I have been to Oasis a countless amount of times. They never disappoint. I made a take out order of ox tails with rice and peas and cabbage. The oxtails were very tender and full of mean. Very seasoned. The rice and beans were cooked to perfection along with the cabbage which was very flavorful. The service was great. The hostess was able to take my order and I received my food within 5 minutes as they were about to close. The ambiance was nice as always. No music this time as they were about to close. I bought the BBQ wings with cabbage and creamy spinach---paid $22(rounded up). The chicken was sooooo hard. These people are know for selling left over foods and reheating them over and over. You can tell that the chicken was stale---even when you bit into it, the meat was not soft. This was complete waste of my money. They cannot cook and if they can, they do not care about quality. The cabbage was ok and the creamy spinach had a good flavor. I am a Caribbean person and know what good Jamaican foods and good foods in general taste like, but this was complete trash!!! I literally had to throw it out. But the kicker was that they drowned the chicken in the BBQ sauce as if that was going to hide the staleness and hardness. This is a cozy spot with good food and even better drinks. On Fridays they have a DJ that plays some great music. I recommend the Island Martini and Oasis Margarita. Those are so tasty. I ordered carry out and it only to like 15minutes for the food to come. They have these cute Jell-O shots so I sat and had one while I waited for my food which was nice. It was clean and wasn't busy at the time , so I looked around and obviously took pictures. When the food came out it was hot and perfect I didn't want to wait until I got home so I opened and tried it. I asked the lady who took my order to make the curry light since I don't really like it. It came out perfect, so good. The only dissatisfaction was the Mac and cheese. It didn't taste like there was any cheese which is weird. That's why I rated 4 stars Aside from that totally recommend! So I was in the area and decided to stop by this place I was starving and I love island food so wanted to see what they had to offer. Well it did not disappoint me There was a young lady who served me she provided good customer service which is hard to find now days. She was patient and helpful I was indecisive on what I wanted I only eat seafood and they had great options. I ended up ordering the jerk shrimp and salmon. Island Pride's Oasis claims to have the most authentic Jamaican food in the area, they are right. I have been lucky to enjoy Jamaican food in Kingston. After eating the oxtails here I almost starting speaking Patwa. The oxtails are described as melting off the bone in a rich stew with beans, carrots, bell peppers, and onions. The flavor they develop in this stew is amazing, so rich and bold. Now the oxtails are a bit expensive, the dinner is about $17 but so worth it and it includes one side. I got the creamed spinach as a side and paid extra for a side of greens. I loved the cream spinach, my mouth is watering writing this review. I also ordered a few beef patties only $2.50 each, very well seasoned and flaky. This is a low key/ hole in the wall place, there are no more than ten tables throughout the restaurant. Most people typically order to-go, so don't expect 5-star service but in general, staff are pleasant. They have a catering service and a party room available as well. read more

My guest had the goat roti, full of flavor , extra sauce was given on the side . If you are not familiar with roti , the best comparison would be a burrito . It was packed with goat meat and other goodies , it's a meal in itself and doesn't come with sides . Their goat is better than the ox tail. The ox tail barely has ANY MEAT on the bone. They shouldn't charge that much for oxtail as their is nothing but bone and fat. The goat? I walked in and placed my order and waited for a short while before my food was brought to me. I ordered the jerk chicken with collard greens and Mac and cheese, a beef patty and coco bread. The beef patty and coco bread were standard yet the best tasting items from my entire order. The jerk chicken was unlike anything I'd ever had before and not in a good way. It was flavorless, yet had an unappetizing taste/appearance at the same time. The Mac and cheese was also flavorless and reminiscent of something that came from a box. The greens were also flavorless and tasted like greens from a can. Soooooo disappointed in my experience and that I paid close to $30 including tip. This is the very first time we visited this establishment. Everything we ordered was cook to perfection and had the perfect blend of spice. It gives you a kick but you can still taste the food. We got jerk wings, jerk shrimp and baffulo shrimp to start. No complaints there. For the entrees, we got curry shrimp and curry chicken. Unfortunately our only complaint is the service. Not all the service but just our waitress. She was not attentive and we have to ask for things multiple times. After asking her for the check multiple times, we had to ask another waitress if we can get our check. Then the second waitress came back and told us that our waitress told her to tell us to go up to the stand to get the check and pay for it. I was turned off by that. Those were some of the worse collards greens I have ever tasted. They need to improve their customer service. Tables need to be wiped down before customers are seated and utensils deliver when customers get to their table. I go here regularly for good Jamaican carry out. I love their seafood dishes especially the fried Red Snapper. The jerk wings are pretty good too. I should have listened to the reviews. My MAIN reason for ordering was to get the coco bread and it was DISGUSTING. It was warm and hard, which was weird and it tasted like it was frost bitten/stale and they just threw it in the microwave to heat up.
