Books and coffee?! YES PLEASE! What a perfect addition to add to northeast. I loved how bright and open it was. The coffee was absolutely delightful and their book selection was top tier. This bookstore will definitely be in my rotation.

Attended an event and it's a very cute bookstore. They have a wide variety of books and some from Minnesota authors. It's also a coffee shop and the chai there is really good.

    Yes! Open Sunday.

Another unique coffee shop and in the coolest part of town, or one of them. You'll have to decide if this is a bookstore with a coffee bar or a full coffee shop that sells books and allows browsing. Ok it's all that, as well as welcoming with a great medium roast that holds up well with the oat milk shot. The only eats are the pastry selection which look creative and hardy. Be advised the pastry bin was mostly sold out before noon on Sunday. I did try a nutty croissant which was crusty with moist packing. This is a quiet oasis with some cushy furniture where a small group was discussing books and no one had their device out! Where do we ever see that? Higher quality products and a bit pricey. Parking on side streets. Dog friendly, although I did not see the 'company dog', but there was a Fido on the floor napping next to his seated owner.

My third time in here and it's such a lovely spot! It's so bright and the perfect place to peruse on a sunny weekend day. I LOVE that they have a coffee shop inside the bookstore. Is there anything better than perusing books with a hot bevvy in hand? I love that they use local Chiya Chai because it's not sweet: it's true chai spices, highly recommend. My brother got a seasonal latte that was delish too. The service here is top notch: friendly, and lovely at the cafe and bookshop checkout counter. They helped us look for a book that was out of stock and got us signed up for their rewards. I really like the organization of the bookstore space and the aesthetics of the display. They have some notes on authors picks throughout as well. It's a lot of books without feeling overwhelming! They have hilarious free bookmarks too. Walked out with three books this time and will be back for more.

I'm not sure which I like better, a serene and erudite bookstore with a proper Euro style coffee shop; or a good coffee place with a wonderful bookstore. I really came here for a cappuccino and it was almost perfect. It became perfect when I found just the right book to sip with and the comfortable chair by sunny windows here in the same location. Staffed by young thoughtful intelligent women, that part might frighten some, so I really can't suggest this place to everyone. I do highly recommend Inkwell to thinkers, readers, and coffee lovers and especially those who fall into all three categories. They post Polaroids of all their canine visitors but they said they don't get feline customers. I suppose my cats wouldn't like coming here, but they do stock a number of gifts cat lovers would appreciate.

Love this place! Such a beautiful location with tons of windows and very open layout. They have a great selection of books and an awesome coffee shop. I got a pistachio latte with oat milk and it was perfect while I shopped around for books. There's a good wide variety of book options without feeling cluttered and some spots to hang out and read and have a coffee. The staff there is super nice and easy to talk to and make it a great experience!

Very cozy space to enjoy a drink and the company of the resident dog, Captain Jack. Free wifi and plenty of outlets make it a good space to get work done as well.

Went in for a latte during the soft opening (hazelnut, was delicious) and loved seeing more of the books on the shelves, the cute shirts, stickers, totes, pens and slate section markers. It's really coming along! Such a great space. Looking forward to going back for the Grand Opening on 2/22/25!

Stopped in for the grand opening and the place was packed! Luckily there's nearby street parking, I was able to park out front which was a total time saver. I love a good locally owned book store and Inkwell is no exception. I'm clearly not the only one because this place was packed the entire time I was there. There are still some tweaks that they need to work out, for example, most of the signs showing different genres were posted notes. I assume that is all a work in progress so I won't judge them for that. There are SO many books I want to buy here, and with open bookshelves still I know there will be even more. It seems like there's a book for everyone here and there's no way you can't find a gem to bring home. There's a little cafe inside- my friend ordered the pistachio drink and loved it- we highly recommend checking it out. Stop by if you're in the area and support a local store!

Super cute bookstore with cafe inside of it and places to sit. The staff at the coffee shop were so friendly and welcoming. The interior was modern with lots of book options that were easy to browse. I was able to grab a coffee and read for a while. The only downside is parking on the street can be a bit challenging.

Great coffee! Not a lot of seating however, so if you're hoping to meet with a friend or perhaps read or work a bit I suggest getting there early to snag a seat. It definitely gets busy around 10 am on the weekends. Lots of great book options with a variety of topics like romance, YA, poetry, fantasy, children, science fiction, thriller, etc

This place is so cute and spacious! It opened at the end of February and is a very comfy place to read and has a coffee shop inside. The vibe itself is industrial feeling, it's mainly concrete but very spacious. I wish they had more seating to read but their selection of books is pretty large.

I was so excited to learn of a black woman owned indie bookstore just a short walk from my hotel! Located in the Skyway, you can access via the Skyway or the street. It can be tricky to find using Google/Apple Maps from inside the Skyway. The app doesn't get a good signal inside, so it's easier to find from the street if you're unfamiliar with the Skyway. I got lost and asked the security guards in the mall for directions and they told me that all the bookstores downtown closed after the pandemic. I'm so glad I didn't listen to them and set off outside to find my way. Once I arrived after a 5 minute walk from the Marquette Hotel, I was in a book lovers dream! The bookstore is filled with an array of inventory, including local books, classics, new releases, children & teen books, accessories like bookmarks and stickers and even things for the home like candles and sage bundles. The owner, Miss Mary is just delightful. She introduced herself and we chatted for a while and let me know she was available if I needed help, I also noticed that she gave me space to browse freely and take in everything the store had to offer. If you are local, or visiting the area, please do yourself a favor and stop in to check out Strive Bookstore. We need to support our indie bookstores now more than ever!

Popped in here for a totally unplanned visit and if they weren't closing in an hour it would have been really hard for me to leave. What a comforting corner in what can sometimes be gloomy downtown Minneapolis. Solid book collection. Found out they host book clubs and you can even start your own and host it there. There's tons of comfy seating. Bonus points that it's black owned! Will be back!

I've been here before, but this was the first time I checked out the annex portion of the store, which houses used books. If you are seeking a mystery book, this is the place to go as they've got it all. The prices of the used books were higher than I would have expected (nearly $14 for a used hardcover), but the selection makes it worth it. I liked the cute seating area in the annex a lot it looked very comfy. There is street parking near the store, but it's on a very busy street. That busy street made it feel like I was part of the video game Frogger trying to get back into traffic after parking!

It's an unassuming looking store from the outside but once inside. You can tell they have a solid selection. It was filled top to bottom with shelves. They also take Apple Pay which is nice! There's another room called the Annex. You can ask to see. They will take you through a door down a hallways and into the room. Here you can find first editions of mystery books. Or even books written as far back as the 40s! Solid store. Decent prices! They also gave a book club which meets on certain days. Check it out
