I also specifically requested a boiler tune up since I was unsure when it had been done last - having moved into the house within a couple of years. I was impressed because he responded quickly. We set up an appt for 11/1 so he could come out and take a look. He came over 8 AM the morning of 11/1, tried to light the boiler, diagnosed it as needing a new thermocouple (which is usually done on a tune-up as I had requested), then had to "go get parts". Hu? Why would you not have a thermocouple with you? Okay, he goes to the local hardware store and calls me to say neither they nor tractor Supply have it. He will continue looking. at 1:30 PM I call to see if there is progress - nope, he went to another job (which I get, really I do). Later he left me a message that he would need to get ahold of the mfg to see if they could find parts. 11 days later, I hadn't heard from him, so I texted to see if he had any progress. Crickets, more crickets, and even more crickets. The sad part is that he is recommended by Peerless (the mfg of my boiler), and a home improvement website. But I had to call someone else out to fix my boiler (and that guy had a thermocouple on him, which was all it needed). I gave him 1 star for responding to my request and the second star because he actually did make it to my place and it was on time.

Brad and his team, working diligently and efficiently removed the remains of the varmints and sealed off their various entryways -- even over the uneven granite slabs in the basement. Since we are new to the house, I can't compare heating bills to give a percentage reduction, but the home is now warm and snug in the cold and the scampering of little feet behind the walls is gone. From cabinets, counters and appliances, we renovated just about everything we could see. The floor was question for us at the start. The tiles were neutral and not in terrible shape. But there were several chipped tiles, a few broken ones, and a few that needed to be replaced because of exposed flooring in the new layout. Our grout was also broken in some spots. I did, however, have a box of 16 original tiles that the previous installer left 15 years ago. The cost to remove a tile floor is as much, if not more, than to have new tile installed fresh. We talked to a few people about our options and we got many referrals to Hard Surface Solutions. I talked to him in he phone a bit about our project and he came over a few days later. He gave me a price and showed me pictures of his previous project. The price was very reasonable. The pictures, before and after, were very impressive. So we hired him and he agreed to start about 3 week later. First he cleaned my tiles with some high pressure steam clean machine. He cleaned the tiles like they were out of the box. In fact I could not believe when I saw the first few tiles. They made my existing tiles look so dingy. After that he worked on the tiles. He replaced several with the box I gave him. Then he fixed some cracks and chips on tiles that were still my existing floor. After that he worked on our grout. He changed our dark, discolored gray grout and make it dull white like my wife had requested. The grout came out perfect and it is very consistent along the entire floor. The whole floor looks new. It took 2 days. He finished the grout with some epoxy that is water proof, easy to clean and lasts for many years. I have the floor for 6 months now so I can not comment about the longevity, but my 15 year old, beaten floor looks new again and it is the perfect complement to my new kitchen

He arrived promptly to give me the estimate, and I told him we would like to go ahead get the work done. First, he told me he would be here on Thursday and it would be a 1 day job. On Thursday, late in the morning, I called him and asked him where he was. He told me we had an appointment for Wednesday (the day before), but his other job ran late. I didn't ask him why, if that was true, he didn't call me on Wednesday and tell me he wasn't coming. Anyhow, at that point he told me he would be there on Friday (the next day). On Friday he called me and told me he couldn't make it because he "had to take his wife shopping and forgot about the plans they already made together". He told me he would come on the next Tuesday. So, on Tuesday he didn't show up. In late morning I called him and asked him where he was. He told me the forecast was calling for rain later in the day, so he could either come and do the inside stuff today (Tuesday), and finish the job on Friday, OR he could come on Friday get the job done or finish it on Saturday. I told him to come today and get started because he already postponed on us a few times and he has our deposit. He arrives later in the day and removes the old chimney liner. He dragged our wood stove onto our hardwood floor with a piece of plywood under it, by HIMSELF. So you can imagine the scratches on my nice wood floor. He leaves all the crap from my chimney in my garage and leaves a total mess! And says he will be back on Friday. On Friday I sit and wait for him. At 11:00 he is a no show so I call him and leave him a message. At 12:30 I call him again and finally get through to him. I ask him where he is and he tells me he needed to order a part and it should be here in 5 days or so. I compose myself and ask him politely and professionally why he didn't let me know that, because I had to take a day off of work to wait for him. His answer is "I don't know what to tell you, maybe you should just find someone else to do the work". So here I am, with a mess in my living room, a mess in my garage, a 600 lbs wood stove in the middle of my hardwood floor, and he still has my deposit. Not to mention he wasted 3+ weeks of my time so there is probably no possible way for me to get this thing repaired the right way this winter. My suggestion is to stay as far away from this company as possible. ***** UPDATE 9/25/17 ***** I see the owner of the company finally replied to my review 2 years after I wrote it. It is quite an amusing story but almost nothing he is talking about is true. I honestly think he has confused me with another customer that he has screwed over. He doesn't even have my name correct. Not even close. First of all, there was NO refund. That is a blatant lie. I never asked for a refund after he walked off the job. He certainly didn't send any sort of a refund. I will admit that my stove pipe and lining was in rough shape. But that is why I called him. Not too sure why this is such a surprise to him. I was the one who hired him so I don't understand where he thinks I was upset with my wife for her ordering the service. Again, he is obviously confusing me with another customer that is not happy with him. I was very professional and pleasant with him. But I did tell him I was not happy that he quoted us for a 1 day job and it was incomplete after 2 weeks before he walked off. I can understand reasonable delays but this guy would continue to schedule us and then not show up. I have a full time job, and so does my wife. If I take a day off (or several) to be home because he has scheduled us, and then he doesn't show up or call, that is an issue to me and I don't mind telling him that in a professional manor. HE was the one who was unprofessional and unreliable. He left a mess in my house, dirty pipes and crap in my garage (that he was supposed to dispose of), and major scratches in my hardwood floor. Anyone in Yelp land can read all the reviews and make up their own mind. I have no reason to lie. I got nothing out of this deal but a waste of time, money and a mess to clean up. In the end I had to hire another contractor to finish the job and he did an outstanding job.

Not where it had been machine spread. And then a 3' crack developed in the driveway. Not a heave, just a separation. I called a couple times with no response. Neighbors drives installed about the same time do not have dimples or cracks. I'm not sure why the install has issues and it's terrible that they do not back their work.
