We selected some flooring and Perry gave us samples to take home. He later texted us that those are unavailable, so we found something at Home Depot. We still wanted to give this local store our business, so we went back there for our tiles. Perry wasn't there. We told this other person what happened. His response: "Seriously? You went to Home Depot? People come here FROM there!". We explained about the availability, and got no response. We then picked some tile and asked for pricing. "Sorry, you need to wait for Perry". Wow, these guys were incredible. I walked into the store off the street in total frustration after a horrible experience with Home Depot. Dwight Benson is the MAN. I knew exactly what I wanted for the most part, but he ran me through several variations. He showed up at my house on a Saturday morning, did measurements for free and had a quote for me the following Monday. It was not only competitive, but the overall experience is what impressed me. The flooring contractors showed up the following week and we now have a gorgeous laminate floor through our little bungalow. The installers moved our appliances as well (*brownie points for this. I couldn't move them all by myself with a 11-month old and a 6-year old in tow). Also a huge kudos to the installers. They were great. We had a vinyl kitchen floor removed and new floor squares installed by Austin's Floor Store 13800 N. IH 35. The install team did not use care and significantly damaged the kitchen baseboards when removing the old floor. They did not have a hand truck/dolley to move our refrigerator, although one was needed. Overall the floor looks OK but the damage was unnecessary. read more

We were very careful planning the installation of our floors.we had several quotes and went with the floor store. First, our salesman (Bobby) gave us "deals" he didn't remember. So when we received our first quote for our first option he had to change several things. When we decided to go with another floor and get another quote, I simply asked if the box quantity would be the same. He said no, and did his math again and changed it. When the actual install happened, they were short 5 boxes of flooring. They left our house that night while we were gone and didn't call or anything to let us know that they were unable to finish or let us know we (including our toddler) would have nowhere to sleep since they didn't put any furniture back and left it jammed in random places. That was only the start of the mess. When we called bobby about how upset we were, he blamed us for questioning the box amounts and told us it is our fault they were short. As if we're the professionals?! It's our job to ask questions when spending thousands of dollars. Then blamed us for changing the floors and that was now the problem. We never signed any papers except for 1 floor type. The others were just quotes! All he did was blame blame blame any ridiculous way he could. We wanted to talk to a manager and they said they don't have a manager managing them. So we went there in person where we were given the owners business card. The owner was helpful in letting us know that we would not have to pay for the extra boxes of flooring like bobby said we would (he even tried To negotiate that he would pay half). And since bobby told us we wouldn't be priority when scheduling for them to finish once the floors came in, the owner kindly said we would be. And then a few days later, bobby leaves a Voicemail saying the floor installation team would be here Wednesday between 10 and 11 to finish. He says this and says call him with any questions. I have no questions so I don't call. And no one shows up. I call at 2 and bobby says that he cancelled the team because we didn't call him back. He didn't ask us to! He didn't say to call and confirm! Just to call with any questions. Blamed us again for not calling when we were not told to. Luckily, our floors are pretty (because we spend $5 sq foot). It's just a pretty flooring. The floor guys had no respect for our furniture. The bottom of our dresser (that we bought 1 month ago) is broken out. There is a piece to Something sitting on the dresser. I don't know what to. Perhaps it is to the armoire that sways so bad now that we will have to toss it. Anyway, huge mistake going with Austin floor store. We could have bought that same floor anywhere else. I wish we had because paying someone like the floor store after all this really feels like crap. read more

We were referred to Perry by a friend of my wife. All I can say is thank you. It took a little while for Perry to get us the best product for what we wanted to spend and we'd been told by a competitor that we wouldn't be able to find it at all near requested price. But Perry found it. The 4 man crew came and installed both carpet and luxury vinyl in one day. And best of all was the workmanship. These guys were good. They finished off the luxury vinyl with some quarter round against the baseboards and the corners were crisp and clean. They also colored the ends of it so no raw wood showed. They even hid some speaker wire behind the quarter round for me. We highly recommend them. read more

A few months ago we had planned to get our hardwood flooring done through Home Depot. After a terrible process in getting it set up and picking out flooring, they then ordered the WRONG material for our home. We ended up canceling the entire thing and getting our money back. When we finally decided to start the process over (nervously), we decided to go through a local flooring company instead. We hoped we would find someone who really guided through the process, helped us pick the right flooring, and made us feel comfortable about what they'd be showing up with at our house! We found this and more with Michael at Austin's Floor Store on Burnet Rd. From the moment we started talking to him in store, we felt comfortable. He asked us the right questions about what our home was like, whether we had pets (what kind, how heavy... We have a 100lb german shepard!), kids, etc so he could fully guide us towards the right type of flooring for our household. We had looked at a nearby store that only had hardwood, but felt mislead by the answers they gave us and they were somewhat vague about pricing. Michael was upfront and open about pricing. We fell in love with a waterproof vinyl, and when we found out they also move furniture at no charge, we were sold. Did I mention that after he came to measure our home, the estimate was CHEAPER than Home Depot? (And for MUCH nicer floor material.) The installation was a breeze. Having a very young child, we stayed at an Airbnb during the installation, but to my surprise, Michael notified me a DAY EARLY that the job was done! (I was already impressed that it was going to take only 2 days, as Home Depot said 3-4 days.) The floors look absolutely perfect. We are so happy and relieved to have had such a great experience. I spilled ink on our nearly brand new carpet. The ink seeped through to the pad so even after having the carpet cleaned the ink spot came back. I needed to replace the pad under that area, but couldn't find anyone to sell me just a small section of pad. Enter Austin's Floor Store and Perry. Not only was he able to sell me a small section of pad that matched mine, he did so with all the enthusiasm of a person who was selling $10k worth of product even though the actual cost was $6. I will DEFINITELY be calling Perry when it's time to replace our carpet (which with two cats, a dog and an overgrown child (me) tramping all over it shouldn't be too long. This place is awesome! Just bought a new home and looked everywhere to try and find a good price with a quality product. I loved that when I walked in Bobby was able to not only help me find the exact carpet I was looking for, but he also gave me a direct price per square foot installed, rather than telling me one price for carpet, one for removal, one for install, etc... Bobby came out and did the measurement and even though I was running a little behind he didn't mind waiting. He called me later that day and let me know the total price & I was shocked that it came in about $500 less than anyone else. It's probably because he didn't charge me for every little thing like removal or dump fees, and the fee for the stairs was the lowest I had seen. As we got closer to the install I had to reschedule due to issues with paint & called up and was able to get an appointment for a few days after without having to reschedule for a couple weeks out which was awesome! When the guys came yesterday to install the carpet they were super friendly. I asked him to show me where the seems would be and to please be as careful as possible with the new paint. As soon as they pulled up the old carpet they cleaned up (vacuumed & swept) which was great & they allowed me to spray my own pet odor remover so our dog doesn't go where the old dogs favorite spots were. In the end it looks great & there was minimal damage to the paint that only needs a few touch ups. Bottom line, if you're in the market for some new carpet, go see Bobby and spend less than you would anywhere else in The Austin area. read more

He was not able to match the existing, but as always, he searched his inventory and found smaller quantities that would blend with the existing without breaking my budget.
