    Case of Starters

This was our first visit to this restaurant; however, they have been around for 20 years. We didn't know what to order, so the gentleman was very helpful. In our usual first-time visit style, we over ordered to get a good variety. We ordered several starters: Bofrot (donut) - too heavy for me. Beef patty - definitely one of the best beef patties. Plenty of beef. Chicken patty - very tasty Beef Suya khebab - a definite yes! I can't describe the spices, but it's good. Fufu Chicken Stew - I liked the Chicken Stew but not so much the fufu. It's the texture thing. Lol. Jerk Chicken with Jollof rice - a definite yes. Waakye (rice and beans)- delicious Plantain - solid Overall, a great experience. Friendly staff. Great food.

Spinach stew with fufu / jerk chicken and jollof rice

Came here for dinner, tried all of the popular dishes, and loved it! My favorite was the spinach/tomato/beef stew with fufu. The employees were super nice and helpful, and the ambiance was cool. We'll definitely be coming back!

Red Snapper (Baked) with Jollof Rice (Side Order)

Came in on a Sunday and ordered baked snapper, jollof rice and plantain. Sauce for the fish was on side as requested. Food was extremely fresh with great flavor. The portion was huge, a good size for what i was charged. Gentleman taking order was very nice, definitely will return.

Cooked Or Fried Cassava With Fish

I've never ate cassava leaves from a restaurant before but I must admit that I wasn't disappointed. It was well cooked. The leaves were a little bit too purreed for me because I like it a bit leafy so I can chew but overall not bad. They have a big menu so a lot of options to choose from. Update 1: The okra stew is good...the spinach/egusi tasted burnt. I asked for goat and chicken for the okra and they only gave me chicken. Don't take my order down and pretend like i am about to have it my way just for you to make the final decision in the kitchen. Confused

    Came to pick up chichinga!

I've been coming to this restaurant since it first opened in the early 2000s. Before my parents went back home to Ghana, we would come here when my mother didn't feel like cooking. I almost always stuck to the chichinga and bofrot or puff puff. Both the chichinga and bofrot are like a warm hug of familiarity. The staff is so friendly. I recently dropped in for some of the popular Ghanaian street food mentioned above, but I also was able to get a couple of bracelets with my horoscope sign and my name for the day that I was born (Abena). Give them a try, you won't regret it!

    Ox tail jamaican style
    Natalie M.

Got delivery from this place. The ox tail was delicious but I didn't realize it would be spicy. The flavor was amazing. The peanut soup want spicy so it balanelced it out. It came with fufu but I'm not a fan of it. The soup was awesome. It had more flavor than just creamy peanuts. The meat was soft and almost fall off the bone.

    Fufu

I was very excited to try Fufu for the first time. It was a horrible experience. There was a bug in the fufu.

    Casssava leaf with white rice

Big portion size and tasted great! Friendly service too. I wish there was more pepper in the cassava leaf, I couldn't taste any.

Only available weekends and holidays! Ohmotuo (not sure the spelling...)

Needs improvement on customer service. They don't make new comers feel welcome at all.

We came here on a Thursday night so maybe that's why everything didn't slap as much as I would've liked. The jollof didn't have a ton of flavor or spice, but they have tomato based pepper sauce a medium and an extra hot that adds flavor and spice to the rice. The meat and chicken was a bit dry and hard. The fish wasn't seasoned much. The portions are big and customer service was kind. They had a fairly big menu. We ordered: Suya rice 8/10 (best thing here to me) Attike w/fish 6/10 Jollof rice with chicken and beef 6/10

The food is Ghanaian so you'll find a lot of west African staples here. I ordered their Suya rice with chicken and beef. My wife ordered the acheke with fried fish and ordered a plate of jollof to take home. The suya fried rice was my favorite dish. It's one of their own creations but it's a fried rice with suya spice in it. It's not as spicy as I personally like, but I'm a huge fan of spice so I imagine it's a good level for most people. The jollof was also pretty good. I'll say that the chicken and beef in both the jollof and suya fried rice were a little dry, but they had good flavor to them so it can be overlooked. The acheke was standard for what I expect from it. The fried fish could have used a little bit of seasoning but was fine to go with it. Food took about 20 mins to be cooked but I appreciate that it's done fresh. The service was great! Kevin was the one who took our order and helped us with any additional requests while we ate. Definitely love the soul he adds to the restaurant. The ambiance is pretty casual. The one thing to note is that the parking lot can be a bit small so parking may take more than one try if you have a bigger car.

Authentic Nigerian Food right in White Oak…read more Jollof Etcetera is a Nigerian establishment located in many locations in Maryland. The white oak location is the newest one. I forgot to take pictures (forgive me) but my family and I decided to go there to celebrate my father in love, Father's Day. Our waiter Victor was very nice and friendly as he took his time to answer our questions and also tell us what was available and unavailable due to supply issues. The restaurant itself is beautiful with modern granite tables grey comfort seats and can accommodate large parties. We ordered jollof, amala, efo riro, and ogbono My wife claimed that this was the best amala she's had as her father indicated that the efo was delicious too. I tried ogbono for the first time and It was pretty good. It's an acquired taste however I got used to It the more I ate It. Mine had assorted goat meat which was tender and seasoned well. We also had some puff puff as appetizers and I had zobo as my drink. The zobo was bland and there were slight hints of ginger and sugar. As a Ghanaian It did not satisfy my sobolo craving. Overall we were content and would return again, hopefully this time they have cassava leaf available

I was excited to try this place out as I haven't had Senegalese food before!…read more I ordered the okra soup and the ginger juice. The juice was great, the ginger tasted of great quality and was very spicy, but was mellowed by the pineapple. They sell other juices in bottles at the counter as well. The food on the other hand was a little disappointing. The okra soup came with rice, the soup, and a small dish of pepper sauce. The rice was very hard and dry, which made it difficult to chew. The flavor of the soup was okay, but there was a lot of bone fragments and a thick layer of oil on top, which I wasn't a fan of. The pepper sauce was very good though, it was extremely spicy and had an addicting flavor. If they sold a jar of it, I would buy it. If I came again, I would try their other juices, but probably skip the food.
