I noticed a crack in my windshield yesterday and reached out to Ace Glass since another company couldn't help me for over a week. I talked to Amber, and she was very courteous on the phone. Due to the cost of the replacement and recalibration I wanted to make an insurance claim. After getting my information, she set up a conference call between me, her and the Allstate Glass representative. Super easy. Ace Glass was able to come today (1 day later) to my office and install a new windshield. I am so happy they could fix my problem so quickly. Called ACE for windshield replacement on a Lexus SC model about 2 weeks ago. A woman took all the info, VIN, etc etc. said she would get back to me by end of day. Didn't happen called back on Wednesday of this week and talked to Tony who again said he would look into the matter and look for either OEM or an alternate glass. No OEM made and could not locate replacement product but made no attempt to let me know by a return call. This organization is run by incompetent give -a-shit employees. What an amazing experience I had dealing with Tabitha from Ace Glass. My daughter, a VCU student, had her car vandalized on Thursday (along with several others) in the parking garage near her apartment. My first call to a National company resulted in being quoted a repair time of next Tuesday. I decided to see if I could get this repair sooner so I contacted Ace. They came out that afternoon!Unfortunately one piece of glass was incorrect so they temporarily patched broken window and return on Friday to complete the repair. I recently had my rear window fixed n my Hyundai accent fixed. The back glass needed ordering. The glass was ordered and arrived in two days and the next day I was on the books to get it replaced. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Took less than an hour and had the pleasure of waiting in a waiting area with comfortable chairs, various coffee kcups and water bottles, a large tv and free WiFi. There was a bebe gun hole in a window on a new home I purchased & i received quotes from Pella & Window Depot which Window Depot actually recommend I contact Ace Glass to get a quote. I have mixed feelings about the experience I had with Ace, so I'm splitting the difference between a 5-star review, because the glass installation was perfect, and a 1-star review, because I was intentionally misled. So this is a review of the overall customer experience, not the actual service on my car. Ace worked well with my insurance (Erie... no deductible for a new windshield!), ordered the right glass, and installed it professionally. In that regard, it's a big recommendation for Ace. The new glass looks exactly like the original Mercedes glass, and working with the front office ladies was professional and friendly. By all normal measures, they get a 5-star review from me. Excellent work on my car. Applause. I'd asked on the phone if they were wearing masks and taking Covid precautions before I chose them for the work, and was told "Don't worry, we're doing everything we need to do." In her mind, that's surely true, but she knew what I meant and didn't want to tell me the truth. For that reason alone, stars are removed because (in early July) none of the office staff wore a mask, and none of the other customers I saw wore masks. Only one employee, a man who came out to talk to me about my installation, was wearing a mask. THAT guy is two of the 3 stars in this review. I get that some folks don't think the pandemic is a thing. But the woman should've told me that when I asked her. So, to avoid the inside air, I ended up sitting outside their store on a 98º day facing an asphalt parking lot. It took nearly 3 hours for the job to be done. Not complaining about the time, and one of the ladies kindly offered me a cold bottled water, but it was not a good experience in terms of customer service. I could've made other arrangements... to drop off the car and leave it rather than melt for 3 hours. The management just needs to be clear. If a customer asks if your staff is wearing masks and taking medically safe precautions, respect your customers and TELL THEM you aren't bothering with masks if you aren't. I was misled. It's taken over a month to get around to writing this review because I genuinely don't want to slam their business. They operated professionally with just the one misleading statement on the phone. Again, no disrespect to the skill of their installers; I'm 100% satisfied with the work done on my car. But considering we're in a pandemic, and that it could put someone's health at risk (even mask-haters get sick and die from this), that's worth pulling away all the stars in my book. Not here to argue the politics of the mask thing... follow your bliss! I just don't like being disrespected with a disingenuous response to a direct question. Again, please respect your customers no matter what your beliefs happen to be. For the one guy who wore his mask and the no-compromise glass installation, only knocking off 2 stars. read more

I've used Ace Glass two times now to replace auto windshields (once for my car and once for my wife's car). Both times were perfect. Suggest calling first and getting a firm quote/price. Their customer service on the phone is great and you can get a price fairly quickly. No issues work was done on time and the replacement windshields were perfect. You can drop off your car or wait. What a skilled and friendly shop. We had a few starbursts and just popped in to see if they could be fixed. A very skilled technician looked at our biggest and said if he repaired it, it might break the windshield. However, it was worth giving it a try. What a great attitude! A shop willing to try. I was most impressed by the Ace Glass (Midlothian Tpk) customer service. Consistently, the front facing staff quickly acknowledged each customer who entered. As I waited, their inevitable conversations between them revealed respect to each other and for customers. The technical staff appeared to work well with the team and our repairs were completed ahead of schedule. With my failed chip repair and subsequent windshield replacement (with calibration completed through this location) I was given thorough instructions. Cary on the phone was very helpful and in fact I was in touch with her several times. when they were ordering the part they couldn't get i right away so suggested that it might be quicker if I contacted the dealership and ordered it myself. because of there time and suggestions I was able to get the part and the installation the next day. the workmanship was fast and good everyone was helpful and very courteous. read more

I came in for a chip on my windshield that they said would be really easy to fix and cost $76. Two hours later they said it "didn't take." They offered to fix it for $900+. The front end desk workers were horrible and truly unprofessional. Separately, I am not sure why they didn't have masks on during a pandemic nor was there any social distancing of any type in the store whatsoever. It is a tiny waiting area and at one point there were 5 people in a 6-seat tiny area. I am so disappointed in this place. I would never recommend it based on how they treated me after THEY caused a crack. Shame on them. I hope they never experience the kind of service I received. *** why would I want a free replacement windshield? I have a $500 deductible. I am out $500. Nothing like borrowing a friend's van to move some furniture and shattering the back window, amiright? I -told- my friend immediately, then took it upon myself to get the window fixed, because adulting is important. A few calls around and I established that not only was Ace the best price available, but that they had the glass in stock and could fit me in the same day... a few hours turnaround time and the van was as good as... well, the window was new, the rest of the van was still the antique it had been to begin with, but I paid for a window, not a miracle. In addition to speedy work and good prices, the staff was unbelievably sweet to me when I explained the issue, even reassuring me [I was still pretty horrified at what I'd done at this point] that accidents happen and I had plenty of company which... was nice, made me feel a little better about myself. They also made certain, because I'd mentioned that I was -borrowing- the van, that the owner came in to sign the warrantee paperwork for the work [otherwise they'd have been out of luck if it went bad]. I have it on good authority that they can also do custom-sized glass for picture frames and stuff if one needs. read more

Our yard maintenance guys kicked up a sharp stone into a window, lodging in the screen but causing a break in the glass as well. Ace was able to send someone out to do an estimate right away. It took about a month to get the new glass. They did a perfect job of installing the new screen and glass. We did not obtain estimates from other companies so don't know how they compare price wise, but the service was good. read more

I was not happy when technicians came to my house they didn't have any masks on, when asked about it they told me "they never where masks and they go everywhere." I called the irmo office and the man that answered the phone said they do not require them to wear masks and said "yeah, so what do you want?" About three days ago (9/10/2019), the rear passenger side window got stuck in the DOWN position. I wasn't concerned about the car getting wet, but was worried about theft (crazy huh~lol). I stopped by Ace Glass at noon today and was greeted very warmly by not one, not two but THREE staff members. In less then three minutes, the Manger, Steven, came out and was able to put the window back into the UP position for NO CHARGE. I tried to tip and he refused! I had window panes in my house replaced by ace glass over the summer. They did an excellent job and the faulty panels have been replaced with glass that matches the rest of my windows. The technicians were polite and on time. The office staff answered all my questions by phone and were also very pleasant. It was easy to work with them and I would happily have them do future glass repair/replacement for me in the future. I recommend them. Note that at least for my project (replacing window panes), the glass had to be custom ordered so it did take a few weeks for the supply to come in- I expected this and did not mind. I had Ace replace my windshield due to it get cracked by a rock thrown on the interstate. Within a month I was buying a new car because the windshield hadn't been sealed correctly and was leaking down into the electrical components behind my dash (and into my car at the corner of my win) causing the AWD/4WD to continue to engage (or try to). I had it in the shop for over a year and a half replacing the same part/parts multiple times because every time it rains or snows multiple times it would mess up again. The mechanic checked sunroof drains and body seals to make sure these were all clear and functioning properly, he then stated it was the windshield leaking. I called and spoke with "Justin" H, informed him of the situation and that my car was now stuck immobile at a friends, he tells me to pay to have it towed 1.5 hours to their shop for them to test it because they can't take the word of a mechanic and they have to do diagnostic tests themselves. Then when he determines that it's the winds they'll replace it again. meanwhile I'm out a ton of money having it towed to them then to the mechanic (again) and replacing the parts yet again because of their crappy work. Had this company just don't their work correctly the first time I wouldn't have a monthly car payment that I didn't really want (or need), and I would have my car that I really liked. ** In response to Justin R, it has been two years, as the mechanic has been running all diagnostic testing on this vehicle and has had to replace the electrical components two different times. The "issues" that you posted the link about during your "Internet investigation" are all issues checked by said licensed mechanic, as he is no "backyard mechanic", instead he is a very thorough mechanic that looks at all possible issues before making any statement about what else could possibly be causing this damage. read more

I had to return to Ace Glass this morning because my windshield was still rattling after it was resealed on Dec 20th (this morning was the third attempt to install the windshield properly). Needless to say, I am beyond frustrated that it has taken this long. The store's owner, Justin, actually looked at the windshield this morning. While he was polite and helpful in explaining what and why they had been having such a hard time with my windshield (you think it would have been explained to me the last time I brought the car into the shop), he still refused to acknowledge that his business had wasted my time and money. He literally said, "Once in a blue moon [the windshield will be installed improperly]... but that's what the warranty is for." Since when is the second attempt to do a job properly considered a 'warranty repair' when the first attempt to do that job was not done properly? This is a manipulation of words being used to steal money from me, the customer. You heard it straight from the owner: When you pay an additional fee for mobile installation, that installation is not guaranteed to be proper nor is it refundable if they don't do a proper job (uphold their half of the contractual agreement). After stealing my time (having to take additional time off work, driving to the shop, waiting for the repair) and money (paying for gas, the additional mileage on my car, tolls), one of which I can never get back, no compensation has been made to amend their mistakes and breach of contract. I would have liked to see them at the very least refund my installation fee. No apologies have been issued. And to think they had a customer service award hanging in their shop... read more

I called to get an estimate to replace a 23"x12" piece of glass replaced in a door. These people are seriously rip off artists. The guy wanted $264 to replace it. When my daughter told him no thanks he drove down the road and then came back. He then quoted her $165. When I told her I'd just replace the door for that he then told her if he had to come back it would be more. I watched the entire conversation on my ring camera. I was livid at this point. I will NEVER recommend this company to anyone. If I could give zero stars I would. People definitely get several quotes for any glass you need and steer clear of these criminals! read more

I needed my windshield replaced a day before my inspection was due I had a serious crack in it. So I looked online and called up Ace Glass. The woman who answered the phone was very pleasant I can't remember her name I'm awful with names lol. She actually set up an appointment for me that day. I took my car in around 10 am and left a little bit after 11.
