I paid this business 75 bucks to put high pressure fitting on two fuel lines. All they did is push the rubber lines over the hard lines and secured the with strap clamps. I came in today to Auto Air & Axle for a second opinion, after being quoted over 2K for an urgently needed total AC system for a 2005 Honda CRV from Gillman Honda. Auto Air & Axle said they could do the complete job for $720.00 but of course using new but aftermarket parts. (with a year guarantee). I said go ahead. They just called me to pick up my car and that there would be NO CHARGE it turns out that there was a wire unplugged! ! ! ! ! The factory trained technicians at Gillman Honda couldn't figure that out after inspecting the car for over an hour! They wanted over $2,000.00 for what was FREE at a reputable repairs shop. The owner, Keith is really nice. Unfortunately, people make mistakes. I ordered a compressor, the new one I purchased completely looked the same as my old one, but it was the wrong one. I had to go back to this place two times. They got it ordered, the next day. It eventually broke, but I had a warranty. I went back without a receipt and they gave us some hassle but good thing the owner remembered us because without your receipt, they say they can't help you. He ordered us a new one, again, next day service but it works great. Sometimes when they are busy, the women staff can be rude. I would still go back, since the rest of the staff is very nice and always help answer my questions. read more

Auto Air And Axle in San Antonio is professional, helpful, and have excellent service. My repairs have never taken more than a couple of days. I brought in my vehicle a second time to them with brake problems and air conditioning cooling issues that had been worked on last year, but were no longer under their 1 year warranty. Fortunately for me, they went the extra mile, and covered it under warranty even though it was two months past. They found the issues and repaired them for a nominal fee. They made me feel like I was a valued customer, and went that extra bit out of their way to keep me happy. I will definitely be coming back in the future, I feel like this is one shop that deserves my continued business. RUDE, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, DISRESPECTFUL. This is a review from a government entity. We attempted to give business to this company because it is a local company. The woman up front was not helpful, the individual who was going to work on fabricating or repairing a part was not helpful and basically just threw the part back on the counter like he could care less if I was a customer. Then the owner of the establishment comes out and doesn't even acknowledge me in the room. He begins asking them what was going on and the woman begins to actually lie about not knowing about the government form (889) and what it is. I literally stood there while it was completely explained to her just 5 minutes earlier and she said signing the form would be no problem. The owners response "Well I guess he won't get his part then" I could not believe how horrible the customer service was there. I will never recommend this establishment to any government entity in the San Antonio area and there are A LOT of them here. Maybe they were having a bad day but the lack of respect shown to me as a person was unacceptable. read more

Yuck! I have been an amateur mechanic for over 20 years and almost always do my own auto repairs - from restoration to engine rebuilds. When the job is beyond me, I remove the parts myself and bring them into a shop so I usually save considerable money. I recently took my Subaru legacy wheel hub assembly along with a new wheel bearing and seals to Axle Air and Auto on a Saturday, so they could press out the old bearing and press in a new one. They took the hub assembly to the back, I heard hammering noise and the mechanic returned and said, "The hub is okay so we'll have the new bearing installed on Monday". Monday I received a call and was told that the ABS ring was cracked and that I needed to bring a new one in for them to replace while they rebuilt the hub. I had not noticed any damage nor had the mechanic but I took their word and ordered a new part but it wouldn't arrive until Tues. On Tues I called to let them know I'd be bringing in the new $130 ABS ring and the woman said "Your hub is also scored and must be replaced." I said, "Your mechanic checked that days ago and said it was fine!?" After dead silence, the woman simply repeated, "Your hub is damaged and must be replaced." I went in to the shop to inspect the parts and the abs ring was shattered into four pieces. Juan, who did the actual work, sheepishly admitted the ring had broken as he was hammering on the hub but the counter woman jumped in, claiming the ring was already cracked - "It was already broken and just fell apart when he took the hub out". I explained that it had not been cracked whatsoever but it was clear she was not budging so I took my parts and left. The end of the hub was indeed scored and has to be replaced but they told me differently when I first went in so I have to wait another two days for the new part to arrive, dragging the job out even further. Once my new hub (another $100+ part) arrives, I will be taking my parts to a competent garage to reassemble and never visit nor recommend this place again. A routine job that should have taken two days at most has taken almost a week and cost me double what the job should have! read more

The customer service was excellent. I originally took my SUV here because of a noise when I turned. They said they couldn't diagnosis it. I took it to another shop that diagnosed it and gave me a pretty high quote. I called Auto Air & Axle back and they said they could replace the part. They did it within 6 hours and it cost about $300 less than the other shop. I was very pleased. George at the service desk is very friendly. I would recommend then-even though they missed the original diagnosis. read more
