Cowboy boots and shirt that the Manager lent me
    KevinTawny T.

RV park conveniently located near downtown Austin by Uber. I came here for work and found this place awesome for my family to hang out, using the pool, gym, playing ping pong, billiard and chess while I'm in downtown for meetings. When back, the Bath House has 9 beautiful and well-maintained, private shower rooms. The fenced dog park gives my pup a chance to stretch in legs while my kids play at the playground nearby. While the sites are not paved, I found the gravel to be quite serviceable for the sites (ie. not muddy). I wonder how that would fare in the rainy months though ? Meanwhile, the BEST thing about this place has gotta be the friendly, helpful staff. Husband needed to print a contract while we were here and they have a business center. I needed to go buy some cowboy boots for a themed meeting, and it wasn't possible with Uber within the timeframe I had. Mary, the GM here, lent me a brand new pair of boots that she just happened to have in my size, as well as the cool western shirt that she made. TEXAS HOSPITALITY AT ITS BEST. Thank you Mary and thank you Sun RV for hosting us these past few days while we passed through Austin!

The lower falls had little water and there was a huge slew of trash and litter in it and it looked disgusting. The upper falls were better but very little water flowing. We were leaving soon but my wire told me to pull over so she could photograph some wildflowers. I did because there was nobody there that day, but a Ranger had to come scold me anyway. Well I did leave behind my $12. I hope it goes for trash removal.

We went for a hike there right after a big storm and the grounds were so green and vibrant. We mostly stuck to the Onion Creek Trail as it is paved; however, the storm brought in mud to a few places on the trail, so be prepared to maneuver or wear proper footwear if you go during rainy season. Many families line up to take pictures in front of the upper falls (outside the Smith visitor center), so go early if you'd like a picture free of other guests. We then went to the lower falls area where there is an expanse of limestone (I believe) to get to the falls. There's a very small beach and swimming hole area that many families were enjoying. It's important to note that dogs can't enter any of the water at this park. The park also had multiple designated fishing areas as well. We drove around the campgrounds and they have well-maintained water + electric sites at every site. We would highly recommend a visit if you're in the Austin area.

If you like off leash RV parks with dogs free to roam, you'll love it here…read more I really wanted to love this place but my experience has been terrible. This place has zero integrity & hospitality. You can't trust anything they advertise. They do not enforce the leash rules, causing leashed dogs to be ambushed by off leash dogs which is a huge safety issue, as it creates a fight or flight response in dogs. I was blown off for days in my request that they enforce the leash rule they advertise. I simply asked that I am able to choose if I want to introduce my dog to other dogs, but at Austonia you do not have that right. In my persistence in requesting that they enforce this leash rule, I was threatened and bullied. The manager Tiffany was as confrontational and rude as they come. In response to my complaint, she threatened to kick me out because of my senior dogs breed, when really it's because I'm asking them to enforce their own leash rules. So basically they are going to enforce a breed rule on me because I am complaining about them not enforcing the leash rule on others. They also do not guarantee your location, even if you pay extra to lock it in. They moved me on arrival and said they would refund the lock fee but didn't. Shame on you Austonia.

The host was lovely, came up to greet us and then led us to our RV site. From a pups perspective this place was 's (4paws). The RV sites are a great size. Concrete pads so no muddy paws here! The RV site was long enough for our 42' RV and longbed truck with room to spare! A good size grass area on each side of the RV, a shade tree for us to lay under! There was also an amazing meadow filled with grass, trees, a doggie bag / trash section and a path! The humans also liked that there was 50 amp power! And let's not forget sewer and water hookups!! Water pressure was great. RV sites are level! Oh and we mention this again cause it was important, enough room between you and your neighbor where you can have your curtains/ blinds up and not feel like you are in the neighbors living room nor hear them or their TV. There is no pool, playground or dog park, but they are enhancing their RV park so not sure what the future holds. None of that held us back from enjoying our stay. Did I mention the roads around the park? Nice and spacious, no tight turns, easy to get into your space and nice and wide for dog walking.... Oh and for driving Their motto is 'keep Austin weird' so we knew we'd fit in . Thankfully it was a very short drive to downtown Austin, 10-20 mins depending on traffic. Anyway a few pix, while it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of some of the other parks, we really, really loved the feel and the space between RV sites as well as that meadow. We would have given one more if there was an enclosed dog park and or if the patios had tables / fire pits. Other than that, it was perfect. We would definitely stay here again. Oh and a tip. There is a nice park, Barkley Green Meadows, about a 5min drive ( you can take back roads or highway) that has a playground for your kids and plenty of walking paths to walk your pups

On any given day you'll see dogs chasing frisbees, people picnicking like it's a competitive sport, and someone doing yoga in a spot that makes you wonder if they're performing for the whole park. The lawn stretches out forever, and on a sunny day it feels like half the city is out there claiming a patch of grass. Yes, the Zilker Zephyr (the little train) still exists in spirit, though it's been through closures and rebuilds. The current version -- the Zilker Eagle -- runs a short loop that's basically nostalgia on wheels. Kids love it, adults tolerate it, and everyone agrees it's one of those Austin things that doesn't need to make sense to be charming. Down by Barton Springs Pool, the real show is the area where the pool overflows into Barton Creek. It's almost always packed with families, college kids, and anyone who didn't feel like paying admission or dealing with lifeguards. It's a lively, slightly chaotic stretch of water -- people wading, floating, splashing, and generally having a great time in a spot that feels like Barton Springs' unofficial side‑door entrance. Parking is its own adventure, especially on weekends, and you'll see people trekking across the park like they're on a pilgrimage from wherever they finally found a spot. But once you're in, it's easy to settle into the mix of sunshine, crowds, and classic Austin energy.
