I would not recommend Austin Table and Chairs based on my experience. I originally requested a quote months in advance of my wedding reception, but after comparing prices, I decided to go with another vendor due to Austin Table and Chairs being nearly double the cost. Three days before the event, I received a text that I mistakenly thought was from the vendor I did choose -- there had been no communication from Austin Table and Chairs since the original quote. I signed the contract, unaware it was from them. On the day of the event, the venue manager informed me that two different companies had delivered tables and chairs. That's when I realized the mistake. I immediately contacted Austin Table and Chairs and asked them to come retrieve their items, which they did -- in the middle of the reception, causing a disruption during a carefully planned and deeply meaningful event. I've now paid three times what I budgeted for something that should have been straightforward. This entire situation could have been avoided with clearer, more timely communication. Sending a contract just days before an event after months of silence, with no confirmation or follow-up, feels like a tactic designed to confuse clients during an already stressful time. As someone who works in the hospitality industry, I expect vendors to understand how far in advance events are planned and how critical clarity and reliability are. Unfortunately, this experience felt more like a trap than a service, and I don't believe it reflects the care or professionalism clients deserve. read more

ACTR is one of the shadiest companies I have done business with. Please read to see how a $428.99 order turned into $1211.07 total charges. We rented 60 chairs and 11 tables from this company for our wedding which cost a total of $428.99 after delivery and tax. In an email, I inquired about prices for plates, after hours pickup and some extra chairs but decided against it. Keep in mind that I did not indicate that I wanted to include these options. I sent them a signed agreement for only 60 chairs and 11 tables and stated that I will move the chairs to a nearby location if the venue does not allow for overnight storage. On the day of the wedding, they delivered the plates anyway and picked up the table and chairs same day. We left the plates wrapped as we did not use them. Later, they charged us $161 for 210 plates and $46 for cleaning the plates, which we obviously were not use. They also charged an extra $195 for after hours pickup. After the wedding, they claimed they were missing 10 chairs even though we counted out 60 in the return pile. I asked them several times how many chairs they received and never received an answer. They then charged my credit card for another $324.50 for the missing chairs. So a simple order and signed agreement for 60 chairs and 11 tables turned into $428.99 plus extra charges amounting to $782.08. read more

We had 30 people over to my house and rented everything from tables, chairs, table clothes, plates, coffee mugs etc. the company was extremely responsive and polite and was reasonably priced. They conveniently delivered to my house the day before thanksgiving and even picked everything up the Saturday afterwards. The man and his company are reliable,flexible and fair. They have EVERYTHING I need and I never have to go anywhere else. Javier, the owner, is wonderful. His prices are the best in town and I appreciated that he really went above and beyond to help me with timing for my husband's 40th birthday party. His delivery and pick up were right on time and the items I ordered were perfect. He's one of the few places in town that actually rents red carpet instead just selling it and the carpet was high quality and looked great. The other awesome part about his service was that he was willing to do a pick up on Sunday for no extra charge; most places in town will not do a Sunday pick up! That ended up not working with our schedules so he did the pick up on Monday and did not charge us for an extra day. Super cool. After calling a number of other rental companies in town who all told me they were too busy or out of the chair I needed, I called Javier at Austin Chair and Table Rental and I am so glad I did! It was a last moment order of just 10 chairs but Javier was extremely attentive and responsive. I knew he was slammed but he still made time for my tiny order and delivered the chairs as promised. When I spoke to him on the phone the day-of, I asked him how they did their billing, whether they accepted credit cards and his comment was basically, "Getting the chairs to you, on time is my first priority, we will handle payment after." Highly recommend! Javier was a super nice guy and responded to my emails in a timely manner. Delivery and pick up went as expected with no issues. We were billed 50% when reserving the equipment and paid the other half the day of the event. No problems at all. We ended up with a stellar setup in our backyard consisting of a 20x40 tent, tables, linens, chairs, and a dance floor. It. Was. Awesome. The linens arrived clean and in pristine condition and the tent was a lot nicer than expected. The dance floor held up well with all the folks dancing on it for hours on end. I called this business on 5/14 but got a message stating the voicemail was full. Red flag for a business, right? I sent Javier an email. He stated that "it's been crazy (to busy)" (sic) and asked for my phone number. No mention of fixing the voicemail issue. I emailed him back my number but never got a call. And when I called again to follow up... voicemail still full. It's great that business is good for Javier, but will it continue to be if he cannot properly manage his customer contacts? Amazing customer service! Good, quality products. Excellent delivery and pick up. Rental rates are the lowest in town :) I'm pretty particular about my events and can be annoying with my questions/desire to make sure things are done properly, but I felt at ease and respected here. They even accomodated a morning of change from me picking up the equipment to having it delivered. I rented tables and chairs for a baby shower in September and will be renting from them again for a backyard cookout. The experience ended with a dinner in Zilker Park, under our violet crown evening sky in a tent environment created by Javier. The photos show the experience to be exactly what I envisioned. This place is awesome. Needed 15 chairs for a party and found this place through Yelp. (Thanks Yelp!) The chairs were 85 cents a piece and there was no minimum on the number of chairs you have to rent. Called and Javier told me to just come by and pick them up. Showed up with my truck, took about 5 minutes for paperwork and the guys in the back loaded them in my truck and we were off. The chairs worked great and we returned them 2 days later as requested. They had some nice looking event furniture for rent at the place and we plan on renting again if we need to. If you need chairs though, this is the place to go! read more

Absolutely the worst company I have ever rented furniture from. We called them a month in advance and they sent the reservation form to the wrong email address. They spelled the company name wrong to a major, reputable team with over 70 locations- get it together. When I called 2 days before the event they had already rented one of the items I previously tried to hold (the main entrance piece we were going to use). They told me they had another event that day and would have to drop off the items early at 7am. I told them where to drop them off and that someone would be there to oversee the items until the volunteers for the event showed up to start set-up at 9:00am. Once the event was over we waited over an hour for them to come pick-up the items, which we paid $175 extra for because it was a Sunday. They never came. My team had to carry everything upstairs, by themselves, in the rain. Then later that night their pick-up guy called my personal cell phone at 9:00pm to come get everything. This was an event that I planned, and I wasn't there to let him in when he conveniently came to pick up everything 6 hours past our allotted time. I told them they needed to call in the morning and luckily, we moved everything inside for them so their items wouldn't get stolen as the location of the event was on a public jogging trail that outsiders of the building had access to. In the morning on Monday, they called my cell phone again, after calling my office number to ask if they could come get the items. I told them it was my birthday and to call the actual location of where the event took place, not my office. As I was driving to go to lunch I wasn't able to look up the number for them due to the hands-free driving law and the women told me she "didn't have time for this" and hung up on me. If they would've just picked everything up when they said, or had the reservation right in the first place, none of this would've happened. We're currently trying to get some sort of a discount for having to deal with the hassle and extra man power. This is their email response: Hello McKenna, Very simple, you get upset because we didn't pick up the equipment @ 3:30 BUT when we tried to contact you in the morning as well the contact person on the contract to received the equipment NO ONE NEVER BOTHER to answer our calls and text messages. the equipment kept there along and now you turn around and tell me what you just did on your email. My crew stopped by to pick up the equipment and they found only the chairs y you were concern about the equipment WHY you only yoke the tables and not all of it. We will pick up our tables tomorrow and during the day and I hope SOMEONE will answer our calls tinker us know we're they are. Javier M. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We rented chairs for our wedding then paid an extra $175 to have them picked up the same night (which is ridiculous). Chairs were not picked up that night and we were still charged. When we called to speak with them about the issue the receptionist told 3 different stories about when they showed up, none of which were accurate. I'll add to the chorus: these guys are great, and Javier is an amazing business man and a helluva guy. I called him about two weeks prior to hosting a major wedding-related event in my backyard to arrange tents, chairs, and tables for about 70 people. He was very helpful in figuring out our needs, and his prices were great. But even more than that, he was incredibly patient as our order changed and became more complex (e.g. we eventually cancelled the tent and Javier didn't bat an eye), and especially when we played phone tag for a while on getting the final contract settled and signed. I don't think we hammered out the final details until literally just a few days before, but Javier was very understanding. He's also full of energy --- I don't think Javier sleeps, he'll respond to an email after midnight and call you back first thing in the morning! I can't recommend Austin Chair and Table Rental enough. If you're hosting an event, they have great prices, great stuff, and absolutely excellent service. Use no one else. read more
