Dr. Ren is a fantastic, empathetic, and efficient acupuncturist. I have been seeing her since Oct. '22 which was my first time trying acupunture. I started seeing her weekly for agonizing shoulder pain that I had been experiencing many years without long-term relief with massage and other methods. After only a couple of weeks, the pain lessened, and now it is fully manageable. I continue to see her once a month simply because I find acupuncture relaxing. She is always thoughtful, she asks what might be bothering me at the time and adjusts accordingly. She has never used any methods without first discussing them with me, explaining what it is and how it works, and ensuring I am comfortable with it. I started seeing Dr. Ren pre-Covid for about a year or so for auto-immune condition and related ergonomic issues related to working at an office job based on a referral from a friend who highly recommended her. I often ask for recommendations for everything I may need whether it is a new doctor, dentist, plumber etc because it is actually coming from someone who has seen/visited/used the service in question! Dr. Ren is very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. She asks what my concerns are, explains what is happening and tried hard to resolve my issues. She has performed cupping on my back to help with the aches and inflammation. She also hits the trigger points for stress which we all have. Often I doze on and off on the table. I had stopped going during Covid but started to see her again for some new chronic pain. She is really focused on trying to alleviate my pain so really appreciate it. This last visit, I can actually feel a release of some of the tightness that is occurring so I hope it continues to diminish as each visit goes! Understand for those who are new to acupuncture, it is not a quick fix. It does take time for treatments to help. BTW I just check the medical school (Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine) this provider graduated from was like a community college here in the United States. Dr.Ren is a truly a professional. She relieved my nerve pain on my face within just a few sessions and I can see the results within a few days. Through my health insurance referrals, I called a couple other places first in Bellevue, but they all require initial consultation fee of $200 or $150, which I think is ridiculous. I went to see Dr. Ren for my facial nerve related problem. I was diagnosed to have a mild Bell's Palsy on my right side face, and my Primary Care doctor told me it will take a few week to recover. I learned that acupuncture is the best choice to heal Bell's Palsy quickly and safely. So my friend recommended me to see Dr. Ren, who he gave a very high recommendation. I usually don't write Yelp reviews because I have my own blog. But Dr. Ren has helped me so much for my general health that I feel I should help spread the word. I made my initial visit after my neurologist recommended acupuncture for my behind-the-ear nerve pain (not inside the ear, but on the head) and stress relief. Dr. Ren is one of the providers closest to where I live. I had little prior acupuncture experience, even though I am Chinese, and I didn't know what to expect. I filled out a very detailed questionnaire and Dr. Ren went into action addressing them right away, explaining to me how all these "points" on your body are connected to internal organs. I particularly appreciate that she was upfront about the incremental process it takes for it to work. I don't like needles in general (who does?) but there's virtually no discomfort when the needles (they are extremely thin) are inserted or pulled out. There's an initial "build-up" period (for me, it's about 4 weeks with 1 visit per week). After which I started to feel improvements to my nerve pain and better relaxation to my body. In fact, after my every visit now, I feel extremely refreshed. I will continue to make regular visits in the near future. I have been recommending Dr. Ren to my friends. Even if you are afraid of needles (trust me, it's not scary at all), the pain relief and improvement to your general health is so worth it! read more

If you are reading this, you should schedule an appointment with Dr. Ren immediately. She gave me my life back after years or disabling chronic pain. I recommend going to her for literally anything. For example, she can near-instantly cure colds (by removing barriers to your own body effectively fighting off the viruses). Two notes: 1. Some acupuncturists might aim for patients "feeling nothing" because Americans are unfamiliar with the treatment and afraid of needles. However, the best results come from having some treatment sensations. Dr. Ren is masterful at identifying the exact state of dysfunctional tissue with her needles and administering healing stimulation. Don't be turned off by these sensations; they are exactly what you want. 2. In my case, I had serious co-morbidities that created destructive feedback loops. As a result, my nerves and nervous system were so sensitized that it took weeks of conservatively treating my chronic pain indirectly before I could handle direct needle work. So, if you have similar serious problems and a Dr. Ren treatment ever seems like too much, just go back and tell her what you experienced and she'll dial treatment back a few degrees of conservatism until you are ready for more. read more

I was looking for an acupuncturist and happened to find Authentic Chinese Acupuncture. Dr. Ren is the real thing. I had been in a car accident and my back was in bad shape and hurt really bad, it did not take long for her to get rid of the pain. I had my son come as well and his pain is gone. She is very through, she checks your tongue, pulse, blood pressure, and talks with you to find out what is bothering you and begins. My back pain is gone and now I come for well being, it is the best hour of the day when I come, just as good as a day at the spa. I often go to sleep. She also does treatments for seasonal prevention which I also utilize as well. She is awesome, you won't be sorry. I recommend her all of the time to friends and family. read more

I sought Dr. Ren out because I had been diagnosed with sleep apnea, and from my previous experience with acupuncture I supposed that it would help. The neurologist at the sleep center told me that studies show that acupuncture helps with several sleep disorders, but apnea is not among them. Dr. Ren proposed to treat me for my overall health. Over a period of several months, I have experienced numerous benefits: better balance, increased stamina, less fatigue, reduced pain and a more positive mental outlook. Of course I have also been using a CPAP machine for the apnea, and pursuing a self-designed meditation program to lower my blood pressure. I feel much better. I realize my assessment of the success of this treatment is somewhat subjective, but treatments always go better if you believe they are going to work!. For more than 10 years, I suffered from two main spinal issues, from the neck down to the base of the spine. The first was an old chronic injury where I dislocated two vertebrae - one in my neck and one between my shoulder blades. I had received Osteopathic treatment in conjunction with physical therapy for 8 weeks (3x a week). And while that did help, I was still left with pain and was left with easily re-injuring my spine if I wasn't careful lifting with my arms. This lasted for 8 years. I would regularly get massage and chiropractic work done, as it would resurface every 8-12 months. After just four sessions with Dr. Ren, my neck and middle spine have been problem free for six years now. The second chronic condition I had was my lower back would 'go out' on an almost annual basis over a period of 10 years. I, again, had used chiropractic, massage and physical therapy and it would help, but within a year it would occur again, and leave me laid up in excruciating pain, not able to walk or even look down for 3-5 days while it subsided. After seeing Dr. Ren during one of the episodes, it took 5 sessions over two months, and that annually recurring episode has not come back in the last 5 years.
