us a price, we could of saved them the time and us $45, since I doubt we would of hired them knowing that going in. read more

We moved out of the rental and into a house, and I was anticipating the cleaning magic these guys would do for us. The moveout clean they did at our house was redonk. The landlord was super happy with how crazy clean the place was and thanked us several times for having it cleaned so well on our moveout. He even talked to us about our deposit...!!!!! No stone was left unturned...fridge, oven, exhaust, windows, doors, floors...you name it, they hit it. It was so clean I made a little peepee in my pants. Thank you so much for squeezing us into your crazy schedule and making the moveout clean work so that we could be out of the rental by that Saturday instead of Monday!!!!!!! So I have a little secret to tell you... I dislike cleaning. If I had a choice of cleaning a toilet or visiting my in-laws, I pick visiting my in-laws. :) Sure I can pick things up and make it look presentable but it's the deep cleaning I despise. I was lucky enough to win a contest from Austin All Maids for a full house cleaning. I was ESTATIC and literally had a smile on my face for days after I won that contest. I set up a time for them to come right before family came to visit for the holidays. The 3 ladies showed up on time, smiles on their faces and equipped with all of the cleaning utensils. Sure we had a little bit of a language issue, but the work got done. I spent some time outside tending to our yard while they were working inside. (SEE! I am even willing to rake leaves and trim bushes instead of cleaning!). I did walk by one room while they were in there working and I was so embarrassed by the amount of dust and dog hair that they had already swept up. These ladies meant business. Once they were done I was amazed at how clean my house was. They removed things from book case to clean, cleaned under rugs, got all of the cobwebs in the corners of the ceilings, and made my oven look like new. My husband's jaw dropped when he walked in from work, he was floored at how good our house looked and then said, "Holy Shit, we do a horrible job at cleaning the house, look at how clean it is!" I was very impressed with the entire experience and look forward to having them clean my house again! read more

Upon the recommendation of a friend/Yelper (and an online quote), I called Austin All Maids to do the move out clean of my apartment, the day after the movers took all the big furniture. After too many REALLY late nights packing and trying to move stuff to my new condo, there was no way I'd be up for thoroughly cleaning my apartment in hopes of getting any of my deposit back. I forgot how much moving sucked. It sucked the life out of me, too. I received a heads up phone call that they were on their way and, after a bit of confusion about the location of my apartment in the complex, the three ladies got to work. I felt sort of bad for them, actually, the apartment was pretty disastrous and I'd just gotten the last couple boxes out as they arrived. They left no surface untouched, even delving into my little laundry closet that I'd decided to abandon and take the hit on my deposit. As estimated, a little more than an hour and a half later, they were done. When I did my final walkthrough before turning in my keys, I nearly walked into the sliding glass patio door because it was so clean. It would've been damn funny, had I not been so exhausted. Today, I got a decent chunk of my deposit back. Not all of it (I blame the big, orange cat), but certainly more than I'd expected. I'll definitely be giving them another call for regular service once I get unpacked! read more

Open letter to the public: By the time you realize that you have time off work to go on a short vacation and relax, housework rears its ugly head and all those rugs you've been sweeping dirt underneath are getting lumpy. It doesn't help when you've been sick and it's going to be Christmas. AUUUUGH!! Not fair. Here is the good part. You have a little extra money in your pocket because you've been working a lot lately. Treat yourself to a regular cleaning. Learn to budget this service into your regular expenses, it's totally worth it. Austin All Maids did me right. First the customer service: I asked for my first time cleaning and gave a rundown of all my rooms, and the special things I needed to be cleaned. They listened with an open mind and gave me an estimate which they were able to undercut. The cleaning: I was there to greet the ladies when they came in, and they already had their tools of the trade in hand. They asked which special things they should do this time including baseboards and cleaning the refrigerator. I let my lady ask for what she wanted because that gave her some control and that is what she likes. I went about my morning off to monitor them while they swept cleaned and scrubbed; mostly I stayed out of their way. They were skilled and thorough. They asked if I would give an inspection and I was so impressed by the way everything was notably cleaner I didn't need to get the white glove out and be extremely picky. They did a fine job. Follow-up: About a day later I got a message on my phone from the owner who wanted to know my experience. I was a bit too busy trying to get things together before I left town, but I hope she reads this. They did a great job Julia! Thank you and I am happy to say that we will be going on a regular schedule bi-monthly. After the fact: Relief is the best way I can describe my experience. My stress level went down and that was worth the first timer fee of close to $200; not high for the deep clean that my house got. I do look forward to a smaller bill on a more regular basis, but the money is nothing compared to the lowered stress level I will have knowing that my house is clean when I get home. Let's be honest, moving is a major pain in the ass. Austin All Maids made my life so much easier on our most recent move. First of all: moving sucks. Add in moving during the holidays (and throw in chasing a toddler), and there's lots of stress to go around. While all of our earthly possessions were on a moving truck, Austin All Maids came in behind us and cleaned our house on our behalf, prepared our home for the next tenants (something that would have taken me a week to do myself while entertaining and chasing a one year old). While I didn't get to see the fruits of their labor (see also: following the moving truck) our tenant was able to verify that Austin All Maids made our house move-in ready, spiffy and clean. First time customer to Austin All Maids, and now I will be a regular! They did a phenomenal job with estimations, scheduling, and of course, the cleaning. I submitted a price request and immediately received a response in my email. Two days later, the owners followed up by email. Once I got the chance to call them back, scheduling was easy, breezy on the phone! For a move out clean like the one I had, you needed a biohazard suit! The tenants were D-I-R-T-Y, yes, DIRTY. They had a goat, hens, and probably the whole San Diego zoo in there. I don't even know what that stuff was in the oven and the dead smell from the refrigerator. The three staffers came on time, did a bang up job for two hours and when my house needed an extra hour, Julia called for my authorization! You mean, you'll ask me before you spend my money!? WOW! The cleaning itself is top notch, but the service on the administrative end is a strain to say the least. We hired Austin All Maids at the beginning of June for what we thought was the first of recurring monthly cleanings. As with most companies, it was our understanding that the first deep clean would be a set price and then the regular monthly cleanings would be less. That's normal. That's not, however, the case with this company... odd. The cleaning team arrived on time and cleaned furiously for the time promised. They did a wonderful job, were extremely thorough, and even smiled at my dog, which was a nice touch considering he was really just trying to help. :) They did an amazing job and I was so pleased because I thought I'd found a company that could clean the house regularly and all of life's problems would be solved because clearly a clean house can do such things. They left, the world was grand, and about 3 weeks later we tried to schedule what we thought was our second in what would be regular cleanings. Not only did my husband have to reach out to them multiple times, but they would never respond the way he reached out. For example, he asked what the price would be if we had more frequent cleanings (bi-weekly or weekly - we really loved their work) in an email, and they responded by phone regarding scheduling. Weird. So then I took on the task today because I'm tired of a dirty house and what happens? We FINALLY get an answer (my tone in my email may have been kurt in an attempt to get some attention) but we found out that there is NO discount or price break for more frequent cleanings. So I thank the person for responding with the quotes and I ask if there is any type of price break at all, as $400 a month minimum seems like quite a lot for weekly basic upkeep type cleaning. Basically they offer less time spent for each cleaning in 15-minute increments, but no actual price break. Bad business... So regardless if we were having them clean monthly or weekly, it would always be $141 for 90 minutes, $117 for 75 minutes, $98 for an hour. That's just crazy talk. In what business model does it not make sense to offer better pricing and abbreviated cleaning services for more frequent patronage? I think the thing that prompted me to actually write this review, though, (I don't write all that many) was the response I received after my inquiry regarding price breaks. It came from a different person than the one I'd been interacting with up to that point and was VERY short, with no introduction, and almost to the point of just plain rude. It's really a shame, because the cleaning we received was TOP notch. Too bad the business is run so poorly. Better than Molly Maid and many others. After trying out 3 different companies, I have been very happy with Austin All Maids. They do a great job every time. Hands down. I have two dogs that shed a lot, and there is no evidence of them after the maids leave. Their business model is great - I love that you can call and schedule a cleaning whenever (and they always answer the phone right away!!). I had hired Austin All Maids to clean my house and they did a spectacular job. The people they hire are very friendly and I felt comfortable around them unlike some other companies that hire shady looking people. My only complaint is that I wish they would give me some type of discount if I use them on a regular basis. I get charged around $340 each time but our house is around 4000 square feet. I guess that's one of the disadvantages on having a bigger house but I can't complain too much. Overall, I would definitely use them again especially since my sister is visiting me soon from North Carolina and I'm sure she's going to leave a mess for me. :) read more

I am giving this company 2 stars because that is an average over the past several months. We used them for the downstairs (only 2 bedrooms/2 baths - closed off 2 bedrooms to cut down on cost and unused rooms) of our 2600 sf home for a total cleaning area of 1800 sf. Reasons: 1). Decent job - it is difficult to find a good cleaning company. I told them I understand how difficult it must be to find employees at $8 an hour these days that you can trust. 2). Follow up - We had several times when they just had to send their crews back because of areas just not even touched - spider webs in corners, baseboards not touched, toilets not cleaned, comet not used on shower areas, dusting not completed, rooms not vacuumed, mirrors not cleaned, spider webs and dust on blinds, etc. They came back and fixed it every time which is why I continued working with them. 3) I had them clean the upstairs room which is a media room with an extra bathroom and they charged me double for an additional 400 sf. I thought that was a little much, but I needed the help so I agreed. 4) I did not feel they cleaned the floors which was my main concern as we have tile and hardwoods in the main living areas. They never seemed really cleaned and I believe they only swept then mopped which is why the dust always accumulated the day afterwards. I felt the price was fair for $100 for the square footage and that our house was very clean except for some dusting and mopping and it is just my husband, myself and 14 year old son - no small children or messes. 3 people for 1 hour seemed more than adequate. I just received an e-mail stating we were being let go because they just could not do the job in the hour they had quoted. I understand a business has to do what they have to do, but the key was not left at the last cleaning. Now, we will have to re-key all our doors. I asked Julia if they could please return our key and she said they believe they left it and to check under all the pots. It had been 4 days since they left and our home under security risk now not knowing what happened to our key. I suggest if you go with this company to make sure you follow up with every visit and to make sure they are doing what you had asked. Also, we will be changing our front door to a keyless entry. A good suggestion for those of you that work, will not be home during their visit and decide to leave a key to a company - especially this one. We are also considering a hidden camera to watch in the future. I would not just give a key to this company for them to do what they wish. read more

These ladies are the Seal Team 6 of cleaning people. Had them in to my 960sf apartment only needing them to clean the floors and they cleaned EVERYTHING very very well and in under an hour. It was like a cleaning orchestra. I almost had some lady clean my floors for $30 so I was thinking the whole time whether I should've taken her up on that offer instead of the All Maids. I thought, "I hope the All Maids blow me away with how good they are for the additional cost". Turns out they did exactly that. I'm very happy and with them and will use them in the future. If you are the 'clean one' in a relationship, I highly recommend splitting this with your loved one. Its a lot better than straining your relationship on the topic of cleaning and causing resentment. Don't waste your time with these people. Had a scheduled move out clean. Asked them to show up as late as possible since we still might be moving stuff out. They showed up several hours early. Then I spoke to them about possibly coming back later and they said maybe, they would call back about it. Never called back. I called again to see if I could have them come the next day which they could at X o'clock and they would call back to confirm. I never got the call back or any notification and ended up ha omg to do the clean myself and I was STILL charged a fee. Horrible customer service. I've read alot of good reviews about this company and i was waitin for it's professional cleaning ! When i sent an estimate price email, they estimated my apartment 87$ t0 130$ but when i called them they told me it's around 150$ so i asked them if my apartment would take a little longer ( although i know it doesn take long time) what the max price would be ? he said 188$ max . First of all they arrived late coz the last took them longer time to clean but that wasn a big deal with me as they apologized about it . While i was waitin out our area the company called n said they'll take longer time. I was surpriused but said it's a good company n they know what they're doin but he added that the cleaning will cost 211$ ( 969ft apartment) !! And they said that they'll not withdraw money n call me back the next day to make sure everything is perfect .when we first came in the apartment it was really fresh and the cleaning was really good but when i looked at an important kitchen corners were not cleaned and they didn clean the dust from the blinds n it was important coz my husband is allergic , although they wrote in the website that blinds r included ! It sounds like most reviewers think this company does a pretty good job cleaning houses. It's a shame I'll never find out. I got an online quote, then called to try to schedule an appointment. First, the quote I got on the phone was over $100 more than the online quote, but they agreed to "do it based on the online quote and then let you know if we think it'll take more time, and you can decide whether to have us finish based on what's left." Sounds shady, but ok, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and try to set up an appointment. I wouldn't think it would be difficult for an appointment-oriented service business to tell you what time they intend to show up at your house. But apparently it is. I was told I could "request" a morning appointment for the day I wanted, but there were no guarantees. I would be notified at noon the previous day of the scheduled appointment time. I said, "OK, well, if you can't do the morning then I'll just switch to another day." Elvira then proceeded to take my credit card number. And THEN told me that there is a $37 cancellation fee unless I schedule a backup date. A backup date on which they ALSO can't guarantee me a morning appointment. So I, the customer, need to guarantee the service provider that the time THEY choose to show up at my house will be convenient for me, or I have to pay them a fee. Cue Jerry Seinfeld launching into a speech about not understanding the definition of the word "appointment." When your cable goes out and you need it fixed, you have no choice but to deal with the dreaded "four-hour window" because you only have one provider. When it comes to paying several hundred dollars for someone to clean your house, there are too many options to be held hostage by such a customer-unfriendly appointment policy. And no, I won't just "leave the key somewhere" so your employees can let themselves into my house, thank you very much. read more

The owners are difficult to work with and unprofessional. Julia (owner) sighed continually throughout our phone conversation, and became frustrated whenever I questioned her assistants explanation of charges. I was charged $182 for an 1 1/2 of cleaning of an almost move out ready home. Mario (assistant) said the price and time would remain the same for the next cleaning,which is odd. Service is ok, there were some areas that were overlooked, but before I could address that issue Julia became frustrated and asked me to use another maid service. I have never used a cleaning service before because I thought it was a waste of money. That is until I used Austin All Maids for only 2.5 hours to clean our house as a gift for my pregnant wife. They were able to clean pretty much the entire house, from the kitchen, laundry room, living room, 2 bathrooms and parts of 4 bedrooms...oh and cleaning out my fully loaded refrigerator. Best house cleaning I've ever experienced. The husband and I had a good "once over" prior to a dinner party and I've never seen my fixtures shine so beautifully! They dusted fans, wiped baseboards, even moved furniture to get any dust bunnies that existed! I was actuallt feeling bad about how messy unorganized my closet was, and did a quick pick up prior to their arrival hoping they wouldnt even go in.. I got home and they had paired and hung shoes, hung up clothes, and mopped the floors. PERFECTION!!! I am extremely impressed, and have been telling my friends ever since about our experience. Sigh... reading all these fabulous reviews makes me wonder why I didn't have the same experience as everyone else. I had my house cleaned by Austin All Maids just before the holidays last year and I was less than impressed. Not only did I not get cute folded triangles of toilet paper like another reviewer but I didn't even get a decent thorough cleaning. I'll start with the good: Getting a quote was a breeze, scheduling was pleasant although they did not have very many options for appointment times which I guess is a good sign :) They also showed up right on time. Now onto the bad... :( Communication was difficult since no one spoke much English but that's not a big deal. Cleaning seemed incredibly rushed and items were not moved for dusting (nor were the items themselves dusted). For example, decorational items were very obviously left in place and dusted around since I could see a circle of dust around each item and a layer of dust on the item itself. All rugs including a very dirty door mat covered in pet hair and shoe wipings was thrown on my brand new velvet chaise to allow for floor cleaning! Ugh, my heart sank as I thought of all the allergens and dust mites that were just littered all over an upholstered piece of furniture. After they made my bed with the freshly laundered bedding I had left for them, one of the ladies proceeded to knock down months of built up dust from my ceiling fan to right ON TOP of my freshly made bed, before picking it up with her hands. Again, major fail. Common sense would say, don't throw allergens where people sleep. Some kitchen cabinets were wiped down, others were not. The backs of some doors were wiped down, others were not. Lots of spots were missed just about everywhere I looked. They had cell phones continuously going off and I must admit I was slightly peeved to hear them taking calls for longer than I felt was necessary when I was paying by the hour. While I appreciate the harsh chemicals used in the bathroom, I would not recommend for sensitive people. Either the chemicals were not properly washed away or they are really just that strong because my eyes burned for about a week every time that I showered and the steam would travel to my eyes. Lastly, my wood floors were left with a weird dirty water looking haze so I had re-clean them as soon as the crew left. *On the plus side, my kitchen sink was left very shiny as was my stove top. The final straw was when my husband informed me that the final charge on our card was higher than the quote and they were quite expensive to begin with! I would have had them back for the 24 hour guarantee but since I didn't have much choice when booking my cleaning, it fell on the day before we had flights out to NY/NJ for the holidays. What was supposed to be a holiday treat of just ended up being an expensive regret. I did notice upon my return that someone did call from All Maids probably to follow up (only because I have caller ID) but they did not leave a message nor did they ever try back again. Perhaps because they were busy during the holiday season? In the end, we couldn't justify spending as much as they charge to have to go back after and re-clean things all over again. read more

Awesome job, place is shiny, and smells good too. I've hired them to come on a regular basis now. Absolutely love coming home and everything is sparkling and tidy. I called them again. When I spoke I got a quote and then attempted to schedule. They said they would tell me the day, but they could not tell me a time until 12 the day before! really? Hi Folks, I don't do usually reviews but, here are the facts: - Austin All Maids booked for a move out cleaning quote was approx 2-2.5 hrs ($220) - We have stained concrete floors 85% of the house which requires a moderately gentle cleanser for mopping. - Three nice maids come to the home without speaking a word of English (just blank stares) but, it's OK they seems efficient however, relaying any details on what needs to be done is difficult so there is an immediate communication disconnect. - We call Julia to relay the concern about using the right cleanser and about the communication glitch. I'm a straight shooter as this is strictly business and after all it's my home that I'm entrusting All Maids to clean properly. However, I'm greeted with an annoyed Julia ensuring me that they have the necessary experience and will take care of it of course with a bit of "attitude". I said, "Well see how it goes" . - Left the home for about an hour so the maids could do their thing. - I receive a voice mail message about 45 minutes later from Julia stating that they decided not to complete the work and pulled the maids ...bye bye. - So I return a 1/2 hr after receiving the voice mail and there is my garage door wide open and the door leading into my home unlocked. Note: We have a problematic garage door sensor that if not closed using the remote control spontaneous re-opening happens, my intention was to return upon completion of the job. Bad call All Maids!! First you assured me you could do the job and clean the stained concrete floors without an issue but you couldn't rise to the occasion and instead bailed on the job. Second, you need to inform the customer that the maids may not speak English and any additional details for the maids need to be relayed through you or have one of the maids speak and comprehend English, it's that simple. Julia, Epic failure here, this is not about the maids being uncomfortable as you wrote below it's about you. Sometimes you will receive some customer feedback on valid concerns, after all it's a customer's home that you're cleaning, mine was primarily the questionable methods on mopping the stained concrete..no big deal just rise to the customer's standards, instill comfort for the customer without the attitude/drama and be professional!! This should not reflect on the actual maids as they were just following instructions but, I never received a return call about the garage door left opened. Hey, I want $37 credited to my CC for quitting on the job like you charge the customer for canceling a booking! Skip these amateurs they are a thin skinned small time operation that needs better communication skills. read more

I have been using Austin All Maids for about 5 years and I am continuously impressed with their work. They are so thorough, reasonably priced, friendly, and professional. I literally breathe a sigh of relief every time they clean my home. I usually steer clear of the house (I think it probably makes their job a little easier if my 60 pound dog and screaming toddlers aren't in their way :)) but today I came home early and got a sneak peak of them in action. One of the cleaners was standing on a stool cleaning IN BETWEEN books on my bookshelf! The rest of them were cleaning corners of my house I didn't know existed (well, I knew, but I ignore them when I clean). I have a 2 bedroom, 2 bath house... um, not that big. I called All Maids because they had pretty good reviews and talked to Jake on the phone. He was very nice. I scheduled a time for them to come for an initial appointment, and I got to say it was disappointing. Jake quoted me at $180 MAX.. They charge about $90/hour which is A LOT, but it is for 3 maids at one time. I figured 3 people can clean this house in 2 hours no problem. I even pre-cleaned... I moved our stuff out of the way, and did the laundry, made the beds, and did the dishes. I figured this would help the maids focus on actually cleaning instead of having to pick up. Well, I get a call from Jake at about 2 hours after they arrived and he says that the maids needed more time... I'm like, "How much more time?" He says 30 to 45 mins max. I ended up getting charged about $280, and when I got home it appeared that they did a pretty good job, but as I looked more thoroughly I saw there were many things they missed... They didn't clean the floors near the appliances. They didn't dust the cobwebs from the walls. My bedspread looked SUPER DUSTY like they walked all over it. The carpet was only vacuumed in large parts of the room, but the carpet next to the walls was overlooked. My point is for 3 maids and almost $300 for a 2 bedroom 2 bath that was in pretty good shape? This should have been done better. WAY overpriced. D- read more
