I recently had a scheduled quarterly inspection from another company on a Friday. I won't go into details except to say the aerobic system was not functioning correctly and there was a risk of waste coming back into my house. That is a scary situation. :-O The company told me they couldn't do anything until the following Monday, and because of several personal issues checking into a hotel for the weekend was not an option. After calling over a dozen companies well zero success and no options for any type of resolution, Orlando called me back right at COB. I explained the situation and my concerns to him (e.g., definitely the need to at least flush a toilet over the weekend). Orlando was very attentive to my needs and went absolutely above and beyond what any small business owner would normally be willing to do. He voluntarily came to my property and did a small "fix" to at least get me through the weekend until the system could be repaired. And he did it out of the kindness of his heart (no charge). Turns out we're actually almost neighbors. Sooooooo, on a Friday after business hours, after working a long full week, Orlando literally saved me both from possible hazardous waste flooding my house and the unnecessary additional anxiety that frankly I can't currently handle. Honestly the work is good...as it should be from a master plumber…read more The issue I have is the issue I've had with literally every plumber ever. They've got you over a barrel when they come out and start throwing parts. This was an install of a drop in kitchen sink and faucet. He told me his hourly rate was 135 bucks. I was expecting to spend about 400 maybe 500. The final bill was 850. I feel I was overcharged on both the parts and labor. He charged me starting 45 min before he got there but still included a "truck charge." The removal and replace of the sink took 2 hours. To me the "clock" starts on the labor at the agreed upon arrival time. When I'm getting charged 439(!) bucks for parts on top of the sink and faucet itself, that extra charge for labor is quite unwelcome. I mean the sink and faucet itself that were "nice" were like 500 bucks. So almost that again just in parts. ‍ His answer in general as I look at these reviews is that he buys his parts from a plumber supply not Home Depot etc. I would have to research each individual part to see if its price point is "fair". A perusal of solid brass fittings and pvc p traps on the Lowe's site shows the price I paid was about doubled. He acted quite insulted that I wouldn't know just how much better his parts were and implied they were all but unavailable at big box stores. literally doubling what I expected to pay was quite a shock to say the least.
