Currently traveling through the US and I was so at appreciative of this KOA. The staff was always incredibly friendly and welcoming. They had a ton of information up at the office of what to do/eat in the Austin area, which was very helpful. The bathrooms and laundry area were always CLEAN!!! By far, one of the best camp grounds I've been to. It is my first KOA. Sites are bright green and spacious. Great little fire pits. Salt water pool. Nice clean digital laundry machines. Shower water was just tepid. Couldn't get the water to get hot. Water from the bathroom sinks also didn't get hot. Heated pool was chilly and not heated much. Staff apologized but that was all. Not on a par with many the excellent KOA campgrounds we've stayed at. read more

We stayed 4 nights and really enjoyed it. Quiet, safe, sparkling clean, and very professionally managed. Kelly in the store and the campsite guide Scott were both so nice and helpful. This place is a short Uber ride to the 6th street nightlife and a reasonable drive to the Round Top area antique shopping. read more

They do not enforce the dog policy. Dogs not on leashes, walking them thru every ones campsites, leaving them barking and crying in campers for hours. Otherwise a very clean and relatively quiet park read more

This was the first campsite I stayed in with my RV and had an amazing Experience! They have literally the nicest bathrooms with lighted mirrors and organic lotions and handwash. The showers are AMAZING. Very high quality, lots of room, huge full body mirror to check yourself out :p It almost reminds me of glamping it was so nice. They also have the Literal cutest souvenir shop you've ever seen, I went a little crazy haha but I don't regret it one bit. What a wonderful KOA! Super easy to get to using the motor home. Sites are level and large enough you do not fee on top of each other. The grounds are kept nice and neat as well! We were thankful to find a spot last minute for our spring break get away to Austin! Papaw and a GiGi met up with us in their motor home and we were able to see a little bit of Austin as well as do some shopping in San Marcos! read more

When traveling with an RV with a puppy, dog park is essential. You can tell a lot about the quality of the people running the park by the quality of their dog park. We've been all over the country from New York to Florida to Northern California and there isn't a dog park anywhere that can touch this one! It's the very best. Spacious and well cared for. After that, for us it's the bathrooms..., perfect. The pool..... perfect..... the Laundry room..... perfect. Beautiful KOA! The spots were super level and nice sized. Staff was friendly and made rounds frequently, which I like to see. :) The pool was great, showers were immaculate and looked brand new. The dog park is HUGE with loads of shade, picnic tables to sit, and doggie bags. I love that you can book a spot with patio furniture too. And you can pay a little more for a shady spot if you choose. We'd definitely come here again. read more

This KOA Campground just charged me $180.00 for cancelling my reservation 13 days from an event that I was going to attend. The conference was cancelled because of COVID-19. I had no control over this. I hope you spend the money on some good stuff, because KOA campgrounds will never see another penny from me. Heartless bastards. Update: The owner called me and lectured me on how rough his business is during this time. He stated that he WAS "fixin' to give me a refund" after berating me. Poor, poor business practices. We came for a day to escape another terrible campground and was relieved with how great this place is. This is the worst KOA I've ever been to, and one of the very worst campgrounds of any kind! It is very difficult to find, poor directions and no KOA-specific signs in a large area. When you get there, they have an age limit of ten years which they do not publicize at all, so you can get there only to find that they have kept the RV age limit a secret. The woman who runs the place is very aggressive and abrasive, and communicates very poorly. The staff (mostly that one woman) are rude and don't care that things are so poor. After they told me about the ten-year age limit, they told me to go to another campground over thirty miles away with no directions and no guarantee of any space there. We had a great stay, they accommodated our need for an earlier check in. We were greeted like family and offered firewood delivery and ice. The sites are clean with nice big fire rings. The camp hosts, Parker and Kim were beyond helpful and taught us how to play corn hole. They shared some great spots to visit and food recommendations in the city. We would visit again read more

Average KOA with a good location for visiting the F1 track. The roads and sites are rough due to a resurfacing project gone wrong. Each site has a concrete living pad with a grill and table with chairs. There is a fire pit at each site just off the pad. The park has a dog area, pool and playground along with a clubhouse that has very clean showers, bathrooms and laundry facilities. The park is a bit overpriced, but we will be staying here again for the convenience to the circuit of the Americas track. Great KOA with very friendly staff and amazing facilities. Private showers and very nice restrooms. The only downside was the polymer pads they laid for their sites. After spending 4 of the last 5 months here, I've decided to share my thoughts. The nice things about here are that it's newer and the facilities are all top notch. It's close enough to everything Austin normally has to offer. The longhorn cattle are cool. The down side, our first site was near the gravel pit which borders it, there's a constant rumble of trucks and equipment, very noisy all day and extremely dusty. Our site for the last 3 months is near their state of the art septic system, which fails constantly, setting off an obnoxious alarm that goes all night until someone realizes it. There is also a horrible sewage odor that comes from it, making it almost impossible to open up the windows to enjoy the beautiful weather that winter in Texas has to offer. Our immediate neighbors have a broke down class c, with flat tires and piles of belongings outside including bins of clothes. They also have a smashed, broke down mini van parked next to it. For the last 3 weeks or so there has been raw sewage bubbling up in our yard 5 feet from our door. We've brought it to their attention numerous times, only to be told someone would look at it. One person had looked at it when we first noticed it, and no action has been taken, other than to say someone will look at it, again and again and again read more

Another year at Austin East KOA...we were welcomed as old friends. Since we were not positive when we were leaving, Tanya made sure we had a great shady site (with100+ temperatures that's important) that could have our stay extended as much as we wanted. Again, spotless bathrooms & unisex showers..plus the laundry. Campground was peaceful even with people enjoying the area. No problems with electricity popping breakers either. Will be our Austin stop. read more

This KOA has amazing staff, a HUGE dog park area and a nice pool in the center of the park. Our patio was also great, level, and had its own Weber grill, fire pit and swing. It's about 20 minutes from downtown Austin so we would just uber downtown! read more

DONT STAY HERE if you have dogs. Our dog ran out from under our camper and just ran by a dog and barked at it. The owner came and said our dog was aggressive and dangerous. There was no altercation, or dog fight or biting, or even contact with the other dog or its owner. Our dog just ran by the other dog and barked. The owner came and said our dog had to be removed from the property immediately which meant we had to go. The owner didn't even want to hear my side of the story. Ridiculous and unreasonable. Admittedly our dog was not on a leash and they require all dogs to be on a 6 foot leash at all times even though their own employees can have their dogs on longer leashes. Regardless, beware if you stay here and your dog is playful or excited - you might be kicked out! Having to move was totally inconvenient and as a result we had to cancel our plans for that day. In addition it's super expensive. There are many other reasonable places to stay with reasonable owners! read more

Beautiful new campground! The staff is very friendly and helpful. Everything is new and clean. The laundry facilities accept debit/credit cards which was convenient. My toddler aged kids enjoyed the swings and small play structure. And they loved the pool- there's a shallow wading pool step with simple water fountains that my two year old was entertained with for quite some time. Made the pool extra fun since he can't swim yet. Not your average KOA. Randy is the ambassador. Great guy, good stories and professional. But each KOA has an "aura". This one is bliss. New, clean, not crowded, and all the staff is attentive. Pool is heated, great for kids, bathrooms spotless, and a half acre dog park. Conveniently located, yet very quiet. It's the perfect basecamp for your central Texas jaunts. The customer service is amazing and really the only reason I didn't give it a 5 Star is cuz we have 3 kids under 4 and there isn't as much kid friendly stuff. So awesome!! This is probably the nicest KOA I've ever been to... we arrived later on Saturday night and the guy met us and guided us to our tent site. Unfortunately, that night we were situated by two people who did not understand the etiquette of quiet activities after 10:00 pm and then proceeded to have a cussing fight at 1:00 am. We trudged up to the office that next morning and the two sweet ladies in there gave us free coffee and immediately switched our tent site. We stayed an additional two nights with no more issues. They checked us one again and said the manager had went and visited with them. They also checked in with the residents around our location. Awesome customer service and great new friends made! ... Called two nights ago and got a quote for a cabin, drive the next day to said koa. On arrival I tried booking a cabin for one night (after a 3hour road trip) and got told it was a two night minimum to stay. I don't understand why that wasn't told to me before heading all the way there. And who can afford around $300 for a two night stay? Ridiculous and not good customer service. I am a koa member but will not be staying somewhere where I feel unwelcomed. read more

While this was my first time on a KOA site, I was very happy with the experience. All staff had smiles and were helpful to accommodate our two travel trailers throughout our stay. This place is awesome! The bathrooms are cleaner as can be, the mirrors have touch screen lights so you can control the lighting, the staff is awesome! Specifically Ms. Kim, who is so hard working and kind! We had a little mess up where we were supposed to be and she was so graceful about the situation. This campsite is seriously the best! We've stayed at a good amount of campsites on our road trip out west and this one is by far the best! If we're ever back in Austin we know where to stay! read more

This was one of my favorite campgrounds I have stayed at. It was very clean. The hosts were constantly coming around cleaning pet trash cans, which at one place I stayed at were always overflowing. The dog park was huge and very nice. I felt very safe . Everyone was friendly and helpful. I will stay here again. I stayed for 5 days, wanted to stay longer, but had a family function to attend. This is a nice KA with many amenities. A little ways out, yet close enough to get to stores, restaurants or whatever your looking for! Friendly owners. It is brand new so still a bit of work going on, but the bath house is open, the onsite laundromat is open. A nice clubhouse and pools! It has a nice dog park for your furry friends! Full 30/50 amp hook ups and many amenities! This will be a hopping place soon! read more

There were a lot of nice things about this KOA like it's extremely friendly staff, how clean the grounds were, or the peaceful quite atmosphere once it got dark out, but what really blew me away were the bathrooms here! The bath house is so clean! The bathroom and showers are separate from each other, very private. The showers are nice tile and very clean. I would definitely stay here again. read more

We were going to stay here for a few months but after taking the time to check it out we decided it was not for us. This is why: 1. Everything 'cost' a bit more. To stay by the month one was required to 'rent' a mailbox for $45 (of which $30 would be refunded upon leaving. 2. Upon leaving you were required to leave a deposit of $100 or $200 on your credit card until such time as the campground determined that. you had not damaged your site. 3. If you had someone 'visit' for a day they had to get a $3 visitor pass just to be on the property. Visitors had to park elsewhere. 4. Although this campground is relatively 'new' there was still a lot of roadwork to be done. You'd have to proceed very slowly with a large rv! 5. Location - it is removed from everything but is close to the airport runways. There are quite a few busy roads located nearby that also create noise. It is a fair distance to travel to go shopping. Perhaps in time this park will be more 'user friendly''as it develops but we just didn't feel the cost justified what we'd receive as a winter destination away from the snow. read more
