There were some things that needed to be fixed but it looked like they were in progress and after meeting one of the maintenance guys i'm sure he's on it. The only reason we're giving this a 4-star and not a 5 is because of a noise issue. Pretty much everything was fine but right after we checked in and got setup, construction workers pulled into the next space with their trailer and a couple work trucks. One was a typical work truck and the other was a larger truck with what looked like a crane/bucket on top. The guys themselves were not a problem but they'd leave very early in the morning and it was annoying to get woken up to the sound of diesel trucks firing up at 6am and idling for 15-20 minutes 20 feet from my bed. I guess contractors/construction workers staying there is a pretty regular thing. There is "overflow" parking over near the office and I think it would be nice if Hope Hill required work trucks to park over there out of courtesy for the other guests. I work hard and get up early every day. The last thing i want to do on my vacation is get woken up even earlier by loud trucks. Overall it was a good experience. If we ever find ourselves in that neck of the woods I'd stay here again. Maybe they'll have designated contractor/work truck parking by then

We streamed Netflix on our Roku, did a zoom call on my laptop, scrolled through Instagram on my best. Seriously, it never skipped a beat. The grounds are so peaceful and beautiful. Only two washers and driers on site but that hasn't seemed to be an issue so far - but they do take quarters so make sure you have a roll for the $2/per cycles. Nothing to do no water in lakes. No fishing. Park ranger stuck ticket on windshield because I was reading the cabin and they're on there no lights at all. Great location close to downtown Bastrop which worked out perfectly since the Patriotic Festival was this weekend. From the top of the hill near the entrance you had a good view of the fireworks. Since we had grilled and just started eating when the 1st fireworks began, we watched from the cabin. Aside from the highway, we could see the whole show from the side. The owners, the Kitays, are super friendly and knowledgeable. The campgrounds are well-kept and clean. There are all options of camping available. We checked out the pool and splashpad which my 5-year-old enjoyed. Highly recommend and would love to come back!

The nightly rates advertised aren't as low as they actually turn out to be which is unfortunately very common. It ended up being about $90/night for an rv spot. There's also volleyball courts, ping pong etc. plenty of things to do. They do Friday movie nights at the pool for kids. Great place. We had an ant issue and they ended up getting into our rv and we lost some food over it. My kids got bit a few times as well, because the ants got in their clothes. We found the ants crawling up our extension cord and into the rv. I put in two maintenance requests about it but never heard back so I bought some ant killer and solved it myself.
