Scott George is very knowledgeable about tree maintenance and health. He answered all the questions I had about keeping our aging cedar elms happy. He has been very easy to reach both before our job and after our job. His crew worked quickly to remove ball moss, mistletoe and dead branches. They also skillfully cleaned up some breaks and expertly lightened some sagging limbs. They left our yard, roof and patio very clean. Scott and crew just finished a quick touch up of our trees including removing one box elm, etc. As per many others: Scott is incredibly knowledgeable about tree trimming and general tree health, so he wants to do what's best for your trees. The upshot is that he's not going to trim your trees just for the money like some other companies. I'm always impressed by any business who will talk you out of more work when it's not necessary, and that's how Scott works. It was a little tricky getting scheduled, but blame it on their great business model=success. He's definitely friendly and upfront. Their prices were reasonable. Scott has been taking care of our trees for the last 12 years. Recently, he sent us an email, because he noticed while riding his bike in the neighborhood that a big ash tree in our front yard that he has been nursing along for years, didn't look good. He came and gave us an assessment of the tree and went over all the trees in our yard where he found two hackberry trees at the back of the yard that were really sick and were dangerously close to falling. So dangerous that he didn't feel it was safe for his crew to climb the tree. Scott recommended another company that had a lift so they could safely remove the tree. Scott said that he wouldn't take any $$ for the assessment, cuz we were long time customers and he called us, not the other way around. I would highly recommend Scott for any of your tree needs. We ran into some unexpected delays with the city permitting process, but Scott worked directly with them and was able to get our project pushed through as fast as possible. I have been remiss in not writing this review. Scott came out to give an esimate during Spring of last year (2012). During the process of providing the quote, he took care of a small branch that was making an infernal racket on a sky light and spent plenty of time discussing our tree health. When pruning/branch thinning time came during the summer, Scott was back with a highly efficient crew and performed the work as promised and for the quoted price. I honestly didnt care much for my trees except that they not fall on my car, but scotts passion and knowledge gave me a newfound appreciation for my leafy housemates. Scott and his crew were great. They completed a big job saving a nice mesquite in our front yard, and they trimmed pretty much every other tree in our yard (at least a dozen trees) in about 2 hours. Scott knows his stuff, no one stepped in my wife's flower beds (a big no-no to step in those) and he had a half dozen workers on the job and working hard the entire time. Austin Beautiful Trees is what 5 star ratings are made for. I've become a bit of a cynic when it comes to service providers of most kinds unfortunately but this experience has restored my faith. From meeting with Scott for initial consultation until the moment the crew drove away it was first rate. Scott is not only very knowledgeable but is generous with his advice to help you get the healthiest and best-looking trees you can with the budget you have available. His crew was exceptional. They have a great rapport and started the job with Scott, the foreman and entire crew huddled together to make sure they knew exactly the job to be done. I appreciated this so much as they didn't just start cutting until they'd done a walk through with me and had their meeting. They seem to be a great group of experienced professionals who worked together like a well-oiled machine. They were respectful of the property and cleaned up incredibly well and definitely left the grounds better than they found them. As for the trees themselves - the difference is night and day. After a large branch dropped from our large 50 year old Arizona Ash tree, I called Scott George right away. He had been strongly recommended by a close a friend and he absolutely lived up to his reputation. Hearing the emotion in my voice, he scheduled to come evaluate my tree the next morning (despite later saying he had a funeral to attend the following day!). When Scott arrived he listened to me, and then walked me through an evaluation of the tree. Not only did he provide an exceptional, knowledgeable assessment, he taught me how to spot and evaluate the health of my own trees better in the future. Despite coming to the conclusion that my beloved mature tree was at the end of its useful life, Scott gave me lots of options to chew on, and recommended three other arborists in town who could assist me with removal (so as not to bias his own consultation). He also evaluated all the other trees on the property for free, and helped provide us with great ideas for future plantings. We had Scott out to look at some minor tree work. From the beginning, he was professional and incredibly friendly. He spent time carefully walking our property identifying every tree and discussing proper pruning and maintenance. He looked at our job and then honestly told us that our job wouldn't justify his minimum charge. He said he would feel bad charging us the minimum and referred us to another arborist who handles smaller jobs. So refreshing to see that type of honesty.
