When they call a bookstore "Simply Books" they really mean it in this airport shop…read more There are real, honest, hold-them-in-your-hand and physically turn-a-page books. There is no music, no audio books, no magazines, no cords, accessories, or earphones (those are in the shop next door), but they do have reading glasses and a few small stuffed animal toys for the kids. What you will find are hardcover and paperbacks in many genres in current or recent titles and a section of classics. It's not a big store, but doesn't need to be when you aren't selling trinkets. The children's and YA sections are well-stocked so good for them for promoting reading for all ages. If you either finished or forgot your book and have a long enough layover to get to the F terminal, this should be a stop. As much as I like the B&Ns of this world, I really appreciate a bookstore that doesn't need all the marketing extras. Simply Books is simply a bookstore. Good for them.

It's a used bookstore with more than 40,000 books; so prepare to spend at least an hour (if not an afternoon) perusing the bookshelves. It's easy to get lost in the stacks here, as there are LOTS of hallways and a labyrinth of rooms. There is a room for small gatherings, a rare book room, and an alcove to tuck away with a book. One window in the store has a bit of nostalgia as it overlooks Bob Dylan's old apartment (and is now the Loring Bar). If you love a used bookstore and a historic site, this place is worth a visit.

My issue was that the worker was overly attempting to make conversations with customers and then they charged a "hospitality fee". WHAT IN THE GOOD GRACES! Unbelievable. For such a cool place that is a ridiculous stance from their management to impose on unsuspecting customers. The bag wasn't cheap and their fee is unjustified.

That made me laugh. Even for a small bookstore, it does have a wide selection of genres to choose from. They also sell coloring/art supplies as well as gifts like knick knacks and magnets. I got a magnet saying I love banned books, which I do. Great little place, and an excellent store if you need a book and are stuck in MSP airport.

A little bummed because I was seeking a book recommendation. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that the bookstore was also subject to the hospitality charge so my book ended up being more expensive than anticipated and that I could find elsewhere. I might choose to purchase a book on-the-way to the airport next time instead of my usual in-the-airport tradition.
