I have found my new skincare guardian, Abby...with Earth + Sun Skin. The location is unassuming from the outside, but an oasis on the inside. The warm water pillow makes you feel like you are floating, and whatever potions and mixtures she uses, I leave with a golden glow of fresh, dewy, skin. The thing I hate the most about living in New York City is that I am so far away from Earth and Sun Skin Therapy. I have lived all over the country; LA, Chicago, New York, and Austin, and I have never found a place as good as this. I should also mention that I am an esthetician myself, so I am an especially picky client. Abby customizes all of her facials. She speaks with you to determine your needs and concerns, and then gets to work with the good stuff! My skin care concerns were wrinkles (yuck) and pigmentation (yuck). I went for the customized facial and decided to treat myself to an add on foot and scalp treatment. Abby spoke with me before the appointment and made me feel very comfortable and confident. Abby has hands are magic, and knocked me right out..which is hard to do! The scalp and foot treatment was better than any of ever had at any massage, and when I got up I couldn't believe how amazing my skin looked. I know it sounds cheesy, but it was actually glowing! My friends actually complimented me on how great my skin looked that afternoon. Abby explained to me the products she had used, but was never pushy with products..which I also loved. The spa itself was beautiful, and the bed was soooo comfortable. Bottom line: This was THE BEST facial I have ever had in my life. I believe the facial was $60 (the add on was a little extra on top of that). In the past I have paid between $150-$200 in Beverly Hills and New York City and this was better than any facial I ever had. So, my advice is to RUN don't walk to Earth and Sun Skin Therapy before Abby finds out her facials should be worth $500!!! read more

This review is long overdue, but alas... here is my proclamation of love for Abby: After years of difficult (but not awful) skin problems... dozens of dermatologist appointments... hundreds of dollars worth of prescriptions... some steroids and some antibiotics (gross, I know), I wound up on Abby's eternally warm & cozy esthetician bed. I was eager, of course, to buck the expensive dermatoligist trips, but equally eager to stop putting chemically dangerous products right on my mug. I had no clue what to expect, but Abby made me feel right at home--she's kind, softspoken, and easy to talk with. (Not to mention a goddess at what she does.) Throughout the past year, I have seen Abby once per month. (You get a discount this way that makes it impossible to not keep coming back given the true value of her services.) Needless to say, she has become well acquainted with my skin. She takes the time to write notes down and come up with the best plan for me and my face on each trip. She remembers how my skin looked the last time I visited, and knows if its acting different that she should change up our normal course of action. We each share a common goal: allowing my skin to be and look its best. For the first winter in a very long time, my skin doesn't look like an alligator's. The amount of blemishes I get are scant, if any at all. My pores are still giant because, hey, that's what my genes dictate them to look like, but they aren't nearly as huge and dirty as they used to be. I haven't been to the dermatologist in several months. Go see Abby if you are interested in any of these things! (Or if you just want to feel pampered and have a face as soft as a baby's.) I usually have clear skin, but my forehead had been breaking out terribly for over a month and I could not get my skin to calm down. I went to Abby for a quick facial to target my congestion and she was AMAZING. My skin the next day glowed and everywhere she had to extract some pimples (including a quite large angry one) the skin was smooth, with a few lightly scabbed over as they could finally start to heal. I've never had a facial before today and I can't imagine it gets better than this. I was first lulled into immediate comfort by my surroundings, a quaint cozy candescent lit room accompanied with minimal antique/unique decorum. Which I later expressed gave me the trust in her artistic capabilities when shaping my eyebrows. Everything in the room radiates in white, confirming an easy judgement of cleanliness. I was then impressed by her choice to utilize a warm water pillow, which i'm not sure is common practice but definitely added to my positive experience. Abby's hands were so soft while she was massaging my face, I thought she was using cotton! Her voice is also calm and soothing, she's very careful, delicate and accommodating. I recommend keeping your eyes closed to really feel the enjoyment behind your face while she tantalizes it with all her wonderfully natural scented products. I'm talkin' pumpkin, papaya, mint, roses, even some mixture of several oils that smelled like tamarind. I even learned about an enzyme eating exfoliate to replace my facial scrub which may not be as kind to my skin. Thanks Abby, this facial made for a special day! read more
