I was so excited to go see her until I found out her studio was in Dripping Springs! I live in Brentwood in Central Austin. Dare I cross the river for my skin? Yes, Gabby's skin looked that flawless. We are in our 50's, btw. I reached out to Marcie and we picked a good time for lighter traffic. I zipped right there and it really enjoyed taking a drive. Something I rarely do. Marcie had a lot of work to do. I was diagnosed with cancer in Feb.. After undergoing 6 weeks of radiation and two rounds of chemo I honestly look 100 years old. My skin is dry as a bone. To be honest, I don't even look like the same person. Marcie knew exactly what to do. She was so educational on skin after cancer, products to use and we now have a skincare program. I love a plan! My skin also looked amazing, Marcie is truly the best. I do not do much self care. This is now changing. Mico-needling, here I come. I booked a monthly appointment so I can get my special "less traffic" time. My skin looked so beautiful and hydrated. I would drive to Arizona to see Marcie. Skincare is truly her calling. She's very knowledgeable and her approach is relaxed but informative, offering options for a routine that fit both your skin & lifestyle. She's also very thorough but gentle with her technique, which is incredibly important if you have sensitive skin like I do. I love the products she uses and they have worked incredibly well on my skin. Elizabeth is also in school for nutrition, so she can speak to how your diet will affect your skin as well. On top of everything else, she is just the nicest person! During the massage my eyes opened to a girl in the room with her phone up as if she was filming, I closed my eyes and was confused. A few moments later I opened my eyes again to the girl with her phone up as if she was filming me. I turn to the lady massaging my head and asked if she was filming me and she said yes, I responded and said no I don't want to be filmed. After the massage was over she asked for our phone numbers to "approve or disapprove" the footage for her to use. I was so confused and annoyed and said no two times persistently, still she was trying to convince me by saying how she won't be using my face. I told her I don't want any footage of my head or anything and she looked almost baffled that I said that. Anyway I'm super frustrated with the way she was handling this whole filming thing, it seemed more important than the actual massage. At one point I even heard her say to the girl filming "one more time over here" while I was trying to relax. I have a good feeling they are going to use that footage anyway.

Her office is in a great location with free parking, and her office is so cute and clean. She was instantly very accommodating, kind, professional and welcoming. She answered all of my questions and didn't push any services or anything at all, and it really felt like we were working together to make the decision. Since I have oily skin, it made more sense to do powder on my brows. I went back a couple of weeks later for my appointment and made sure to follow the pre-appointment instructions that she had kindly sent to me attached to my appointment calendar invite. I didn't feel nervous at all, she was very accommodating again, she asked if there was any particular music I wanted to listen to (LOVED THAT) and the appointment really didn't take long at all! She uses numbing cream so I didn't feel anything. Afterwards I felt like I had a sunburn above my brows for maybe a few hours but that's it! The location can be a bit difficult to find if you aren't familiar with the building, which houses a number of different beauty salons/spas. From the front parking lot, go toward the left - the entrance for 2nd and 3rd-floor businesses is tucked away in the side. Go up the stairs/elevator to the third floor, then through the glass doors marked "Jamilla Salon and Spa" and down the hallway to the very end. Aqua Luna is the door on the right, with a cute white wrought-iron sign post over it. I filled out some quick paperwork, then got comfy in the heated bed and relaxed for an hour. Ashley was fantastic about explaining each step as she went along, and there were no bad surprises. I opted for the deep pore facial as I've been breaking out of late, and she gave me some great advice on how to minimize future issues. I also added on the optional enzyme peel, which felt great and left my skin feeling refreshed and oh-so-clean. The environment was soothing, relaxing and very clean; I wasn't at all worried about hygiene or privacy. I've never particularly cared for facials in the past - they're *nice*, but nothing I thought worth writing home about. But my experience at Aqua Luna was fantastic, and I'll not only be back - I'll buy some gift certificates for friends as well. I highly recommend this spot, and am torn between "needing to go back again" and feeling like my skin is clean enough to never need a return visit!
