Used them and was very satisfied for several years (pre-pandemic). They have since jacked the prices, send passive-aggressive emails to remind you to give a 50% down payment or else, and recently sent an email that sitting needs to be arranged 2 weeks in advance. Okay, I get it. I do! They need to make up pandemic loss of income and want to ensure people don't waste their time with last minute reservations and cancellations. Shrewd business decisions on their end, annoying on the client-side. However: I recently needed sitting for a holiday and there was a 40% extra charge on top of the 30% they've already increased. Got it. Supply and demand. Still, not stoked. What really dropped my star rating was this, and I guess it could have been the sitters - but the last trip I had a couple of them who apparently fed, scooped, and then (as they described) sat on the couch and made notes. My cats thrive on interaction and play, are super friendly with everyone (i.e. wouldn't be hiding or anything) and they obviously had the bare minimum interaction with them. A pretty high cost for someone to come sit on your couch. I'd pay it if I had the sense that the sitters really read the profile notes and were really engaged with the pets as they were in the past. I was very pleased with this service before, feeling like I got my money's worth, but I'm going to seek out other options. There are other sitters you can look into. read more

I love this company and the great service they provide! I recently started looking for a cat sitter because I was starting to feel like I was burdening friends and family about checking in on our 2 cats when we would need to leave town. Now, I'd rather pay Austin Cat Sitters to look after our cats instead of asking someone I know to do it for free - Austin Cat Sitters truly love taking care of our pets! The online portal is super easy to use, requesting a service is straightforward, the team is always super responsive. Best of all for me, they take pictures of your pets during their visit, and give little silly awards that I think are the sweetest. My shy kitty always gets a funny award like "top neighborhood watcher" or "clean plate club member". Seeing their interactions while we're out of town really sets me at ease. The only suggestion I have for possible improvement is about the invoicing process. Their system doesn't send you an invoice after the services, so if you don't remember to log in to the portal and pay it right away, you look like a jerk who can't pay a bill on time. Hopefully their system will add the feature of sending a reminder payment email soon! read more

So grateful to have found this crew! Moved to Austin a few months ago and had yet to need a sitter for my sweet baby angel child. She needs a special inhaler administered twice a day, so needed to find someone familiar/comfortable giving that to her. I'm also a complete spaz and worry about her whenever I'm gone, so having a reliable sitter is super important to me. ACS provided thorough and timely updates. Got an email before anyone went to my house, received emails during the visit (if it warranted updates), extensive emails with lots of photos after the sitter had left. Each time someone checked the food and water, the litter, hiding spots, and sent an update with photos of my cat. My cat was also being a total turd and hid 98% of the time anyone visited, but they were patient and calm and did everything they could to find her/lure her out to administer her medication. At one point the cat even hid in a not-so-great (read: dangerous) place while the sitter was there. She refused to come out which had me pretty nervous. Despite having already completed the visit for the night, the sitter even went back later to make sure the cat was okay and had a clear exit path from the hiding spot she had wrangled herself into. (THANK YOU JULIA!) Could not be more thankful for how well this experience went! My cat was totally shy and annoying the entire time, but ACS was ready for it! Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a reliable sitter in Austin. read more

ACS gave the most coherent response, which was a sign of good things ahead. The manager/co-owner came to visit first, and get all the knowledge they need. It was quick and easy. I was away for five days, and got both 15- and 30- minute visits to cover my 2 cats. I got pictures and a wonderful note from our sitter after each visit. It kept me connected while away, and I knew they were in good hands. It's a concierge service, so even the trash taken out upon return. I'm happy to pay for this kind of quality service. ACS was an amazing find. We were so worried because right before our vacation one of our cats got very sick and required quite a bit of care (special diet, multiple medications and subcutaneous fluids). The team took such incredible care of both cats especially the sick one. Their updates helped our daily worry level and the pics were great. We could tell that our sick one was immensely improving based upon the reports and pics. We also love the 'awards' given to both pets. Wow! This service is SO perfect! I use Rover to watch my pup but have always just had a friend or neighbor pop in to check on my slightly anxious kitty. Not only do they LOVE kitties and care for mine as if he were their own. They bring in all my packages, sweep up, send photos and a recap of their visit. Somehow my kitty always looks cuter in the photos they send than when I am home! I have have left my kitty in their care for just a couple days to as long as 2.5 weeks, and I trust them 100%. I had them look after my cat for a few weeks once, by the time I came back he was so matted that he literally needed to be shaved. I was desperate enough that I needed someone at the last minute so gave it another shot and literally came back to cat poop in my bed.
