I've asked these employees MULTIPLE times to update their voice machine with the correct open/close times in this Covid world...do they? NOPE. So again, I drove here thinking they actually updated any of their online info OR at bare minimum the voice message machine in the salon like I've asked repeatedly. It states online, and on Yelp, AND on their voicemail that they are OPEN on Sundays until 5pm. SURPRISE! They are closed Sundays. Also, one of the girls here put me in a bed for 12 minutes when I asked for 8. I got FRIED right before my vacation. read more

Given my last experience at the San Ramon store, I'd pay extra to tan at the Livermore store. Went in my regular Level 5 bed and got color after only 6m. I had to end the sessions early. Nice job maintaining beds. Place is clean. People make you feel comfortable. It is worth the extra 25m drive that's for sure. read more

I have gone to many tanning salons over the years. Australian Tan is the best! The associates are always super friendly & knowledgeable. I love how they can answer any of my questions regarding all of their many services & products. Cleanliness is important to me & I really appreciate the effort the staff puts into keeping the salon tip top. It's gotta be hard with all of the products being applied in there! Went to buy a tanning package and the clerk locked the door on me as I was trying to open it. Unfortunately they have temporary hours that weren't updated online. So I wasted my time driving 20 minutes to their location. I'm not upset about the adjusted hours, I'm upset that the clerk didn't even acknowledge me and say "sorry were closed". She just locked the door with my hand on the handle and walked away. I'll gladly take my business to down under tanning. read more

Been a Tanner for over 40 years and even used to sell the beds when they first hit the USA and I just had the most informative visit to Australian Tan in Livermore that I have ever had at any tanning salon!! Stacy, asked me why I wasn't using a part of my Tanning package and I explained why and she went on to tell me all about the advantages and how to use my package to get the most out of it for ME and she was EXACTLY RIGHT ON THE MONEY!! The best money spent EVER at any tanning salon! Really disappointed in the new ownership. I used to tan at this location when it was the previous owners about three years ago. They had a great system where you could buy x amount of tans and use them as you please. They didn't expire. So I haven't had any kind of sun in a few years and thought I would call because I knew I had 2 or 3 tans that I hadn't used. I found out it was a new place. I asked the girl if they still honored tans purchased at the previous shop. She said she can try to look it up on their old system and transfer it to tans I could use there. She said the old computer was really slow so she would take down my info and call me back. That never happened. I also asked about what kind of tan packages/cost Australian Tans had. They are strictly membership. So for someone like me who just wants to go in and tan 3-4 times to get some base color, it doesn't work. They want you to sign up for a monthly membership. I asked if I could just buy a few tans. Her response was "well yeah, but it ends up being really expensive." Moral of the story, if you just want a few tans before a vacation or just to get a bit of color, and not a regular weekly tanning, go elsewhere. read more

Not thrilled about this place at all. Beds are nice, people are nice that work here, customer service.... not so good. I signed up for what i thought would be 3 months of tanning, like any other place it would cancel after the 3 months... apparently you have to cancel your membership your self, and you have to send in a card to cancel and cant talk to a live person to cancel. I went into the shop talked to one of the girls working the front desk, she told me that corporate would be able to see that i haven't tanned for about 2 month and they would probably refund me. NOPE. Nothing they could do for me. They said that i signed a contract in the beginning (which yes i did) but i was not told that i had to cancel my own membership. Extremely frustrating. read more

Great tanning salon. They have different "levels" of beds. I bought the level 3 monthly package and was very satisfied. With the level 3 package, you could use any level 3 bed, as well as their level 2 and 1 beds. I guess, the higher level bed that you use, the less you burn. I usually burn when I tan at a salon (even though I start slow) but never burned here so I was very happy about that. I only had to wait in line one or two times there during the 3 months that I had my monthly package for .. Aka they have a ton of beds at this salon! Some of the beds don't have speakers that work so I just played music out of my iPhone. No wifi network available here however. read more

I'm excited to have rejoined Australian Tans! The transition was so easy and quick and that's because of Stacey. She's professional and knowledgeable. I find that to be refreshing. So "thank you, Stacey" It's important that the beds are cleaned and sanitized after each use. After tanning for more than 10 years, I have to say this is the cleanest salon I've experienced! If I could I would give a lower rate to this place I would. First of all, Jennifer was very nice. The place however sucks, the manager Jason, I can't even find words. I asked them if I could use the YELP coupon on the package they had, they said yes and after 45 minutes they changed their minds. I was there for 45 minutes without getting a tan or a membership. Well I just seen their yelp so I decided to go check it out. Well I had such a great experience and really felt welcomed by Taylor. So I signed up for their monthly passport deal! Taylor was really helpful and had lots of good tips for me being a first time Tanner. She was very nice, friendly and professional. The lady at the front desk needs to work on her customer service. I came in with a 20$ for 50$ voucher and she initially stated that I couldn't use it because I wasn't a "new customer." I had only tanned there once mind you, and the two ladies that were there the first time had GREAT customer service. Wish they were there instead. I had to ask the lady to call whoever was in charge to confirm that this voucher was valid. Other then that I liked the tanning beds and versa spa is awesome. Only needed to go for a few visits to get ready for a trip to Mexico and they were helpful explaining the process and what to expect. After the visits I sent the form in to cancel with them and there was some confusion about the timing of cancellation but upon speaking to their corporate office the lady I spoke to was super helpful and resolved the issue right away. read more

Recently started a membership here to prep for a Hawaiian vacation. Last time I tanned here was over 2 years ago under the previous ownership and it was for the same reason. I was surprised to see it under new ownership but it looked nice so my husband and I both joined. Love it! Very nice beds, lots of options and it is kept so clean. We especially like the staff, they are all great; friendly and very helpful. I have to make special mention of Jennifer-she is exceptionally friendly and takes time to get to know how the tanning is going, and pays extra attention to give suggestions. She is great! Finally thought maybe this is the end of it once they reimbursed me in September for 4 months of bs charges that I didn't authorize given that I canceled it sometime ago, but I guess someone has my card number and is just loving it because low and behold January later and guess who snuck back in my bank statements. Love the Versa Spa spray tan! Since I can't find one close to me, I drive over an hour away just to spray tan here...crazy yes, but if you knew the difference in the quality of Versa Spa to a nasty Mystic Tan, you'd make the trip....to me it's worth it! Also, the staff is A+ friendly. read more

Staff is always super friendly and helpful and if you are lucky enough to be there when Stacey is working she is extra special. :). Love the tanning beds with the low UVB rays but the VersaSpa Spray Booth is AWESOME! Never ever orange and it fades away nice and naturally. I've used others like Mystic and this is by far the best. This booth has given me a quality spray tan every bit as good as any personal airbrush tan I've ever had. Personal airbrush is not offered at any of the locations I have been to so I can't compare to any airbrush work done by Australian Tan. I'm liking that the Livermore location has started the move toward being more of a full service salon with the addition of the red light therapy bed, massage chair and the infrared wellness pod. They have teeth whitening as well but that is not a service I would be likely to use. My membership price is super reasonable especially since I do use a lot of the services often. My only wish would be that they would get at least one more of the higher quality Level 5 beds. I used one at their Sunnyvale location that I loved so much but haven't seen at either San Ramon or Livermore. All in all very happy though! read more

Groupon Buyers beware! They had a deal $24.95 for a month unlimited using any tanning bed which is unheard of. I purchased the voucher for my son Zack and drove from Pleasanton to Livermore which is a good 25 minute drive. They asked for his ID. I explained he didn't have his driver's license or permit yet. He had his highschool ID in his wallet and showed it to them. Well that wasn't good enough!!! It's a tanning salon not a bar. They wanted his birth certificate! I told them I could bring in a copy at his next session but we drove all the way over there and could we tan since he is old enough. Asked for a refund for the $24.95 and was refused stating they have nothing to do with Groupon. I'm very disappointed. My son has severe acne and his dermatologist uses a stand up bed in his office but charges a large fee for each session, so thought I had found a great deal and could save him some money but they refused to let him go. read more

I had not been in for several months and was not aware I had so much more product I wasn't using... she showed me the "Pod", Red Light Therapy and let me use her lotion ta boot!!!
