From the moment you enter the establishment you are welcomed warmly by the owners and staff. Since it was our first time visiting they beckoned us to the back, where the "buffet" selections were and explained their system. Customer gets an entree, carb and 3 fried plantain chips in a to go container. It's mostly a takeaway but in-house dining is available with seating in the front. We were also allowed to sample a spoonful before buying. I tried the potato leaf stew and loved it. Ordered it with coconut fried rice. We were given a huge portion. I'll The stew was spicy and savory, with tendered cooked leaves and braised meat (goat) chunks. The rice had vegetables and coconut tones. I also ordered a ginger drink to accompany the meal. Everything was amazing. My companion loved this spinach egusi stew. Made sure we told the staff we enjoyed everything before we left. read more

Took one hour and half to fill my order when they had said it would take 20 mins, My order was misfilled- items missing. waitress surly and rude when I complained. She charged me extra to correct the mistake- and went off on me when I protested. She told her colleague loudly so that all the patrons could hear, to call the police if I ever went there again!- not asking me to leave mark you- but when I come back. wierd cant even begin to describe it. I got home and found even more items missing from my order. I called the restaurant to talk to a supervisor- they said they would call back. They never did. It is certain I would not step there again and if you like good service with your meal in a quiet environment without drama- I would recommend you consider other options. Called to place an order for pick up and was informed to order once on-site. Ambiance is nice and clean with light decor. First, this is a Ghanaian restaurant. I will begin with the jolloff rice, very dry and clumpy, it didn't taste good at all. Think of rice, tomato sauce and paste that's it, no flavor or seasoning. The jerk chicken is oven made in a jerk sauce, it was passable but could've tasted better. The plantains were good. I may give this restaurant a second chance but order different dishes. read more

We were so excited to finally try this new restaurant in have been waiting for them to open up. We walked in and the owners were so welcoming. It was our first time trying African food, and they were so kindly explaining everything to us. They shared that this restaurant is more of a grab and go kind of restaurant. They have a few tables inside to sit and enjoy the meal. They have a buffet style entrée where you can get a protein, rice or swallow and decide. We decided to just get two entrées. First off the goat curry was absolutely delicious. The goat meat was tender, and the stew was so flavorful. I honestly can't stop thinking about it. I was most excited to try the fufu. We got the pounded yam and the plantain fufu. I personally preferred the pounded yam because it had more of a bite to it. The combination of the pounded yam and the goats stew was immaculate. The jollof was really flavorful and also paired really well with the stew. My only thing is that the rice was really dry and some of the clumped up into hard balls. It could also be because we went later in the night. Overall, I really enjoyed the food here. And I'm excited to go back and try out the other dishes. read more

Wow! This place is phenomenal in a variety of ways. The food is exceptional and I am always excited to try flavors that are new to me. We got the whole tilapia--actually, we got a second because it was so flavorful--as well as the fried fish that was cut up. The fried fish was crispy and tender but, since it was fried, not as moist as the whole tilapia (still yummy). We also got turkey tail and chicken. I don't eat poultry so I can't speak to it but I am told they were delicious. We got a second serving of chicken as well. I really liked the spinach side and the cassava side. We tried all of the rices; the jollof rice was a little spicy but very flavorful, the rice and beans also good and not spicy, and the standout was the coconut rice. I could have just had that coconut rice for my entire meal and I would have been happy. Fufu was great, as were the plantains! Some dishes are a bit spicy but nothing we couldn't handle, though maybe a little too spicy for little kids. Portions were huge and fairly priced. We got 5 plates for 8 people and went home with a ton of leftovers we are looking forward to eating at home. We probably would have been fine with 3 plates but we were greedy and wanted to try everything (and get repeats of what we liked). There's a lot we missed but we will certainly visit again. The dishes are all in the buffet in the back so you can see what you are getting (I much prefer this to guessing based on a menu description or going to Yelp for pictures). Service is attentive, patient, and, frankly, educational! The server was very helpful in explaining what was in each dish, and went the extra mile by explaining which dishes were Ghanaian or Nigerian. The server was also very patient when I asked how to eat certain dishes and with what sauces, how to eat the fufu, etc. We've been waiting for this place to open for a long time and we are grateful it is finally here! This is my first time having these dishes, so I am admittedly not the best judge of the food quality, that being said, I found what I tried delicious. The staff was incredibly friendly. They took the time to explain all of the dishes available and were very helpful. I am unaware of any African restaurants in the immediate area, so I would definitely give this place a try if you are like me and want delicious food that is different from your everyday fare. read more
