Today was the third time I've taken a car to Auto Glass Now on Westwood Ave. to have windows replaced. The staff is polite, the work is done quickly, and they are significantly less expensive than many other glass shops. This time, I had two shattered side windows (just some of Richmond's delightful vandals having a good time). They got my car in quickly, replaced the windows, and even vacuumed all of the shattered glass out of my car! The receptionist is well organized, gives you all of the information you need, and is sweet and professional at the same time. The waiting area is clean, and they offer coffee and snacks. One time I took a car in because the rear view mirror had broken off (nothing to do with their work'!), and they fixed it for free. Bought a used car from carvana who agreed to replace the windshield for free upon purchase due to a small chip. Seeing as it was free, I was happy to bring it in! Carvana scheduled me here, explaining that because I have a keypad entry on the windshield, I had to take my car in. Not a problem! Scheduled and brought my car in. When I got the car back, the keypad entry was no longer attached to the windshield! I walked back in to explain and the technician explained "yeah, I didn't know what that was but it wouldn't stick again"...and stared at me. I explained that it was a keypad entry and must be in full contact with the windshield to use. They explained they've never seen something like that before and they would have to do some research. After calling them back the next week, it was explained that it was an "after market part" (even though it's from Toyota) and they aren't liable for replacing those. NO ONE TOLD ME THIS BEFORE! The store manager explained that he did find the correct part number for a sticky replacement but it costs $49. I asked them to order it but he said that the GM, Gina, would not approve it because they aren't liable for those things. Between the lack of knowledge on the sensor, lack of communication with the customer, the response from staff with problems AND the razor blades found ALL OVER the parking lot, it's very clear this place has no idea what they're doing. I'm now stuck with ordering this part and replacing it myself. Do yourself a favor, don't make more work for yourself. Take your car somewhere else that will complete the job. read more

Truly a PHENOMENAL autoglass shop! My driver side window got smashed in over the weekend, and they were able to get me in faster than Safelite could (2 days vs. over a week with Safelite). They went out of their way to ensure everything was installed perfectly, clearly communicated and answered all my questions. The regulator ended up being busted as well, and they managed to source a new regulator same day, and got me a great price for it. Tracy is an absolute angel and made sure things were on track, Dave took me to the back to show me the exact issue with the regulator motor, and Zoey was perfectly on top of scheduling/making sure that if I needed a follow up, I could have another appt ASAP. I have had two occasions to use the Westwood location over the last several years. Their prices have been good -- better than the firms that you see ads for all the time. Their staff is friendly enough. Making an appointment was very easy and was scheduled for two days after my call, since they had to order the glass. That seems reasonable. This firm would be rated higher, except that I cannot for the life of me figure out why a job that takes (to be generous here) an hour to perform takes close to three hours to complete -- even WITH an appointment. To be fair, they did tell me it would be two to two and a half hours when I arrived -- when I asked. But this info was delivered as if it were the norm, not as if they were apologetic for running behind. if appointments are meaningless, don't schedule them. The chairs are old and shredding and the tables are seriously unsteady and falling apart. I got several Bug bites while waiting for my window to be serviced as well. I would've been glad to do something else or come another day or make another plan instead of sitting in their lobby for hours on end had they just been honest with me. I drove an HOUR to get to these guys and it was well worth the trip. I priced windshields in Charlottesville and the surrounding area and these guys beat the prices by $100 to almost $300. They had it fixed by noon on Monday morning after setting up an online appointment and it would have been quicker if I would of been able to order the glass sooner. I recently visited this location after reading all the reviews to get my windshield replaced. Let's just say my experience has not been good at all. First, I received a quote online after receiving several quotes from different glass shops, I decided to go with this location. Scheduling was easy and convenient. However, I scheduled my appointment for Thursday and they called Thursday morning to say that the glass would not be available until Friday and my car would be ready around noon. Friday came about noon and I hadn't received a call about the status of my vehicle so I decided to call. I was initially told that my glass was still not in and was placed on hold. A gentleman picked up and said that my vehicle would be ready for pick up at 4. Now being that I have been through this from the previous day, I called at 4 to see if my vehicle was ready. I was placed on hold and a few minutes later the guy stated that my vehicle would be ready in about 30-45 minutes so I decided to go pick up my vehicle. While on the way there I received a call saying my vehicle was ready for pickup. I was about 5 minutes away from the shop at this point. I arrived a little before 5 and I waited about 3 minutes before I was even acknowledged granted the two people in the front were both on the phone at the time. I paid for the service and then was told that they could not find the keys to my vehicle. I waited about 30 minutes for them to search for my keys until they finally found them. Could not have asked for a better experience here this morning. I called yesterday (Labor Day) and they were able to schedule an appointment to replace my cracked windshield this morning. Upon arrival, they helped sort out the claim with my insurance and had my car back to me earlier than expected and looking good as new. I wrote the original review prematurely and I've left the original for transparency purposes, located at the very end. But I had to come back and edit this review from 5 stars down to 1. I waited this time just to make sure I'd gotten everything right. The original repair was quick, and that's where the good news stops. The glass and my car was covered with glass adhesive, inside and out. There was black adhesive even on my rear view mirror which is what prompted me to look around a bit more. The seal around the glass wasn't even on both sides, the rubber lip on the glass was smashed in on one side and loose on the other. I walked back inside and complained. They tried to clean it off but asked that I give it a WEEK to dry and they would redo it. WHAT? Ok. Fine. Whatever. A week later when I go to drop the car off the lady at the desk says "oh we're very busy today I'll see if I can fit you in" WHAT? This service should've been scheduled in. This time the car was there all day. I go to pick the car up. There's a chip in the glass. Seriously. They offered to fill the chip. I declined. A THIRD glass installation was scheduled and that one went off without a hitch. But after all the inconvenience I would have been better off paying extra somewhere else and having it done right the first time. Original review: After quite a bit of searching for cheap prices I found Auto Glass Now had the lowest one with my deductible. I was expecting them to be slow since the price was so low but to my complete surprise they called me about an hour and a half after I dropped my car off. I got here at 8:30 this morning, they said it would take 1 1/2 - 2 hours (should be ready 10:00 - 10:30). I left did a few things, called at 10:01 asking a time frame and was quoted 1 hour.... (11:01). Got back at 11:00, and waited until after 12:10 for it to be ready... I had an appointment for 8AM on a Monday. My car didn't get pulled into the shop until 9AM because there was no one there to replace the windshield. The excuse? The guy was running late because of traffic. The clerk told me he was going to be 15 minutes late which is annoying but whatever. He finally showed up at 8:50AM! Best price in town - by far! Windshield seems to be holding up well, no leaks. The inside staff is friendly. The outside installers are friendly, a bit ghetto, but eh. My only complaint, they left broken glass and black "dirt" (or what I can only imagine is old adhesive they scraped off after removing the old windshield) all over my dash, console, and front seats. A mess. It was kind of gross. I went directly to a carwash to vacuum my car out thoroughly. (No carwash for 48 hours tho!)... Despite the inconvenience of the mess they made, you still can't beat their price. If you have a newer, nicer car, I wouldn't recommend Auto Glass Now. If you have a more "worn in" car, go for it. And for Auto Glass Now: it seems like it would be so simple to just spread a tarp or sheet or paper or some kind of barrier inside the car as your working to avoid making such a mess. Update. They have offered to replace the windshield and stated that the person that installed never sealed it .. the windshield ! It was leaking from the rear view mirror all the way driver side . If we could give this place a negative rating we would. We usually deal with the auto glass now place off of Midlothian Turnpike which has been fine. However my boyfriend got a small chip in his windshield and needed it replaced and we live near the Richmond location now so I suggested auto glass now. Worst decision ever ..truly you get what you pay for. We dropped his car off at 8 Or 8:30 AM and it wasn't ready until almost 4 o'clock that day.Upon picking his car up there was black grease all over the seats in which he needed to go buy shampoo to get out.After dealing with that he looked at the outside I noticed that all of the weatherstripping around the car windshield was peeling off of the side of the windshield. He called the shop and And told them of the issue they didn't ask any questions but said just bring it in. Wonderful customer service. Not.We wondered if this would take another eight hours to repair. He picked the car up got it home inspected it further and yet again the weatherstripping at the top was still peeling off. Are you serious? I guess with this place you need to stand over their shoulders and make sure that they actually do their job or just carve time out of your work schedule to constantly go up there. Here it is Saturday morning an expected snow day he ..goes out to the car and lo and behold there is water in the floorboard and the windshield is leaking. I've gotten several windshields here & several repairs. Everyone is always friendly and I always receive quality work. When I visited in May 2021, my service took a little longer than expected. I didn't complain or anything but the nice lady working that day graciously extended me a coupon for a free chip repair to atone for my wait. That was very kind. Well I chipped that windshield in September 2022. I went in with my coupon & it was refused. Although it didn't have an expiration date, I was told coupons are only good for a year. (Someone could have written that somewhere). As a courtesy, I was offered a price of $40 to repair my windshield instead of the regular $75- which would have been a great deal but in the past when I have gotten windshield repairs on windshields purchased from AutoGlassNow, I was only charged $25. It was still a good price overall for the quality of work I received- but it's clear that there have been some changes to the pricing. I'll continue to use them for my auto glass needs. Called and got my quote and guarantee over the phone. They were very professional and courteous over the phone and we were able to get an appointment for the following day. It was by far the cheapest quote. About 40-60 dollars cheaper than everywhere else that we called. I know people often say you get what you pay for, but we were paying cash for the windshield on our 12 year old car. We just didn't need lots of flashy talk. Just a windshield put in properly. It was done quickly and we looked it over when we went to pick it up. The seal looks perfect and nothing at all seemed out of place in the slightest. Another thing they didn't mention at the time I booked my appointment, if you pay with a credit card there is a surcharge, what kind of business charges a fee for credit card usage!
