I noticed the Artisan Wine Shop and headed in to find that perfect bottle of wine. They have a large selection of expensive and inexpensive wines. I noticed a buy two get one dollar off sign. The white wines were only $8.99 and the red wine was only $9.99 (with one dollar off making it $8.99). So, I got a bottle of white FortyNine North and a red FortyNine North. What is really great, even though they have other stores, is this one has 'online' inventory, so you could make your purchases online, and go pick them up, or have them delivered to your house. Talking to one of the staff members, they say that the online site updates 3-4 times a day, so it is best to call before placing your order, but this is using technology to the fullest. They have more of the wine's you would not see in the other stores, and a selection that is vast. You can also come here for their weekly tastings, and also buy everything geared up to wine, from the decanters, to the openers to the glass wear. A good little walk into this wine haven, and you may be a little empty in the pocket when you are all done, but it will be well worth it.

After a week, we tried to return the wine bottles to the store, as we are used to doing in our home country, Switzerland. The man at the checkout was unpleasant and told us that they do not take bottles back. Fortunately, there was a second staff member--a lady--who did accept the bottles. We voluntarily chose not to take the small refund we were entitled to for the bottles, to show that it wasn't about the money, but about the principle. We will definitely not return to the store.

No, the empty bottles department is closed at 8 PM . why? much too dangerous ??? the employees face the dangers to sale but not to collect..... There was a security agent in the store and outside just next to the door where is the "return" department . But no way to return the empties ... Different system, the manager is really not helpful! And does not have any logical explanation and stays seated behind the desk where you are supposed to receive some help. This possibility to return empties after 8 PM was not indicated anywhere and not on the website either. The manager refused to help. This Liquor store is not very friendly . I went to 39 th and Cambie totally different atmosphere, everybody is helpful there and big surprise they even help you to put your bottles in boxes and wish you a great evening with a smile. I recommend This store. I will avoid from now on to go to Kings gate mall.
