Dr. Adolph Mares is a kind and gentle physician. However, at my recent appointment (September 2024) for an annual EKG checkup my case was assisted by a male technician for medication review, blood pressure check & EKG test. During previous visits I had female assistants, which I do prefer when it comes to exams that require removal of clothing. I didn't want to raise an issue initially so I continued with the male assistant. When it came time to execute the EKG, some protocols were not executed. I was not given a gown to change into and due to oils & lotion on my skin I had to remove with alcohol pads for the EKG monitors to adhere to my skin properly. The male assistant watched as I removed the oils from my chest, groin, and breast area. This was unusual protocol because during past appointments I was given a gown and privacy to prepare for the test. As a woman I prefer and will ensure to advocate for female doctors & assistants in order to prevent any uncomfortable situations. I did speak up just prior to the execution of the EKG, requesting a female technician. Ladies protect your bodies, comfort, & privacy when receiving healthcare, do not be afraid to speak up & advocate for yourself. read more

My dads appointment was at 1430, he arrived at 1440. He Waited behind a man filling out paperwork (at the desk!) for 10 minutes. Then when he got to the receptionist they checked him in, then charged him his $40 co pay he was sitting down at1434. 40 minutes later they call us up and say because we were 4! Minutes late we need to wait an hour and half or reschedule. This is completely unprofessional and not good business for Doctor Richard Olstein. The 2 ladies confirmed that it was the doctors decision to make this call, not theirs. We will be switching providers due to this mismanagement. read more

The only reason I'm giving this doctor here 2 stars is because the nurses here are really nice. If you have an appointment with DR. Marres good luck. The minute I told him I am gay and have a wife he didn't want to care for me anymore. The second appointment I had with him he told me there was nothing wrong with me and it's in my head and when I'm feeling dizzy to tell myself that it's normal. I had a scheduled appointment at 3:15 for a stress test. I checked in at 3:10. At 3:40, no one called my name to go to the back where the tests are performed. I went to the front desk and the receptionist assisted with seeing why it was taking so long to see me. A few minutes later I was called back and assisted by a kind nurse, Erica. She prepared me for the test and called the PA in to assist, who said he would be there in 2 minutes. We waited a while but no more that 10 minutes. By this time it's 4:10. He comes in asks how I'm doing. I stated I'm frustrated because of the time. Daren (the PA)proceeds to tell me I'm sorry we are late but we are a very busy office. (Wow where's the charm in that?). I stated it would be nice to let people know when you're going yo be late. It's called courtesy. He states well we can reschedule. Why would I reschedule? I've already waited an hour. Needless to say, I won't be recommending this place to anyone. Maybe patients should start charging these VERY BUSY places A LATE FEE. For every 15 minutes they are late, $30 please. read more

Austin Heart in Killeen/Harker Heights has been amazing in my families time of need. Not only did they get my husband in for a stat appointment for his heart but that same week my father had unknown heart issues and they jumped through hoops to make sure he was seen as well. To be able to call a business as a new patient and get this level of care not once but twice in the same week cannot be understated. Everyone in the office has been amazing! For as busy as they are they still got us into our appointments fast and both rooms I visited with my husband and father were spotless. They both saw Dr McKay and he, like everyone there, was calm, polite and informative and made the seriousness of the situation feel manageable. I have been a patient of this Hospital for a long time now, but this new receptionist is not user friendly in any way. I understand she is a senior or soon to be , but why have a job that require to interact with people when she does not have the peoples skills. Find a new work environment , file paper works or remove staples or something, but having an angry face and talking with a lack of respect is not going to get you anywhere. You are the first person patients come and see, so believe me when I tell you, you either drive them out or ease their transition to their doctors visit. Be kind and nice to people, and they will remember you . I will soon have another visit to see my doctor, I will follow up on this review. read more

I called and asked if they did cosmetic sclerotherapy; I was told that they did and even got a price. Unfortunately, this office was, at least for me, a discombobulated mess of misinformation - which is surprising, as they've been open for a while. I'll say first that the ladies both up front and in the back were wonderful, and did their best to help me. But they could not overcome how poorly the place is run, nor how I was treated by the physician I saw, Dr. Pandya. Dr. Pandya was in my opinion rude, arrogant, and more interested in talking about my insurance than my actual medical condition. He was some forty minutes late for my first appointment with him; for the second, I waited an hour and then stuck my head out the door of the exam room and said, "Where IS he?" The startled staff went to go find him. He miraculously showed up a minute later and brushed past me into the room, mumbling something that might have been a semi-apology. I was told that this office did/did not/did/did not offer the cosmetic sclerotherapy I had requested. I was also told that Dr. Pandya could/couldn't/could/couldn't/could read my ultrasound. The rooms were untidy with empty tissue boxes, and the office manager was aware of my issues but only reached out to me after I called the office in Austin to complain. She said she wanted to make me happy, but we both knew she would do nothing and it sure sounded like it was being said through gritted teeth . . . read more
