I never felt out of place. We arrived to a clean site. Didn't find anything to complain about. We stayed here for 3 nights and it made life easier while exploring the city of Austin and San Antonio. Our dogs were also happy as they enjoyed the walks around the park. Too bad we missed the Halloween pet parade.

This place has serious billing and management problems…read more Not only was I double charged, but after I left the property I continued receiving invoices for months as if I were still staying there. Repeated attempts to correct the issue were either ignored or met with vague responses and no resolution. Trying to get a straight answer felt like chasing smoke. A business that cannot keep basic records of who is onsite and who has already paid should not be handling customers' credit cards. The experience left me feeling frustrated, disrespected, and concerned about how many other guests are dealing with the same mess. Until they fix their accounting practices and learn how to properly close out an account when a guest departs, I would strongly recommend staying somewhere else.

It is such a nice, quiet park in a country atmosphere with very friendly owners. Sites are well maintained and laundry facilities are exceptional. The bath houses are currently under construction. The owners are very conscientious about maintaining and improving the grounds and providing a tranquil, well kept campground for their renters. Our pups were huge fans, too. We got to sit out in the hot tub and enjoy how nice and quiet it was and we loved checking out Bastrop since we had never been! The bed was comfortable and it had a great shower and running water! The only couple of things that we noted we wish were "better" was the lake itself was HOT! It's a cooling reservoir for the nearby power plant so we weren't able to actually enjoy the water and with a Texas summer cold water = best scenario. SO, would recommend lake activities in the fall/winter for that reason! And also, the doors are beautiful on the cabin but since we are in nature bugs will come inside. We turned on ambiance lighting the last night we were there and the bugs had a party. With the doors being slider doors they aren't flush to the wall and have much easier ways for the bugs to come inside, so be aware of that! Other than those couple pieces, we really loved it and had a wonderful time!

This property is a perfect Studio setup on Lake Buchanan! If you're into the outdoors/nature and lake scene but also enjoy everything you need right at your fingertips this is the place for you! It's clean, it's more spacious than the photos give it credit for, it's affordable, and most of all, it's peaceful! Here are some of the awesome things you'll find at Ralph's Lake Cottage: King size bed, trundle bed with pull out, chaise lounge, decks and patio furniture, full size fridge and oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, blender, full set of kitchenware and cooking supplies. Coffee, tea, zip locks, paper towels, toilet paper, pillows, blankets, extra sheets, bath towels, beach towels, flashlights, musical instruments, DVDs, puzzles, games, cards, fans, kayaks, bikes, swings, firepit, BBQ pit, and more! Seriously, the owners thought of everything! All I brought with me was some wine, snacks, comfy clothes, and my sewing supplies. I had my own personal Sewing Retreat for the weekend and it was fantastic! =) As far as nearby attractions, I only ventured out once when I took the 25 minute drive to Llano, Texas. It was a super cute town with several boutiques, gift shops, restaurants, and 2 quilt stores (which were my main motivator for leaving the cottage). There's also a Family Dollar. There are also nearby wineries and a Country Store with plenty of basics plus made to order pizza, salads, and sandwiches. I personally recommend bringing some food, some wine and comfy clothes and just hanging out to enjoy the scenery. Be sure to do some star gazing at night and get up for the sunrise - it's AMAZING!

This was a fantastic…read morealternative to staying at a hotel, as you have a full kitchen, laundry, private outdoor seating, free Wifi, and conveniences like an iPod dock, platform bed, and overhead rain shower. The washer/dryer and laundry room was totally worth it, as I was able to catch up on laundry before the next leg of my trip. The Nest looks exactly like it does on the website, and the location is great as well. It is literally adjacent to a shopping center (the back parking lot of Sears is like 20 feet away) but surprisingly this isn't a negative because it's still very quiet. Convenient to restaurants, grocery stores, and a golf course where you can go for a run around the perimeter. Highly recommended. When I visit Austin again, I'll be back!
